i think someone made a thread about this a long time ago but i forgot... but yea... i box and my record stands 5-1 with 3 ko's... i also kickbox which i am more active in... and i stand 10-1-2 5 ko's...
I train on my own right now, but not too much, as I don't want to develop bad habits that would make me bad. I'm looking to join this gym by me, but I don't have the money right now. Hopefully soon, though, I will.
I'm also way out of shape, as it is, so I feel I need to be in better shape before I begin boxing on a serious level.
I am no longer active as a fighter. I am still in the game though as a referee. I have been doing the amatuer cards and tournaments for the last few years and should begin refereeing in the pros this year.
As a fighter I had about 60 amatuer fights and 7 pro. Fought out of Galaxy as a pro with Jackie Kallen, James Toney, Bronco McCart and many others. James and I actually came out of the same amatuer gym. Threw punches with many world class fighters and fought on television and at the palace of auburn hills a few times. I spent about 13 or 14 years in the sport as a fighter and plan to spend the rest of my life in the sport in the back side of the game. Referee, judge what ever. Its just where I need to be...........Rockin' :boxing:
you are so cool Rockin1..Come to chat man
I used to, 5'7 boxed at middle weighed 175 when i started training (in-shape too love the weights) fought at 156,that was in 2002 now up to 182-185, back on the weights again, it's nice not having to make weight :D
I'm about 5'10, 150lbs, and in the training process. Trainer says I'm moving along at fast pace and should be sparring soon enough once he sees I'm ready. I'm hoping to compete in Golden Gloves like he has one of his fighters in right now and fighting for championship this friday!
right now i'm training for my college league starting next Fall. i'm 5'6 around 170lbs but i'm gonna get down to atleast welter. my main problem is i used to bodybuild so i'm a heavy guy. it's gonna take a lot to lose the weight, especially since i'm already pretty lean.
box amature in atlanta. record is an unimpressive 0-2. Periods of long layoffs, not as much sparring as necessariy, broken nose that didnt heal straight ( breath out of one nostril), and women have contributed to this poor showing.
Actually got more focused and stamina is better than ever. Getting my nose fixed so Stamina should increase dramatically. Then I plan on winning the Georgia games in July 16/17.
Of course thats my plan.
PS both fights were really close and i was totally drained by then middle of round 2. its like holding your breath for 3 rounds when you can only breath out of part of your nose. it sucks.
Yes i do!!
I beleive Rockin is an active fighter...as for my self before my "part-time" job took away from my gym for an extended period of time i was training furiously to box as an amateur at super middleweight and light heavy. I just got back with full contact sparring last weekend (got tagged with a heavy right hand, that i should have seen comming)and am looking get back on track. I'll post pics of me sparring in my avatar...believe it or not with another member of this forum......
ooo ok...
You don't wear headgear and stuff at amateur kickboxing right?
and
They don't have the computer scoring system...right?
nah... the point system is different...

watcha mean by that... you mean if i feel like i won it or not... well my first draw i i felt like he won... he out move me and hit me with the cleaner shots... but i guess the judges see diff... and my other draw was a draw in my opinion... we were going back and forth... he knock me down in 2 seperate rounds... and i knock him down twice in the final round...
There are no such things as draws in amateur boxing I believe
how do you account for the 2 draws on your record?........Rockin' :boxing:

hmm
5'8'' 140 lbs and I am 1-3. 6.7% body fat and all that jazz. I need a lot more sparring though. Been boxing for 2.5 years with considerable inactivity here and there.
