Floyd is beautiful to watch when he throws a right hand over his opponent's jab...but I prefer watching Toney roll his shoulders to make a guy miss his right, then come back with his own right. Remember the first Montell Griffin fight? He hit Griffin on the point of the chin and had dancing all over the right...too bad he didn't finish him :(
I think Tyson's hands were too fast, and Lewis' chin too suspect to confidently pick Lewis. I think the Tyson that fought Ruddock would be able to eat a lot of Lewis' punches and be able to keep firing back until Lewis fell.
I saw the fight on HBO's "The Buzz", plus the "Countdown to Jones-Trinidad" coming in Januuary...I think its gonna be a bonafide HBO event. A former welterweight chamnp vs. a former heavyweight champ...
Morrison had as much talent as anyone on the list. Keep in mind, he was in his early-to-mid-20s when he was a top 10 heavyweight. Looking back at it, its remarkable. Most American heavyweights, regardless of race, seem to start boxing at 25 now...The Duke just had a bad chin and shaky stamina.
I like Toney by late round TKO. Tyson either quits or catches a bad cut. Too bad this fight never happened...
Hey Eastwestlover, who is that in your pic? Is that the group Psycho Realm?
Yeah, Macho tried throwing a straight left and the ref took a point. Haugen immediately started jumping around the ring celebrating, as if he knew that would decide the fight. It was weird.
I see boxing as a man's sport, and MMA as an animal's sport (not that some animals don't exist in boxing)....to me boxing is tougher, even if the MMA is more violent.
The writer for Yahoo news (Kevin Iole??) gave it to Cotto. I'd have to give it to Mayweather, just because his wins were so high profile and good for boxing.
