oh yeah he did, but i still felt he lost some of the killer instinct that saw him flatten lightheavys like griffin and hill...should have at least tko'd johnson and gonzalez..i think thats why he lost some fans over the years..
he just never really had the power at light heavy. At the time some people thought Roy was really a middleweight just looking for a challenge.
He had the power... it just wasnt his game... a no risk style fighter... hit and not be hit was the definition of roy jones...
if you can break someones ribs with a body shot, youve got some power
well yeah if you can KO somebody with a body shot and break their ribs then you must have power. He could have finished nearly everybody he fought pretty early but i think he just wanted to put on a show to make people see how good he really was.
lol..maybe not, but i'm willing to bet his ko percentage took a dip post del valle...
True his KO percentage probably did drop but he still beat up a lot of fighters after Del Valle.
What with the Setanta situation i really wouldn't think that any other broadcaster in the UK would have picked up the fight so i'm a little confused too.
Enzo walking Joe into the ring singing on his guitar would of been a classic!!!
Would it of been original material though or a cover version?
I'd like to think it would of been an Enzo original but the possibilities would have been endless.
Cant say its true and Cant say it isnt...
All i can say is i never heard him say that...
Sounds more like one of Enzo's drunk rants when his discovered his broken one of his guitar strings
You know what I just wished in one of Calzaghe's fights that Enzo would play or sing a song just before the start like Barry McGuigan's dad when he sung Danny Boy. Would have been classic.
What are these bigger and better things for Sexton though? There's nothing out there right at this moment so why not stop being a pussy and fight Rogan again.
Its a big if and its a big step for JMM to take but if he somehow managed to do it then yes i would regard him as a more accomplished fighter than Pac.
Physically the guys are better now than they were 50 years ago but what really makes a good fighter is the heart, determination etc. which i would say was better then than it is now.

There it is. It's from his own website. Listen to 1:38.
I've lost so much respect for the guy with these excuses.
You're wrong. Steve Bunce has an insane amount of boxing knowledge. End of.
Bunce has a good knowledge of boxing and of the business but he gets too carried away with some things such as turning everything into something about Joe Calzaghe all the time.
He fought a clueless Hatton and an absolutely shot and a weight drained De La Hoya. He's been impressive for sure but some people are taking it a little too far with the hype.
