Boxing will be back at Yankee Stadium June 5th when Miguel Cotto takes on Yuri Foreman on HBO Championship Boxing. Cotto, 34-2, 27 KO’s, is coming off a one-sided defeat at the hands of Manny Pacquiao and will be stepping up in weight to face the W.B.A light-middleweight champion Foreman, 28-0, 8 KO’s. Our fight picks crew broke down the 29-year old Cotto to see if the puncher from Puerto Rico that was once thought to be the second coming off Roberto Duran is a good bet against Yuri Foreman.
The Miguel Cotto vs. Yuri Foreman Fight Odds have Miguel Cotto as a -220 favorite at SBGGLOBAL.COM.
Boxing Picks Analysis: Miguel Cotto still is recognized a top-30 pound-4-pound entrant. The question is whether or not Cotto has completely recovered mentally from the beatings he has taken from Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito. From a physical standpoint the 5’7” Puerto Rican body snatcher is still a mean booger that removes men from their spleens with his left hook. Cotto is a textbook brawler that does possess a fair amount of polished boxing skills when in boxer mode. The Miguel Cotto vs. Yuri Foreman Fight Odds have Foreman as a +180 boxing betting underdog.
Cotto uses a punishing jab to set up his excellent combinations that he delivers from both orthodox and southpaw stances. Cotto is also a very underrated defensive fighter that is well-schooled . Miguel has only an average chin and can be cut but he has lots of heart and experience to survive critical moments in the ring. The Miguel Cotto vs. Yuri Foreman Fight Odds give Cotto a 70% chance of winning on the boxing betting money line.
Cotto should have enough confidence to get by the light-hitting Foreman. Pacquiao and Margarito were deadly punchers that brought pressure but Yuri is a mover. Miguel has traditionally done well against boxers like Foreman and should have a good night at Yankee Stadium.

Just saw -240 on Cotto from betus.com, I would say is a good bet.
cheers brother bear, green k on its way
hopefully ill have some more green coming my way come fight night =]
Foreman's Ko percentage is misleading. He can def punch. earlier in his career he was more on his toes when he punches similar to Malignaggi, but his last two fights, with k9, and Santos he started really sitting down on his punches. He hurt Santos multiple times and he stunned k9 early in the fight. He's not a weak puncher by any means.
I still think Cotto will win though.

If he is paying more than $1.50 to 1 im putting a whole weeks pay on Cotto
I wouldn't put much on a guy who is coming off a bad beating and in with another good fighter.
Maybe if he had a few fights in between but jumping from a bad beating against Pacquiao to a clever boxer like Foreman, I would be inclined to back Foreman.
Foreman should be significantly bigger than Cotto. Cotto is moving up in weight. Foreman has good boxing skills. He's bigger, longer, a fresher fighter and may be physically stronger.
I get the feeling that Arum wants to really build Foreman up and is kind of using Cotto as a stepping stone. Cotto may only have a couple of fights left anyway.

Foreman is great value at around 2/1 or +200. I'd make him the favourite in this fight.
Cotto at -200/300 is not good value in my opinion.
I'd agree with you but Cotto isn't the type to step down in competition.. he doesnt like it.. he wants to fight the best and always gets in there with whoever wants to fight him.. I give him props for going right back at it after such a bad loss.. To get in there right after with a world champion.. thats balls.. War Cotto! I think he'll be good.. Cotto is usually the Stalker.. He's had trouble with people that reverse it on him and he gets stalked down.. Im sure Steward will help him work on his defense.. we will find out in 2 weeks.. cant wait!

also...the part in bold.....i wouldn't assume that......he hurt Daniel Santos on numerous occassions and Santos was able to beat Margarito.
