If Fury decides he doesn't want to give Wilder the rematch and retires what happens? Wilder v Whyte for the WBC?

Just listened to the Pug and Cop podcast where Mike Coppinger gave Caleb Plant the perfect opportunity to state his intent on the Canelo fight. Coppinger asked him straight would you be willing to do this fight on DAZN and he completely ducked the question. Rather than saying I'd be open to it if the deal was right, he completely avoided it and said "I have a great team around me. I have a great manager Luis de Cubas Jr, Al and Luis haven't made a mistake yet, they've done great with me and my career and so I trust them to make the right call and whatever that is I'll follow there lead." I get that Al Haymon is super smart and a man of great integrity but FFS, when will these fighters take responsibility for their own careers? My guess is DAZN will offer a bigger guarantee than FOX, Plant will refuse to fight on DAZN and so it's up to Canelo whether he takes the fight on FOX but I'd doubt he would take a smaller guarantee.

Shows the silliness of talking about chins especially when it comes to heavyweights. If you get caught right in the right spot by a 6ft 6 220+ guy you will go over.

Breazeale's record suggests he's a puncher 18KO's from 20 fights albeit mostly against poor opposition. Does he have the power to trouble Wilder?

Hearn says in an IFL interview that Ortiz is no.1 replacement for both him and Joshua but Ortiz's team feel "he won't be ready". Let's hope it's just a negotiating tactic.

Now that Breazeale has brought Virgil Hunter on board I think he has a better chance of beating Wilder than Big Baby does of beating Joshua.

Did both guy stock drop last night? Errol couldn't drop someone who got dropped at 130 and has no business being at 147. Although he boxed well it seems he doesn't hit that hard and is going to struggle to hurt guys 154 and 160. Mikey showed no ambition to win and clearly came to survive for 12 rounds. At least Amir Khan tried to beat Canelo and took rounds off of him. Surely for a big PPV event you have to at least try? Mismatches like this are bad for PPV.

Given it's likely Wilder will knock him out, would Breazeale dumb not to go to purse bid on for his final big payday? Even if Showtime put this on PPV, at 70/30 split how much are Showtime and Al really going to guarantee him? If Hearn is prepared to pay Wilder $15m to fight Breazeale, I'm sure he must be calculating he would have to pay Breazeale $6m based on the WBC mandatory purse split. Why not just let it go to purse bid and see if Top Rank do something crazy as well?

Wilder had an interview with Blue Blood sports last night where he was asked what he thinks of Eddie Hearn's offer of $15m + 60/40 split with Joshua or better. His reply was a familiar one that he has used over the past few months. You can't trust anything Eddie Hearn says, they don't want the fight. And then when Blue Blood to his credit, put him on the spot and asked him point blank is that a deal you'd consider, Wilder got all tongue tied. But how long will his fans let him get away with it before they demand he at least try to make the fight?

Anyone else think this would be an epic war? Neither fighter moves around the ring too much and both seem like they would be happy to slug it out in the middle of the ring. Not sure Charlo has been chin-checked yet at 160 but has show he has decent power and Eubank has proven his chin and power at 168. Would be an entertaining fight in my opinion and I'm not sure who would win but would probably lean towards Eubank Jnr.

So we have 2 big heavyweight fights which are both expected to sell out MSG and Barclays/T-Mobile, which fight will sell out quicker?

What does Wilder do if Fury prices himself out or insists the rematch has to be in the UK? It seems he would only have 2 options. Fight Joshua or Breazeale. Breazeale comes with its own problems as its a mandatory with no rematch clause and Eddie Hearn has already told Breazeale to let it go to purse bid as he wants it to put it on DAZN. So in this scenario does Wilder give in to Fury's demands, Joshua's demands or fight Breazeale where he's putting his big paydays at risk?

Is Wilder Lying About the Broken Arm or Wanting to fight Joshua?. Wilder claims he had surgery 12 weeks before the start of camp which means he broke his arm between the start to middle of June depending on if he had a 10-12 week camp. Yet he gave an interview with Michelle Joy Phelps on June 23rd and it can be clearly seen in the video below that he did not even have a scratch on right arm. So we can safely assume that if he did break his arm and had surgery then it happened after June 23rd. He then resurfaces in this July 19th video and seems to have no problem signing autographs and gives a pretty mean handshake at 1:14 in despite having surgery at the most 4 weeks before. He then shows up again Agust 19th again shaking hands and seemingly having no problem with right arm in Belfast: So when did this mysterious arm break really happen? And if affected his training camp and in the fight on December 1st, how could he of possibly fought on the inital Joshua-Wilder proposed date of September 23 or the second proposed date at the end of the October or start of November? It all seems very strange to me but perhaps there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for all of this...

Regardless of whatever rumoured rematch clause, surely the WBC will now call Deontay's mandatory which means he will either have to defend against Breazeale or unify with Joshua next? Sulaimn said in July "“The mandatory between Deontay Wilder and Dominic Breazeale is not due until the end of the year." It is now the end of the year so surely it will be called?

Fury is only going to get better and sharper and make less mistakes in a rematch and how much better is Deontay going to get? He has a much better chance of beating Joshua than a rematch with Fury.
