“He talks a lot of sh*t,” White said on the “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson” podcast. “We’re going to find out. I hope you can bet on this thing because I’ll f*cking bet a million dollars that he loses this f*cking fight. A million dollars that he loses this fight. Let’s be honest: Jake Paul is not a f*cking boxer – this guys a f*cking YouTube kid,” White said. “Let me tell you about this kid: So the kid he’s going to fight is a wrestler, a real good wrestler, a decorated wrestler, but he’s actually fought real guys. He’s been a world champion in other organizations.”
Paul then offered to bet White $2 million that he would knock Askren out.

Go watch his training videos BEFORE this where he throws hands. You could suggest he's sandbagging with his current videos that are disturbingly bad & don't know the guy, but he's had garbage boxing since day 1 in MMA.
Supposedly K9 Bundrage is fooking with him for this fight, but idk if there is enough time to help this mofo do anything except survive longer.
It is definitely not an exxageration to say that many men naturally can throw a better punch mechanically than Ben Askren could (from what I saw in MMA). Amazing considering he is so good at wrestling but dogshyte at throwing hands. Throwing arm and shoulder punches while standing like some stereotypical Hollywood highschool geek with bad posture and a 'duck ass'.
The fact of the matter is that Askren is an experienced, professional fighter and Paul has only fought 4 professional rounds divided into 2 fights. He’s composed for a novice, but it’s an 8 round fight and Askren is going to be there to test Paul’s endurance.
Paul’s boxing ability and technique look better than Askren’s and it’ll help him to win the early rounds. Boxing is as much about endurance as it is about how good you look throwing punches.
I’ve seen Askren’s standup, it's terrible, but when the 5th round comes around and he’s still in there walking forward and letting his hands go, we’ll see what Paul’s made of.
If this was a MMA fight & Ben could put Jake in a headlock I'd be with you & your stance. Sh^t I'd be picking Ben. He can't headlock Jake in this fight doe. And this mofo can't box. I've been watching Ben Asken for years. I've seen a dozen or more of his fights probably. This has nothing to do with Street Jesus landing that flying knee crazy ass sh^t on Ben. I'd make this a 90/10 Jake fight, 80/20 if I'm way off cuz I think there is still value on the 75/25 betting line. If this was a guy like Mike Perry or some other lower-ish level guy with some hands I'd be feeling differently trust me, but fooking Ben isn't a boxer & has never been a skilled guy with his hands in a decade or whatever long MMA career. He ain't gonna learn that sh^t in a couple months.
I don't feel strong enough to bet on either, but Askren has spent most of his life fighting and getting hit. He had solid durability. Even when he was past his prime and coming out of retirement, his chin held up to a barrage of punches from Lawler. Askren may be able to grab & push Paul around in the clinch and make him uncomfortable.
Paul has been strategic with these opponents. He picked one of the smallest retired basketball players, and now a MMA fighter who relied almost entirely on wrestling. Askren doesn't want to face the humiliation Nate Robinson got, so he'll probably show up for more than a paycheck.

Think his wresting was that good he really neglected his stand up! Paul has chosen smartly
Yeah Askren's boxing isn't like Khahib, who is like 80% wrestler but didn't mind standing at times and dropped Conor with a punch.
Askren is like 100% wrestler, his striking looked terrible and that was against guys who were primarily focused on not letting him take them down.
Its a real fighter with terrible striking and a size disadvantage against a younger athletic guy who has been apparently training hard for a couple years now, I wouldn't be betting a million dollars on either of them, especially not Askren though.
For a week lol. Yea he don't got a clue wtf he's doing.
If he doesn't get KO'd in the 1st it'll just be because he is a tough mfer. Honestly his only out here is that he's able to be more tough than Jake gots gas in the tank. Like Jake just gets so tired teeing off on him, without the ref stopping it & without straight KOing Ben, that Ben just ends up landing some awkward hail mary that somehow touches Jake enough to drop him & gets him outta there.
Askren may have suffered the fastest KO in UFC history, but that was a perfect flying knee to the head when he was going for his opponents legs. Askren took a barrage of punches from Robbie Lawler, and was able to turn the tables and put Lawler in a headlock. I think people are giving Jake Paul too much credit just because Masvidal was able to knock out Askren quick.
Askren has no hands at all, and the fact is, you can survive in mma with no boxing skill at all. Most of the boxing instruction many of these ufc guys receive is either rudimentary or heavily augmented to adapt to mma. I’m not sure why Dana brings up other organizations, like it matters in terms of boxing. The YouTube guy probably has far more hours of legit boxing instruction than askren.

Askren says he's being trained by Freddie Roach for a week. He's not taking his training that serious.
Askren is being hand picked for the sole purpose of Paul being able to say he easily KTFO of a UFC fighter. Thing is that "UFC fighter" went 1-2 in the UFC, with the one win being controversial, and he also managed to become the victim of the fastest KO in UFC history during that time. He probably has the worst stand up of any male ever to enter the UFC in its nearly 30 year history too. Dana is going to lose that money.
I'm leaning towards Paul on this. Askren has possibly the worst stand up of any ufc fighter I've seen in recent years. He's pretty much just a pure wrestler
This is a smart move by Paul he is seen as an underdog as no one takes him seriously. He has then picked the most successful MMA fighter with the worst stand up!
So it will look quite impressive if he wins!
Despite how bad Askrens boxing is at the highest level of MMA surely he has enough to beat Paul? I don’t know??
Seeing Ben Askren getting KO'd by a flying knee in 1 second flat makes me feel like anything is possible. Also can't ignore the facts that Jake Paul is a man in his prime, while Askren is old as fook. Askren also giving away big height and weight advantages. You don't have to like Paul to see he has the athleticism, and he seems to have committed to Boxing at least as much as the likes of Conor McGregor etc. He regularly spars Pros, and holds his own. Trained by Shane Mosley.
I think if you had anyone fight a UFC fighter, but banned hugging on the floor and dry-humping, and gave the other guy Shane Mosley as a trainer for 18 months, you'd have to give them a chance.
