**IN THEIR PRIME**
whether it be sneakiest, the most odd angled, the most versatile, the fastest, or the most powerful of the three, which one of these skilled boxers possesses the best right hand counter-punch amongst themselves?
After the fight and all those slow mo head snapper right hand counter punches fresh in my mind.....pretty tough not to vote for PBF.
(much as I hate to) but hey... credit where credits due!
We both know that's bullshit. I hate when guys say that.
"Floyd would get broken in half by Cotto. He'd get his ass kicked. BTW, I'm Floyd's biggest fan."
Toney has a better counter right hand especially on the inside. PBF uses more of his quickness and throws more LEAD right hands. Toney definitely likes to setup guys for that counter right, he has great torque with it and doesn't need a lot of room to throw it.
you do know he has knockout from left hook counters like early on in his career when he knocked the shit out of his opponent(i forgot his name) with a vicious counter left hook, and he landed many on them on gatti and corley, especially gatti where he countered the shit out of him with his left hook in the 4th round.
Yeah, but his left hook hasn't really been a big punch since he beat Genaro Hernandez (I don't know what fight you are talking about by the way, early in the career or when?).
Those punches really didn't hurt Hatton that bad though. The left hook was the one that ended that fight.
I actually was not aware that Floyd had that much power in his left hook when he sat down on it, and I've seen all his fights. Other than Corrales, it has never been a real stellar fight changer.you do know he has knockout from left hook counters like early on in his career when he knocked the shit out of his opponent(i forgot his name) with a vicious counter left hook, and he landed many on them on gatti and corley, especially gatti where he countered the shit out of him with his left hook in the 4th round.

I have to say James Toney, PBF is quicker but James Toney's is more deceptive he throws is from so many different angles.i have to disagree, toney threw his counters from different angles but not his right hand counter, he usually stepped in when he threw it, not saying that he always threw it like this, but usually he did. floyd's counter came from a block a lot in his prime or just a dodge and throwback, but he could land it whether his opponent's threw combinations or one punch. he did in the 5th round against de la hoya on the ropes and it buckled oscar. floyd way much more accurate than toney with counter right hands. watch the fight with justin jukko and toney pep. floyd is a very accurate counter puncher with his right hand. toney sometimes threw his sloppy but usually it was on point, but versatillity wise, floyd takes it, hands down. i watched toney versus griffin, and i think this was where he showed his countering skills the most, and he had griffin confused as shit with it, but floyd overall was just more precise and accurate with his, not to mention faster and dominating with his just like he was with his left hook, he countered amazingly with his left hook and his right hand.
Ask hatton!

i'll go with floyd because in his prime, imo at 140 he was vicious with it and could throw it from any angle. toney is a close second because he had a lot of leverage but floyd was just more accurate with his. toney threw his good but usually from one angle, but with floyd, he could throw it from off the ropes well and in the middle of the ring well. hopkins was decent with his, but it really didn't stand out imo as floyd and james did. floyd was a brilliant counterpuncher at 130 and he had knockouts with it also. a good example of floyd's counter would have to be when he fought phillip n'dou and knocked him out in the 7th round, he moved at the exact right time and waited until phillip's jab reached the point where he was vulnerable to a right counter. floyd was just amazingly accurate with his right counters, hell he could counter with a left hook also, like he did against gatti and judah to name a couple, but his right hand was just placed better than toney's and hopkins and he could throw it very accurately in the pocket also. he's my choice.
Floyd is beautiful to watch when he throws a right hand over his opponent's jab...but I prefer watching Toney roll his shoulders to make a guy miss his right, then come back with his own right. Remember the first Montell Griffin fight? He hit Griffin on the point of the chin and had dancing all over the right...too bad he didn't finish him :(
Difficult to go with Floyd. In their primes Toney and B-Hop had better right counters. It's very close but I'd go with Toney. He would throw it off the shoulder shrug so perfectly and with such power and precision it was scary. Every time he turned his left shoulder to the right and lifted it to ward off a punch he would come back with the right counter with the opponent off balance and wide open. It was perfect. You guys that are dismissing Toney haven't seen him or just don't get it.
u have to say Floyd based on the option however i would go for RJJ if he was one of the options
RJJ was brilliant at coming over the jab with Right hand counters ,remember the 1 2 counter he put Reggie Johnson down with ,man that was fast
I don't know if it was the speed or the power but that motherfucker was DOWN.
