This. Berlanga is not on the same level as Charlo. Active or not.
Lamanna is not on the same level as Sheeraz. Both need to prove themselves against a better opponent: each other. Both want Canelo. I'd rather see the winner fight Canelo.
Canelo was the 1st person to beat BJS, and he did it by stoppage, and now BJS ia considering retirement. Canelo will br the first person to beat Plant, and I suspect he'll do it by knockout. Throw in Canelo's KO win over his mandatory (Yildrim) it's hard not to consider Canelo's undisputed unification more impressive than Taylor's win over Ramirez.
Canelo will have this in the bag soon.
Him and Andy Ruiz are in the Top 5 WBC rankings I hope they fight soon.

After Ruiz was getting dropped by Arreola, I think PBC are worried that Ortiz may stop Ruiz. That's the most interesting fight for both though. But both guys will get light touches until they could be fed to Wilder for his comeback.
I know Ortiz is the ageless wonder but I think he's had his day as a top 5 heavyweight. Ruiz beats him. And yes Ruiz did look like crap but I give everyone coming off that 2 year covid layoff a pass. No one looks fresh coming off that long of a layoff. As for Wilder, I hope he takes a tuneup or two cuz he's been brutally battered in his last two outings. We'll see how he looks if he does decide to come back.
Ortiz has been old for ages, but his punch resistance seems to still be pretty decent. After those hard shots from Wilder in the 1st fight, he won some tune ups and lasted 10 more with Wilder before getting hit by a hammer. Ruiz and Wilder looked shaky early after they got dropped in their last fight.
I think Ruiz and Wilder were rusty their last time out, but that led to them getting banged up, and Ortiz has nothing left to lose.
I think Ruiz.and Wilder KO Ortiz into retirement, but I don't see either guy being matches up with Ortiz next because PBC wouldn't want the old man to pull off an upset.
yeah, he said 154 for Eubank, so why not 150 for Brook.
let’s be real, Benn talks a lot, but his team won’t even let him fight Avanesyan. They’re not letting him anywhere near Brook, even at this stage. Brook at 70% is better than Avanesyan ever was.
Avanesyan is a euro level fighter hyped up by Sky and Matchroom because he pieced up one of their prospects.
so if they won’t let Benn fight him, they’re not letting him fight Brook while he has any life left in him.
Brook vs Benn should happen at 154. Benn wasted no time calling out Brook. Kell has been damaged for years, and he's the bigger star, so Benn would look bad stalling the fight by trying to drain Kell down to 147 or even 149 or 150.
Yes at the weight brook wants. But what about eubank?
I think if Brook manages to beat Benn convincingly at 154, then he should end his career with a return to 160 to fight Eubank.
Brook vs Benn, Brook vs Thurman, Brook vs Eubank Junior all big fights.
Personally I would like to see Brook vs Benn or Eubank Junior.
Maybe Brook vs Benn can happen at 154 pounds.
That was a solid performance from Brook tonight, measured, calculated and controlled.
Domineering.
I was also thinking Brook vs Benn at 154 would be a good next step for both UK guys. Brook was 3-0 at 154 before going down to 147 for Crawford, and he won at 149 against Khan. He would be better back at 154. Benn would be the younger man, but his win against Algieri isn't that impressive, and he's never fought above 147.
If Brook can beat Benn at 154, then he can have a farewell fight against Eubank at 160.
I'd only be interested in this fight if it was at 154. Brook is 10 years older, and if Benn wants any type of credit for the win, he needs to fight Brook at 154.
Vitali says he's not leaving his people because they can't all evacuate. He says he and his people will stay and fight if necessary. The man gave up the WBC belt to become mayor because his country needed him, he's not going to back down.
He gave up the WBC belt because he kept getting injured in training camp
The man's last title defense was past the age of 40 and he had still never been knocked down or lost a decision. Stiverne wouldn't have been a problem. Vitali was very involved in politics before giving up the belt and becoming WBC champion emeritus.
I don't see Benavidez being able to have as much success against guys his own size at 175. If he can't get Canelo after Plant, then I'd like to see him fight Bivol.
He'd be the male fighter since Holyfield to be undisputed in two weight divisions and the first of the four belt era (unless Canelo or Crawford become undisputed at 175/147 before that happened).
So yes, easily.
Canelo & Crawford always seem to get more credit because they've been champion in more divisions than Usyk, but becoming undisputed in the top two divisions by beating Fury would be special.
Zurdo & Canelo are tough fights for Benavidez, and Bivol handled them both. I think Bivol schools Benavidez, and gets him out of there late. David has been fighting guys smaller than him, Bivol or Beterbiev won't be pushed around as easily.
September 15th was the dead line, right? I think that its gonna be early September or late August. Because usually big fights like this take their time so there is time for promotion and all the hype talk and so on.
Me personally, I wish it happens NEXT MONTH. I know Wilder has been training, I know Fury has been training (well, he doesnt look like it, but the say hes doing camp in Vegas rn) so lets get it on.
I would like it next month too, or at least by 4th of July weekend. This 3rd fight doesn't need as much build up. There's bad blood, and the winner will go for Undisputed.
