what? its true.
he got his daddy's jacked up hairline. at least zab knows its his.
i see a bald fade in the kid's near future.
Are you trying to imply something about black people with that comment?
I wouldn't put much on a guy who is coming off a bad beating and in with another good fighter.
Maybe if he had a few fights in between but jumping from a bad beating against Pacquiao to a clever boxer like Foreman, I would be inclined to back Foreman.
Foreman should be significantly bigger than Cotto. Cotto is moving up in weight. Foreman has good boxing skills. He's bigger, longer, a fresher fighter and may be physically stronger.
I get the feeling that Arum wants to really build Foreman up and is kind of using Cotto as a stepping stone. Cotto may only have a couple of fights left anyway.

Foreman is great value at around 2/1 or +200. I'd make him the favourite in this fight.
Cotto at -200/300 is not good value in my opinion.
We could have proof if he is or isn't...but....
So there is no proof that he has been taking anything illegal? Isn't that right?
These claims have been plucked from thin air.
haha even Haye wouldnt give up his belt to avoid Kali Meehan lol.
I've heard it from people in Haye's camp that he will give up the belt rather than fight Meehan.
Does anyone know if this fight was aired on any of the international broadcasts? I wouldn't mind seeing it.
More promoters should really have youtube channels set up, like Universum do, and upload fights of their prospects there, if they are unable to get their fights on TV every time.
Universum upload classic fights, recent fights, interviews and stuff with the fighters outside of the ring, such as Ina Menzer attempting to hit a golf ball for the first time. :wank:
They should be taking advantage of the technology that is available to them and it would get some exposure for their fighters.
Athletes would only be tested once upon their enterance in the league with no testing to follow unless the athlete failed the initial drug test. That's how the concept "innocent until proven guilty" works right?
No.
I don't get where you are going with the idea that there wouldn't be follow up testing after your first test, whether you passed or not. I don't know how you thought that one up.
The point is, you can't call someone guilty with no proof at all. Someone is considered clean until it is proven otherwise.
Pacquiao has never tested positive for anything. There is no proof he has taken anything illegal, therefore it's not right to say that he is guilty of taking illegal substances. It's quite simple.
Try spin that to suit your agenda again, kid.
Legit as boxing writers? To me the two best are here on BoxingScene in Cliff Rold and Jake Donovan. I also like reading Thomas Hauser. Another boxingscene writer T.K Steward is also good.
Lee Gorves, Thomas Gerbasi, Steve Kim, William(Bill) Detloff,
Are them are my favorite writers. There are more that I like to read.
Clifford writes good stuff but he has a habit of calling fighters of a certain ethnicity "robots", which I don't like. Beyond that and his hatred of the great Vitali Klitschko, I find him to be good.
I like Graham Houston. He is one of the best around.
I am not too fond of Hauser and felt he jeopardised his position as a writer when he came out and trashed John Duddy's promoters at the time and claimed a lot of things about them. This is despite him actually part of Duddy's team, which not many knew of at all. He failed to mention that. He clearly had a vested interest in the whole thing. That was a very slimy, deceitful thing to do.

Is there any proof that he hasn't been taking anything illegal?
I don't think has ever tested positive for any banned substance in all of his fights. Has he?
Btw, if you're going to make a claim of someone taking something illegal then you should have something to back it up. Innocent until proven guilty and all that.
You need to prove something actually took place rather than it didn't. :fing02:
pistol whip, why are you even here? Just go back to shitdog.com with the rest of the rednecks to discuss MMA. This site is for BOXING, a real sport. If you haven't noticed, real boxing fans don't like or care about MMA.
I wouldnt go to an NBA site to talk about baseball.
Are you suggesting that MMA is a white sport? This comment seems to have racial undertones.
You seem insecure.
No matter what happened, there was going to be racists creating threads about how poor Vitali is and such.
He didn't even bother training, he took it very easy. He's nearly 39 years old and has a crippled body. What do people expect? I didn't think he looked too bad. He won virtually every round and scored an impressive knockout.
They should be on it, certainly Wlad. How can Donaire be above him?
Donaire is ranked at #4. :o Wlad is certainly deserving of a place on the list.
