I think James's condition will be terrible this saturday..I just read an article that says James only trained 5 weeks for this fight!
Ruiz might outwork him
what is a good way beat a guy who just throws wild punches to knock u out?
i saw the tape of the guy i'll spar with, and he just throws wild punches and pressures the opponent...
since i've never ever boxed before, i do not know an effective way to deal with this type of fighter...
i have the basics so i just need a game plan and know how to execute...
any amateurs or pros, help me out! i'd appreciate it.\
also tell me wut it's like when u step into the ring for the first time!
oh yea...i'm about 130 lbs and the other guy weighs slightly more than me, we about the same height...i have pretty decent power in both hands (at least i think so
At least you know what he brings to the table. Be smart in there, don't tense yourself 'cause you will tire yourself out. The best thing to do is be very relaxed.
My gameplan would be to counter him with straight punches. If he's a wild puncher just as you described, usually fighters can sense when wild punchers are going to attack....just use a little lateral movement to evade the attack, then counter with a quick 1-2 combo.
And work the body to slow him down, stick the jab in his face, and kick his a*s! :boxing:
......if you are rooting for him to lose to Ruiz, it means you hate boxing even more.
You shouldn't care how much smack James talks.
What you should care about is the sport's biggest disgrace getting beaten badly enough to jettison him out of the spotlight.
John Ruiz is a cancer. He's a disgusting, boring fighter who continues (thanks to his promoter) to gobble up air time & slots on high-profile cards that could go to far more worthy fighters.
Don't be self-serving this weekend. Think of the sport as a whole.
Root against John Ruiz. Root for a brutal, embarrassing loss....one that gets rid of him & his piece of shit trainer.
I 100% agree.
But I don't think Toney has the stuff to completely rid of Ruiz.
Wow that's interesting. But I do think that half of those tickets were purchased by the network for the head honchos. And of course for those ''celebrities'', who probably don't give a damn about the fight
Isn't it sad that a old , rusty Golota with no jab because of a fucked up shoulder.. can compete with the beltholders..
The whole HW divivion is weak, you're right.
