I don't like to rank HWs and they shouldn't be with the PeeWee fighters but I might make an exception if he were to beat AJ 2 and Fury. A lot depends if PBC is willing to let Crawford ruin Spence and have an unthinkable fight for a 3 undisputed with Charlo (think he clips Brian). He would be my P4P#1 with 2 undisputed at least. I'm not playing with that tainted meat fraud jumping around from weight -to weight.
If he beats both Joshua again & Fury, then yes he should be ranked pound for pound number 1.
Not only is he beating highly skilled fighters, he is beating fighters who out weigh him by 1.5 - 3 stone.
There are no fighters in the lower weight divisions who can claim the same achievements.
Canelo Alvarez is facing Bivol next, but I can assure you that he is not being out weighed by 2-3 stone on fight night.
He's certainly in the running. It's interesting how we watched the P4P #1 status teeter-totter from fighter to fighter. When it was Loma, and Teofimo defeated him, no one was really pushing Teo as #1 P4P with maybe a few exceptions. When Kambosos beat Teo, he was never even in the discussion. If Haney should beat Kambosos, I predict there will be some premature talk of him being a P4P #1 as undisputed. The #1 contenders for P4P king will likely rotate over the next year or two between Canelo, Crawford, Spence, and possibly Usyk if he beats AJ and Fury.
If Usyk overcomes the height, reach, and weight disadvantage and decisively beats Fury, would you rank Usyk as the #1 P4P fighter?
Yes I would. I think when you clean out the top 2 weight classes and beat Fury you have earned that spot.
Then as soon as Canelo unifies and if Spence/ Crawford unifies 147 and 154, then it will be time to reasses.
He'd be the male fighter since Holyfield to be undisputed in two weight divisions and the first of the four belt era (unless Canelo or Crawford become undisputed at 175/147 before that happened).
So yes, easily.
Canelo & Crawford always seem to get more credit because they've been champion in more divisions than Usyk, but becoming undisputed in the top two divisions by beating Fury would be special.
