Who’s leading the race for FOTY?

It’s November now so not long to go before the year is out. There have been some good individual wins but nobody has had multiple quality wins this year. Fury and Usyk both have one quality win each, Josh Taylor unified 140 but has only fought once this year, Canelo will possibly have two good wins and will have unified 168 so I suppose he has to be in conversation too if he beats Plant. Cool Boy Steph is the clear 2021 Fighter Of The Year. The two judges that had it 8-4 were spot on last night. I had the same card.

Martin winning might be upset of the year on paper but it doesn’t make him fighter of the year. No way. Mikey was nowhere near a p4p top ten fighter anymore. i fully agree with that too lol I don't know who is the fighter of the year. Canelo was the 1st person to beat BJS, and he did it by stoppage, and now BJS ia considering retirement. Canelo will br the first person to beat Plant, and I suspect he'll do it by knockout. Throw in Canelo's KO win over his mandatory (Yildrim) it's hard not to consider Canelo's undisputed unification more impressive than Taylor's win over Ramirez. Canelo will have this in the bag soon.

Canelo-Plant winner Josh Taylor Figueroa-Cool Boy Steph winner The Charlo-Castano winner would have been a good candidate. Usyk had a great win for himself but not enough for FOTY imo. Ruiz beat Joshua more impressively.

It's got to be Usyk. Sure, if Canelo beats Plant those are two quality wins but he was the favourite in both of those. Usyk beating the odds to dethrone one of the heavyweight kingpins after coming up in weight from Cruiser is a monumental achievement, and that's saying nothing of the tremendous skill, focus and guts he showed to do it. I think Fury v Wilder has to be fight of the year, but Fury was the heavy favourite in that so I don't think it's a fighter of the year kind of performance even though it was very good.

If Canelo wins he got 2 qualify wins this year vs top competition most guys have only fought once this year. If he loses I give it to Usyk he def deserves it.

Probably gonna be Canelo if he beats Plant by default. Those are two solid wins vs just one for pretty much everyone else. No clear favorites this year.
