Kirkland is a powerful and exciting fighter but he just doesn't have the capacity to defend himself properly. Together with his dodgy chin, that will always betray him in elite company.
Saldivia is entirely too talented for a bum like Kell Brook. Hector Saldivia KO4. Don't know what pills you've been chilling on, pal, but you need to get off them now before they do your brain in altogether.
If you like action, Tyson Fury is your man. He's a throwback, a heavyweight who loves to fight and really go for it. But Tyson doesn't seem to realise what a crap chin he's carrying around with him. Credit him for winning both times but if he can be put flat on his back by non-puncher Neven Pajkic and ex-cruiser Cunningham you'd have to harbour doubts about Fury's ability to survive when smacked in the gob by somebody with legitimate big man power. It'll be fun to see what happens all the same when that test does arrive.
Froch is a warrior and will give everything in front of his own crowd but I reckon he's coming up short tonight. Bute hasn't fought the same level in general as Carl has but he showed his quality outclassing Glen Johnson. Nobody ever treated Johnson the way Bute did from start to finish in that fight and he figures to be too sharp for the Cobra.
Ponce De Leon is strong and carries a dig but he's ponderous. The name of the game is boxing and as long as Abner keeps to that he'll shut this guy out completely
Boxing rules say you can't push your opponent away. They do not say you can't push your opponent away unless you're Amir Khan. It was a terrific fight and a close fight and Khan would have just squeezed home by one point on the two tight cards but for the deductions. The ref did his job and Khan has only himself to blame for the loss.
Interesting to see Khan complain that he lacked normal sharpness because he was over-trained, and that the camp had been too long. Pre-fight he said he'd had a great camp and couldn't have been better prepared. Wonder what Roach and Ariza make of Khan's beef?
Witter used to be a good fighter but not any more. Right now he's one of the most self deluded guys in boxing because he actually means all that crap he keeps talking.
i h8 witter the quiter everyfin dat comes out of his mouth fumes me theres always brtish fighters with that kind of waanker ways ..
Wow, such an articulate guy.
Protect yourself at all times is boxing's number one rule but there comes a time when some fighters need protecting from themselves. Williams was a decent fighter at his best. On top of that he always was such a brave guy inside the ring and one of the nicest outside of it. It's a crime that those Latvian cowboys or anybody else should license Danny to continue with what has long since ceased to be a career.
Popular political figure?? Vitali has already run for Mayor of Kiev on two occasions and both times the voters said a big no thanks. Hard to get more popular than that.
Huck has battered inferior cruiserweight foes but, when challenged by Denis Lebedev, spent almost the whole fight on the run and trying to hide before sneaking away like a thief in the night after being handed a decision that stank the place out. Lebedev is not Povetkin. The Captain gets trapped and zapped by Alex, no problem.