Late July Maybe would probably be the Earliest but I'm thinking sticking with August would probably make the most sense giving both fighters plenty of time to have a full Camp. I know it sucks especially for a lot of Brits as well as Hardcore Boxing fans who do prefer Unification over Trilogy with Fury vs Wilder but hey he did sign a contract and judge ruled he has to honor that and understandably so because I've always said you cannot really blame anybody personally for a Pandemic causing the Rematch Time Frame on a contract to run out
It doesn't bother me too much because it seems strange to me for Fury to fight Joshua in August, since that would be 18 months since his last fight. I know that the AJ fanboys said that if Fury tried to take a tune up fight first, it would be a duck, but this 3rd Wilder fight makes sense. Fury gets to get in shape and shake off the rust, and he can shut up Wilder and all the people who are buying into Wilder's conspiracy theories. All this drama will just make the undisputed fight even bigger and more anticipated.
I say have it in early July, stop Wilder again and fight AJ in september.
If he runs through Wilder as easily as he did last time, there shouldn't be a long wait for the undisputed fight.
If Charlo beat Benavidez at 168, then Canelo would have to fight him in 2022. Charlo is going to fight bums and hope that Canelo will fight him anyway.
In the last 5 months, Canelo easily beat Smith and Saunders. In the last 5 months, Plant went 12 rounds with Truax, and then complained about his hand.
Lol bro you serious, Andrade looks like a midget compared to Benavidez. It will go like Brook-GGG
Andrade isn't that much smaller than Benavidez. Plus, Andrade will probably be better at 168, while Benavidez is getting to the end of being able to make 168 comfortably. If Andrade wants to get Canelo, he needs to take a chance like this, while Benavidez should be able to beat Andrade if he wants Canelo.
Andrade asking who Canelo has fought. Canelo just burst out laughing and told him to gtfo!
I don't think Andrade was asking who Canelo has fought, I think he was asking Canelo, "Who he fought?" Which I think meant: who has Saunders fought?
Because honestly, Saunders, Smith, and Plant were the belt holders, but they don't have great resumes. Andrade needs to be the first person to beat Charlo or Benavidez to get Canelo, but I don't know if he can get them.
Broken or not, he's just a gatekeeper now. He won't get a rematch against Canelo, and he'd get broken worse if he moves up to 175. At least Brook was able to go back down to 147 and 154.
lol true but that still doesnt mean Plant doesnt do very well something that slows the plan down for canelo.
Plant will be coming into the Canelo fight after an 8 month lay off & broken hand, while Canelo will be 4 months removed from 3 back to back fights that kept him sharp.
Canelo vs Plant will be like a machete vs a cracked tree branch.
If this was a MMA fight & Ben could put Jake in a headlock I'd be with you & your stance. Sh^t I'd be picking Ben. He can't headlock Jake in this fight doe. And this mofo can't box. I've been watching Ben Asken for years. I've seen a dozen or more of his fights probably. This has nothing to do with Street Jesus landing that flying knee crazy ass sh^t on Ben. I'd make this a 90/10 Jake fight, 80/20 if I'm way off cuz I think there is still value on the 75/25 betting line. If this was a guy like Mike Perry or some other lower-ish level guy with some hands I'd be feeling differently trust me, but fooking Ben isn't a boxer & has never been a skilled guy with his hands in a decade or whatever long MMA career. He ain't gonna learn that sh^t in a couple months.
I don't feel strong enough to bet on either, but Askren has spent most of his life fighting and getting hit. He had solid durability. Even when he was past his prime and coming out of retirement, his chin held up to a barrage of punches from Lawler. Askren may be able to grab & push Paul around in the clinch and make him uncomfortable.
Paul has been strategic with these opponents. He picked one of the smallest retired basketball players, and now a MMA fighter who relied almost entirely on wrestling. Askren doesn't want to face the humiliation Nate Robinson got, so he'll probably show up for more than a paycheck.
For a week lol. Yea he don't got a clue wtf he's doing.
If he doesn't get KO'd in the 1st it'll just be because he is a tough mfer. Honestly his only out here is that he's able to be more tough than Jake gots gas in the tank. Like Jake just gets so tired teeing off on him, without the ref stopping it & without straight KOing Ben, that Ben just ends up landing some awkward hail mary that somehow touches Jake enough to drop him & gets him outta there.
Askren may have suffered the fastest KO in UFC history, but that was a perfect flying knee to the head when he was going for his opponents legs. Askren took a barrage of punches from Robbie Lawler, and was able to turn the tables and put Lawler in a headlock. I think people are giving Jake Paul too much credit just because Masvidal was able to knock out Askren quick.
Go watch his training videos BEFORE this where he throws hands. You could suggest he's sandbagging with his current videos that are disturbingly bad & don't know the guy, but he's had garbage boxing since day 1 in MMA.
Supposedly K9 Bundrage is fooking with him for this fight, but idk if there is enough time to help this mofo do anything except survive longer.
Askren says he's being trained by Freddie Roach for a week. He's not taking his training that serious.
That would help Mayweather redeem himself after that Logan Paul circus.
Can you imagine Ugas pulling "upsets" on old Pacquiao and old Mayweather back to back. He'd be a legend among the casuals.
