Has he got a similar deal to GGG? If he was going to be on Showtime he wouldn't be fighting under BombZquad Promotions?
📢 Deontay Wilder and his 'BombZquad Promotions' have scheduled a press conference in New York next Tuesday to announce his WBC heavyweight title defence against Dominic Breazeale.
It does look like this deal would leave him on the outer. And there's no way he's making big money fighting no marks.
Mind you, we've seen enough in the last few months to expect the unexpected. Especially with the Gypsy.
He'd still be lineal though. In fact, I don't even know that the Ring magazine belt would be put up for grabs. Joshua and Wilder are ranked 1 and 3.
Except he's not really lineal though; Lennox Lewis was the last lineal champion, his retirement through everything into flux, and then the Klitschko brothers scooped up all of the belts but promised to never fight each other.
With the vacuum not closing any time soon, folks started calling 'Klitschko brothers" the lineal champion.
Vitali retires to go and save his country, Wladimir never seals the title, but folks still take that 'Klitschko brothers' bit and shorten it to 'the Klitschko brother'.
Wilder and Joshua will fight for all of the titles, sealing the division, and establishing a lineal champion.
Fury toppled the dominant heavyweight champion of the last era, but that's it
Nah you go get the clip, also Wilder said AJ was begging for it 13 April which AJ agreed with but you guys keep ignoring this one for some reason. Moral from all this is Wilder is all about the money, lied to you lot about Fury being lineal to take advantage (as it's you that says Fury isn't Lineal) and lied about one face one name as he needed ridiculous offer of 15 mil for Breazeale an 40 mil for AJ just to interest him to sell his belt.
Biggest one belt hostage job in boxing, well played though as he's getting away with it and still fooling you.
Well said. I'm sick of Wilder and his delusional fandom. I'm not sure he will ever fight Joshua, even if he signs for Dazn he will somehow try to keep ducking. Worst fraud for decades.

You are quoting Wilder from 2019. What about his quotes from 2017 and 2018 regarding the undisputed bout that he wanted really bad but Joshua turned down both the $50mil offer and the counter offer of $15mil to fight in the U.K by telling Wilder to fuck off? Last year he opted to fight Povetkin instead of fighting Deontay Wilder for the undisputed championship.
Go research YouTube, Joshua is quoted as saying that he wouldn't be ready for Deontay Wilder until 2020; If they haven't already taken that video down or yoi can hear it from Barry Hearn's on lips that Joshua wouldn't be ready for Deontay Wilder until 2020. Well the moral of the story is to be careful what you wish for because it just may come true.

Someone needs to check in on Fury though; not only did he miss out on $17.5m guaranteed for $5m on ESPN+, he's going to lose his claim to the lineal title (with Wilder and Joshua unifying all of the belts for the first time since Lennox Lewis), and still be contractually bound to a man who doesn't share **** with anyone if he's got to be the B-side outfit.
Hope that contract said what he thought it said

DAZN ain't paying Wilder that much money with no agreement for the Joshua fight.
Youre right, if wilder wanted the joshua fight we would be hearing about a deal instead of What they offered to fight joshua, but they will still overpay him to get him on their platform. The problem with these ridiculous Dazn offers is that they keep getting even more ridiculous. They havent shown theyre willing to walk away from a deal. Wilder can probably finesse them for three fights
Somehow Wilder will bank huge money for two easy fights and then walk away without fighting Joshua.
I dont trust Wilder in the slightest, he simply wont put himself in a position in which he knows he will get demolished by AJ with the world watching. Guy,'s a coward.

there's no way a deal of that magnitude got done overnight. one day after they listened to dazn, they announced a fight presser for next tuesday. unless his team is truly incompetent, no way they would organize a presser without having the fight details and contracts signed. so there's no way they've nailed down the contract with breazelle, dazn, joshua, and others, all within 24 hours.
wilder-breazelle is on fox.
Well spotted. And you could be right. The timing is a bit too short, didn’t think about that at all. If they are calling a presser to announce a fight in Tuesday then I would doubt its on DAZN.
For $40m per fight? lol, ok
Let him take the money and fight then. It sounds just about right and fair. One can't blame him if he does accept the offer. However what happens, once Wilder KO their hero not once but twice? What will they say then?
Copp is saying that Wilder fights Breazeale in May, Joshua fights Miller in June, and Wilder-Joshua happens later this year, with the rematch in 2020.
Are you arguing that Copp is bull****ting here?
No, I am not saying that at all. However, it's up to Deontay Wilder whether or not to sign the deal or not. Who knows perhaps he'll take it? It's just like that old saying goes "Money talks" and "Bullshit walks". If he does decide to sign. I can't blame him. More power to him. It's a lot of money.
Why the **** not?

It's for two fights and then maybe Joshua in 2020, lol (with the Joshua fight most likely having a rematch added to it).
If the rumored offer is true, it's actually a 4-fight, $50m guaranteed deal. Congrats indeed.
Question; what is Wilder looking at if he simply follows his own plan, have his management talk to Joshua's management, and see if they can't get the basics of a deal shook on before bringing Hearn in?
The Breazeale fight is SHOPPV/ITV and at Barclays, and if the Joshua PPV doesn't happen in 2019, Wilder likely has Ortiz2 on SHOPPV/ITV and possibly with MGM Resorts (at the MGM Grand instead).
How much money would Wilder really be leaving on the table if he were to simply stage the two PPVs instead?
No, the offer Coppinger mentioned was three fights with Breazeale first and then two fights with Joshua.
You are exactly right! Even if it is a 3 fight $100mil deal. There's no guarantee that Wilder would except or even entertain the thought or idea of fighting Joshua beyond 2019.

Who the heck is funding DAZN? Jeff Bezos?
Len Blavatnik; Russian multi-bilionaire oligarch with ties to Putin. Cashed in in the 90's when Russia fell apart. Supposed to be worth something like $20b.
Not sure how he expects to cover this, but it's not my business plan so whatever.
If that's the deal Wilder is heading to DAZN, full stop. Dot the I's , cross the T's and all that , but if the deal is Breazeale/Joshua/Joshua, I doubt that Showtime/CBS/FOX could offer a better opportunity or justify the money.
Wilder handles business and he's King of the world in his return to Showtime.

except he's not signing that deal.
