What do you think ? Has he got anything left for boxing ? Who could he fight next if he didn't retire ? Any moves ? I would like to see him moving up to welterweight and giving it a shot with the top welterweights . I know he's fell a bit short on the p4p rankings but is Pac just improving and on a level of his own ? What chance would you give Hatton against the best welterweights ? He's already beat Urango , what about the rest ?
I wouldn't say he is shot, he is still a good fighter. I think his punch resistance has dropped though, He should of lasted more than 2 rounds against Pacquiao.
If Hatton wants to continue he should stay away from 147. I feel his best option would be either to finish his career with a easy opponent or face Witter and call it a day.
they got a bunch of mlb players and they beat USA in basketball in the olympics moron
Sorry....wow....they beat the USA in basketball. Basketball..the only sport that the US play, along with shitty American Football and Baseball. Play some real sports.
Well, there's obviously the possibility of a farewell fight in England. He would easily fill any stadium in the country despite his two recent losses. But honestly, I don't see the point. It would be against someone that wouldn't enhance his resume, just a thank you to his adoring fans and one last big payday for the Hitman. It would be a nothing fight really.
Ricky's taken a lot of punishment in his career, and he's not doing too bad considering, but I think he should get out of the sport right now. His career has been an incredible success story, and despite falling at the final hurdle when it mattered, has ensured himself a small chapter in Boxing history. Plenty to be proud of.
I suspect that Ricky will want that one last fight in England, but I guarantee it won't be against Khan. I just hope whoever he fights, it's his last fight.
Wow....all these hatton is shot threads. The man is still a good fighter. I would still favor Hatton to beat any of the other current beltholders at 140 and I would still favor Hatton to beat Nate Campbell. Which still makes him #2 in the division. Not bad for a shot fighter.
Hatton ain't shot but he's borderline. He needs to stay away from the elite fighters - He's not on that level and never will be. He won't retire - He ain't gonna go out on a devastating knock out loss.
Being a world champion again at 140 is still a possibility though IMO. He has enough skills left to test those guys and win. The fight with Junior Witter is long overdue, and win against him would be a very good way to go out.
That's because Puerto Rico is a third world country, basically you either become a boxer or starve. Name one other well known sport Rico is good at?

I think Hatton will have one more fight in the UK and then retire, exactly as I said last week.
Stay away from 147. Bad idea to go there.

hatton can beat the other 140 lbers, but he can't mess with pac.
hatton should just retire, there's no reason to go on if you can't be the best. he's already made a lot of money.
I'm gonna be honest with you brits, apart from Lennox Lewis there were never a great fighter out of the Islands, i'm sorry. Eubanks, Calzaghe, Hatton, even my man David Haye are all glorified B class fighters who can only win vs poor or fading opposition. I think you know this too and not need to admit it. Well what can you say, it's a small place. You do a good job keeping the illusion on so many fan's hearts by coming by only once in a while for that fight you know you're gonna win "because your opponent can't really fight 12 rounds". Apart from those situations there's nothing else. There's one special Island though, Puerto Rico. The British Islands are not it!!!!
BTW i will still be rooting for Hatton and Haye in the future but oh well...

With his engaging personality and mass appeal, he's a natural to go into tv color commentary. I'd take him over Lennox Lewis on HBo thats for sure.
Definitely retire tho'. He's got nothing else to do. He tried to climb the mountain and fell off both times.
Everyone saw it, and future, lesser opponents will capitalize. No need to become a stepping stone.
And thats whats going to happen if he's not careful, He would become a stepping stone for up and coming boxers.

he shouldnt retire yet...i think there are a couple of fights out there he should take a hard look at...
1. Amir Khan- finish ur career fighting the so called next big star from england/uk...win or lose u give the uk fans a treat...
2. Juan Diaz- it will be a slugfest...nuff said...
3. Juan Manual Marquez- if he loses to PBF than why not...pac would go after PBF or Cotto anyway...
4. and the darkhorse pick is Oscar Delahoya- they would both fight for the money...even if they dont need the money it will still be a major event...
become a gatekeeper for the up and coming
When he is one of the richest boxers in the sport? I'm not sure he will be happy getting chump change for being beat around the ring for 12 rounds, or 2.
