Matthysse simply had no answer to the fight Pac was bringing to him. The hody shots Lucas absorbed from Manny sapped his will to continue. The jabs to the head accentuated the damage he was receiving. Then he spit the bit and it was all over for Matthysse. He didnt take a dive, he took a methodical beating he knew he couldnt overcome.
The idea of Mikey fighting either Spence or Crawford is STUPID!!! Not that I doubt Garcia would make a good battle, but the size difference against these two WW’s is just to much for even Mikey to overcome. Better to risk that “O” against Loma than the other two guys.

With both DJ/Dev and BJS/Andrade likely next month, it’s a toss up if either winner will be ready before years end. If Canelo wants to fight before the end of the year, it will probably be Charlo or someone else and then fight GGG in for Cinco de Mayo of ‘19. Too much money for either one to pass up with a trilogy fight looming. This would be a breakout fight for Charlo. I doubt he can beat Canelo though.
Yes it would surprise me a lot...WHY??? Canelo is the faster fighter with the better punch variety, his foot work is superior and his I.Q seems higher. I believe in the 1st fight he fought kinda of scared and was fearful of the myth of GGG like Ward was of Kovalev in the 1st fight. Do not be surprised to see a more aggressive Canelo more willing to fight on the inside this time around as he had a lot of success there in the 1st fight.
And the end result will be like that of the second ward kovalev fight,... of course without the low blow controversy. Aside from the gift draw for Canelo, GGG will once again outclass an “entitiled” fighter that was supposed to be the “giant killer” of Fm. And haters call GGG a hype job. Goes both ways brother. If Canelo opens up in an aggressive fashion, GGG will punish him and hurt him.

Look forward to a trilogy fight. I dont think there is any other MW alive who would have survived the beating Canelo and GGG put on each other. I had G winning the fight because he really turned the tide on canelo from the fourth round on, and landed the better and harder shots and combos. He nearly had Canelo out of there a few times. Canelo would be lying to say he didn't feel GGG power. But in the end, the judges saw it differently and this is the situation at this time. Hopefully get a cinco de mayo date lined up.

I must've missed the "outclassing" that happened last September. I remember Canelo landing almost all of the meaningful power punches and demonstrating quality defense while Gennady had an excellent jab and high (ineffective) work rate.
I'm not seeing where Gennady can improve at all other than landing a lucky punch. Canelo, meanwhile, has a smaller neck so I expect his stamina to be better and speed to be better.

Pacquiao vs Horn. Low risk, low reward. Pac took the loss and made squat comparitivly soeaking. Pacquiao vs Crawford high risk, high reward,..... but for who?!?!?!?! Manny is the Canelo lottery (big draw name) bout and Crawford and arum damned well know it. They know a Pac/FM rematch would make more for Pacquiao than Crawford would ever make in ten fights. And your friend is probably correct. No big thurman fan but, crawford is now in a class with alot of elite talent that he has never faced before. Its going to be an uphill batttle for crawford to gain any respect in the division. Benevidez while questionably lame, but was a step up in competition and almost went the distance. Spence, Garcia, Thurman, Pac, porter, etc, are on a much higher and experienced level than Benevidez. That is a fact.
A discussion about a Crawford/Thurman fight is a moot point at this time. Thurman will take a warm up fight before he enters back into the fray. Imo, Pac and Porter are Crawfords safest bets to fight at this stage. And their is no certainty that he would survive with either of them. Garcia wiuld be plan “c” because i think he hits harder when he lands a solid shot. A Spence beating wiuld have Crawford questioning himself and his carreer choices. I Like a Pacquiao fight next for Crawford. Very good chance to make alot of money too.

The glancing blow give me the perspective that fury didnt intensionally go for a rabbit punch, as his punch was already in motion when wilder dropped his guard and his head. My two cents

I would like to see this fight myself, but at the same time, i would rather see tc fight a younger top contender and prove his worth before getting the big Pac payday.
Not as close as it appeared after rewatching the fight a few times yesterday afternoon. Dev showed alot of heart and courage, but i saw alot of flurries with more misses than hits. High punch output doesn't automatically mean that boxers gets the nod. Dev did land some serious punches on GGG, but Golovkin landed the more telling punches and the judges saw that too. Hats off to Dev for a great and exciting fight, but the right man won the decision.
