I know Ortiz is the ageless wonder but I think he's had his day as a top 5 heavyweight. Ruiz beats him. And yes Ruiz did look like crap but I give everyone coming off that 2 year covid layoff a pass. No one looks fresh coming off that long of a layoff. As for Wilder, I hope he takes a tuneup or two cuz he's been brutally battered in his last two outings. We'll see how he looks if he does decide to come back. Ortiz has been old for ages, but his punch resistance seems to still be pretty decent. After those hard shots from Wilder in the 1st fight, he won some tune ups and lasted 10 more with Wilder before getting hit by a hammer. Ruiz and Wilder looked shaky early after they got dropped in their last fight. I think Ruiz and Wilder were rusty their last time out, but that led to them getting banged up, and Ortiz has nothing left to lose. I think Ruiz.and Wilder KO Ortiz into retirement, but I don't see either guy being matches up with Ortiz next because PBC wouldn't want the old man to pull off an upset.

According to Stacey McKingley his fighter who is Trevor Bryan went in the ring with Ortiz in sparring and gave him instructions to throw certain combinations being aggressive and shook him up recently. Ortiz team isn’t stupid they know he’s fading it’s about getting the big fight in a title match if they can while taking the least risky fights . He might as well retire then.

The most feared heavyweight after KOing the legendary Bryant Jennings - something Oscar Rivas has done. Both Wallin and Joyce said their teams made an offer to him but he declined. I could see one of them lying but both?

At this point, I'm not even confident Ortiz is still alive. Keep waiting for him to pop up in the memorial section somewhere

The bogeyman never retires. All the up and coming heavyweight talent avoids him, even if they never heard of him...they avoid him. Even when they offer to fight him, they avoid him, even when he is offered a career high purse plus the chance to fight for a number of world titles and his team lie about it and forget to let him know about the offer, they avoid him.
