I'm talking about when actually animate their fight if they sold it as ppv it would smash records.
That nobody watched apart from hardcore boxing fans because they were on subscription channel BoxNation. Those fights did very low number of viewers here in the UK. even his fight with Floyd didn't do big numbers due to it being on BoxNation, but that's how it goes with niche subscription channels like BoxNation.
Nobody is denying he does pretty good numbers but he is not synonymous with boxing when you ask sports fans around the world about boxing.
Unless you truly follow the sport, Canelo is basically unknown and has no real crossover appeal. Don't believe HBO, they have been desperate for a face of boxing and superstar since Floyd left them and Manny was no longer the fighter he once was. Canelo isn't a superstar, he's just the biggest active name in boxing in USA/Mexico right now, but that doesn't mean much in the current climate.
He is the biggest boxing name period for a boxer who is still currently fighting .
There is no "face of boxing" in my opinion - Neither AJ or Canelo are known much outside of their respective countries/where they fight. In terms of active fighters, Pacquiao is still arguably more a "face of boxing" than both AJ and Canelo when it comes to actual worldwide appeal and crossover appeal. He's recognised the world over.
Canelo, the guy who's PPV sales drop by about 60% when he hasn't got a big name to face? the guy who's tickets v the likes of Kirkland and Smith go for $10 on the day of the fight because they can't sell them? that's not a face of boxing, no way. Imagine getting tickets for a Floyd or Manny fight for $10 when they were the faces of boxing? lol, never going to happen
AJ is incredibly consistent with high PPV sales and selling out stadium after stadium fight. Not known outside of the UK though.
Anyway, back on topic. Wilder's popularity is not a patch on Joshua and doesn't deserves anything close to 50%.
He's known through out the world he's known in the UK for his fights against Khan and Smith And well known in the Americas and was able to have a huge gate for the his fight against Chavez . I see the point you you bring up about pac and Mayweather but that doesn't mean he isn't the current face of boxing just cause he can't sell as well but rest assure he's on his way .
I've heard from a reliable source that he bleaches his arsehole though
That's a lie Eddie Hearn's hand is in there 24/7 so we can't even see his arse .
Listen there's a fun way and boring way to box defensively Ali,pep, Whitaker were fun to watch .Floyd , Lara ,ward on the other hand make me question if I want to live anymore.
Well you might as well just list an entire roster bc ive NEVER heard of any boxer turning down that much .
I think the problem is you guys don't realise that 2 .1 Million dollars SUCKS for a HW champion with 7 title defenses and it will be VERY hard to find someone getting more under paid then Wilder and then declining a 7 plus x what he makes !
Hold up last time you gave me some numbers what that fighter made compared to what they were being offered why not this time?
Pacman made 25 /30 Million without Floyd .
I dont think thats possible !
30 x 7 is 210 Million he would have had to decline to beat out Wilders 7x which was over 15 Million .
Wilder made 2.1 and jumped to 15 Million AND 4 belts too that were on the line .
That's why I said think pac did wasn't sure . Maybe tripple G
No ones ever turned down OVER 7 times their highest earning at HW ! Maybe in all weight classes ?
Wilder is certainly in the history books !
I think pac did
