Of course he does, all he needs is to connect once good. Once Wlad is hurt, then it will be Sultan's job to finish him.
I don't see Sultan winning this fight but if he gets a lucky punch in, then he has a great chance stopping Wlad.

I think this is a very difficult but not unwinnable fight for Ibragimov. However, Ibragimov will have to execute a well thought out game plan for him to even have a chance to win. Klitscko is a very slow starter so Sultan has to make this a very fast paced fight early on, and go the Wlad’s body frequently and make every punch count. He also needs to take some calculated chances to hit the home run( stunning Klitscho) and go all out if the KO presents itself.
Having said that, I think Klitschko’s size, power, skill, and mental toughness( yeah, I said it) is just too much for Ibragimov to overcome. If Sultan fights tentatively, Wlad will stand on the outside, jab and unload with the right cross. If however, Sultan tries to come in with guns blazing he’s likely to get countered all night with the left hook…
My prediction: Wlad by TKO 7

With Wlad being 6'6 and 240+ pounds of pure muscle, it's going to be really hard to hurt him. And from what I've seen from Sultan, he isn't going to hurt or outbox Klitschko.
Wlad dealt with pressure against both Brewster and Peter, and beat their ass in both instances. Against Brewster up until the 5th round.
Agreed but he couldn't sustain the pace without getting caught at some point. If Sultan pressures Wladdy, he will eventually land a big shot on Wlad is all I am trying to say. Just like in the Peter fight. Wladdy kept Peter off untill the fifth round and then, getting knocked down by punches to the back of the head and fatigue setting in. And again in the 10th round I believe because of getting caught and fatigue. Again, this is Sultan's only chance to win.
Wlad by late tko...
good post i dont see ibragimov hearing the final belt after all this bum ray austin knocked him down
In my opinion it was a push down after a clean shot just like the last knockdown in the Tyson vs. Lewis fight, and Sultan was out of shape in that fight. With that being said, I think Wladdy wins by late tko.
I think Sultan will come in very ready and determined in this fight and in stellar shape. That being said, I feel Wlad is in his prime and his training and conditioning are top notch. Manny has really helped improve every facet of Wlad's game and he has been very impressive as of late.
I think Sultan will hang with Wlad in the earlier rounds, as Wlad sometimes gets off to a slow start and may win some rounds early and might even rock Wlad a couple times if he's able to get inside.
However, I feel Wlad will wear down Sultan with that piston like jab throughout the middle rounds. I think Sultan's face will get very red and swollen and maybe even cut by the 7th or 8th round and he will be getting hit with more and more clean shots. By the tenth I think the accumlation of punches will catch up to Sultan and he will either be knocked down or trapped against the ropes taking clean shots. Wlad by TKO 10.
Sultan's only chance is to go all out from the start like he did against Goofi. Wlad cannot fight under that kind of pressure for a long time as shown in spots against Peter. It will take a hell of a lot of stamina. Wlad cannot sustain a torrid pace for an entire fight without getting hit a few times. If Sultan sits back and tries to box he will get tko'd by the 6th round.

i think sultan has a really good chance if he fights the right fight.
he needs to pressure wlad from the first bell not giving him any room to work his great jab, if sultan can keep the fight at close quarters then he's the fav to win, wlad doesn't like fighting in close.
Wlad has fought close and won big before against Monte Barret.
I don't know if Sultan has anything for Klitschko. I read his trainer's Jeff Mayweather's interview and he talked about the match in it. He actually believed Ibragimov had more power than Wladimir. He didn't really make me believe that Sultan would have a chance.
One thing I picked from the interview was that they believe Sultan's best chance would be to fight inside against Klitschko, go to the body and crack his jaw (Jeff believes Sultan could KO Wlad with one shot). I heard Tyson was going to corner Sultan too, not sure if it's true but if that's their strategy then having Tyson there would help.
We will see if it'll work when they fight but right now I believe Wladimir will take it rather easily by a KO.
Ibragimov's chances of beating Klitschko are very slim. Klitschko is taller, more powerful, has a longer reach, and all those things combined will be too much for Ibragimov to overcome. The only thing Ibragimov has on his side is speed and speed won't be enough to beat Klitschko.
Klitschko KO by 7.
Manny expects Ibragimov to come in so that Wlad can smother him
but Ibragimov won't fight that way, he will do what he did against
Briggs, come in and pick his shots moving in and out ...
his power vs Wlad's chin ... he had enough power to keep
Briggs from coming in ... also I think wlad will be overconfident
again and that's when he has lost most his fights ...
That's not a good strategy to fight Klitschko with
Yes, he does becuase he does have good skills and a good, underrated trainer in his corner IMO. I just think Wlad's size and skills will be too much for Sultan to handle and I think Sultan will get KO'd sometkime during the later rounds of the fight.
wlad will not be overconfident, this is his chance at unification he has been waiting for
i honestly think ibragimnov will find someway to get out of this fight
Wladimir should be a 20/1 favourite in this fight, no way in this life time Ibragimov beats him. I see Wladimir outboxing him for the first 6 rounds and then finishing him in the 7th or 8th round. Ibragimov got hurt by a 45 year old Holyfield and a 12 round draw with the crappiest HW in History Ray Austin.
Wladimir by TKO 8th Round.
Next fight with Chagaev please.
sultan was awful against austin,,,but he clearly was in ill shape for that fight. he was 231 lbs which is 10 lbs over his normal weight. I think if he had taken austin more seriously and prepared better he'd have had a much easier time. he wont be 230+ lbs for wald,,,thats for sure. sultan is a silver medalist with damn good skills. I think people are underrating him here. btw,,when did holyfield ever hurt sultan? I never noticed that. anyway,,,I think wald wins by kayo but sultan is a much liver underdog then many think. his speed will give wlad problems until one of his bombs land cleanly. still,,there's always the threat of wlad walking into the southpaw straight left. remember the sanders fight? he totally fought sanders fight by stepping to the right,,,which was right into the left hand. hopefully manny will have him better prepared than wlads former trainor did at the time
I am starting to have a strange feeling this fight doesn't go the way a lot of people are expecting it to.

that's actually in the back of my mind for some reason. but, i can't bet against my guy. if wlad is even 40%, he wins easy.
Your comparing Wlad to Ali? I appreciate Wladimir and he is the best HW but you need to wait a little bit before you start comparing. Wlad does have a glass chin, and if you debate beyond that that I dont know how to take you seriously, he is a talented fighter and If i had to find one weakness in him it would only be his chin.
not really comparing wk to ali the way you may be thinking. i'm saying both ali and marciano have been dropped before. marciano was lucky as hell to get out of that fight with walcott - 1st fight i believe where he was ko'd in the 13th while ahead comfortably on the cards.
i am not going to say wk has a glass chin. we may disagree here. i do think that since wk doesn't get hit flush much, that his chin me seem to be a liability. i do not think it is because he isn't able to take a shot, but more because he doesn't get hit much. i have seen him get hit flush a few times by big hitters and seem to take it like nothing happened. i believe it depends how into the fight he is since tapping his jaw at his height and with his skill is not easy.
if wk is on his game, i would say he stands a chance, at very least, against anybody you could match him with.
To be fair, Sultan came into the Austin fight overweight and out of shape, he was a career high 232 lbs. Sultan now fights at 220 and his handspeed and stamina are much better. With all that being said, Wlad will dominate the overmatched Ibragimov and win by brutal KO in the 6th or 7th round.
Yeah. This fight won't last more than 9 rounds.