Their #3 was dominated in his last fight, as was their #5, who hadn't fought for well over a year, prior to his last fight.
Guys like Caballero and Wonjongkam are on the list as well.
Here is the current list -
1. Manny Pacquiao
2. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
3. Juan Manuel Marquez
4. Nonito Donaire
5. Shane Mosley
6. Chad Dawson
7. Paul Williams
8. Sergio Martinez
9. Pongsaklek Wonjongkam
10. Celestino Caballero
Neither of them are champions btw,
The "bible of boxing" regards Wladimir Klitschko as the heavyweight champion.
and you don't have to be a champion to be on the p4p list. just a point.
I never meniioned that, you did, but I can see how someone like you might think that.
They're not on the list cause someone/people think there's better p4p talent out there, simple enough.
I would not be surprised if there's underlying reasons why they are not making these lists, such as where they are from, or the collor of their skin.
You think that's bad check out Dirrell vs Froch. Irony is that Dirrell ended up getting a point deducted for clinching too much.
I agree with on that. Carl got away way too much rabbit punching in that fight. Dirrell's clinching was very irritating too though.
It seems to be a priority of Haye's to hit his opponents behind the head. I remember him doing the same to Monte Barrett and Mormeck.
Haye seems to have made a career out of it.
It's a sickening thing to do and could cause serious injury.
He was green, nervous, and Froch has a reputation as a big, tough puncher. If they ever fight again Dirrell will knock him out.
You guys are quick to make excuses for Dirrell. The lad clearly has problems, as seen at the end of the Abraham fight.
I'm not totally convinced by him. He has the skills, but there's something missing upstairs.
Terrible stuff goes on in germany, its a disgrace to the sport
Corruption goes on everywhere.
Guys like Dave Parris, Mick Vann, and Terry O'Connor aren't exactly impartial in Britain. Some people seem to want to pin corruption down to just German promoters, which is wrong. American, British, Italian and French promoters aren't exactly much better.
Maybe it does happen more in Germany, I don't know. It would be hard to accurately measure this sort of thing.
One thing is for sure though, it happens everywhere.
Anto,
You're one of my favourite posters. You come here, make a statement, get people going and then don't post in the thread again. :D
Boxingscene needs people like you for some entertainment.
The reason they were chosen as possible opponents is because they wouldn't have him on in the first place. There isn't the money to make a fight against a top opponent if one of the major networks is not backing you.
Adamek was only brought in as the opponent to fight Arreola. Greenburg wanted to see Tomasz get destroyed.
How about Arreola fighting guys like Travis Walker and a semi-retired Jameel McCline live on HBO?
If you have to ask this question, you don't know sh*t about boxing and should be watching more boxing, instead of trying to talk it...
The answer is simple, he is a pro boxer not a toughman brawler, if he stood toe to toe with either fighter he would have been knocked out... If we got into a fight would you just stand there and let me punch you in the face to show how tough you are? I doubt it unless you like getting knocked out and stomped in the dirt...
You aren't the brightest, kid.
There's a difference between engaging occasionally and engaging all the time. Can you show me where I mentioned that Dirrell should engaged all the time?
Dirrell was too negative. He could and should have stepped in at times and let punches go in the middle of the ring and then use his legs to get away.
He was on the backfoot far too much.
Emmanuel Steward. He manages/he used to manage fighters as well.
Take in to account all the great fighters he's had over the years, the big purses on offer and he must have made the most money.
If Dirrell had fought Froch the same way he fought Abraham he would of got a win in that fight too.
Completely different fighters though.
Abraham always gives away the first 4/5 rounds. Then you have to factor in the poor refereeing, Abraham's lack of urgency until the last couple of rounds and the fact that there was no urine testing. Dirrell could easily have been on something when he fought Abraham. That may have been the reason the venue was witched, so as to avoid testing.
Then there was the dubious ending and whether Dirrell would have survived.
Froch wouldn't give away easy rounds and let Dirrell get comfortable like Abraham did. Dirrell was allowed get comfortable with Abraham doing nothing for most of the fight. Froch would chase the lad around the ring and make him uncomfortable, not give him any time. Froch would be aggressive.
Froch may run him out of the ring if they fight again, literally.
People are very quick to make excuses for Dirrell.
