His training was weak, Emanuel Steward has a track record of having his fighters put it all on the line in the first couple of rounds and I believe something wasnt right in training. The fact is Wladimir through like a wild man and fought at such a high pace it would tire any man out. Wladimir also probably thought that if he would give it all to him in the first half of the fight he wouldnt be able to stand and he would crush him...Plus they probably also thought that if Wladimir used the same tactic that Sanders did on him he wouldnt be vulnerable to such an attack again....
I think it was preparation more than anything else, Steward exhausts his fighters....It is and always will be a problem with Stewards training techniques...So I think you can see where I point the blame.
Half-true. lennox lewis was the exact opposite, an ironic exception. He was often criticised for being too cautious.
I don't see Cotto staying at 140 for long, even Hatton has a weight problem, so it wouldn't surprise me if Hatton moves to 147. Maybe this is the reason Mayweather is also moving up, who knows???
Hatton just won the reputable IBF title. If he moves up to 147, it'd have to be for title fight. I doubt he will move up any time soon, at least for the next year or two because I doubt he would be able to secure a title shot against the undisputed judah.
What I mean is that his face looks chubby. I see a couple of sets of chins on him.
holy shit
that chick gets creamed by that sprinter! she would have hit the ground hard!
yeah but on the street you don't have to just punch, so karate may even be an advantage in the street. but in the ring with 16 oz gloves on you'd pick the boxer!
actually van damme was ranked #2 when he was competing in International Karate tournaments. I got that from a $3 doco called: "Best fighters" Man i never thought that would ever come in handy.
hatton fights a high octane, endurance and explosive-power fight. tszyu is a european style boxer with heavy punches, who likes to score and fights predominately at slower paces.
this kind of stylistic matchup would be favourable to hatton
if kostya would fight hatton again he'd have to change his style somewhat to beat him. but i reckon he definitely could
Hatton isn't a nobody, he proved it by beating the best in the division and in my opinion the fighter who is still currently the best (tszyu's my main man). he fought the right fight against an il-prepared kostya (style wise) and came off on top. I doubt if he would win the rematch though, i think kostya could definitely pull off a victory.
But hatton-mayweather? hatton roughs mayweather up for 10 rounds or so. Mayweather is slick and fairly powerful but he isn't invincible. No ONE has ever fought mayweather right. Not the way he should be fought to beat him. He is beatable!!
I put $30 on Kostya Tszyu winning by round 6 against Hatton. I obviously didn't win anything.
My most memorable gambling experience has been at the races or on the roulette wheel in the casino
The only thing i've ever worried about Cotto was the fast combos he'd throw, they were lethal but now he doesnt throw them Hatton can just walk through.
People who says Cotto is stronger than Hatton just dont realise how wrong they are, If you can out muscle a strength freak like Tszyu then your fucking strong. Even when i was lifting i'd struggle with 140kg bench(Tszyu lifts that), that a heavy ass weight for a 10st fighter.
140?? i thought he lifted 120kg. which is still excellent for someone who's what? 5'7? where'd you hear about that? that's impressive man. Lote Tuquiri benches 160kg and he's like 6'3 or 6'4 and weighs like 110-115 kg
Winky never faced a puncher like Tito. I was originally leaning towards Winkey in the fight but I have come aroung to thinking this is a stronger more skilled Tito. He'll win and very possibly by KO.
yeah, since his loss to nard tito has turned it up a gear. yeah i know he's only had two fights since then but the improvement is immediately noticeable. still, i think tito should be fighting someone like sam soliman instead.
yeah mundine apparently weighed almost 190lbs when playing for st george/illawara. mundine is a very professional athelete, don't know about toney though.
i think winky will want to win this fight big to get that recongition that he craves. it'll put him in the firing line and tito will capitilise and knock him out in the 10th round
This is a non-question when Ruiz was ROBBED in both fights!
yeah i swear that's true. ruiz is the greatest to ever don a pair of gloves. it's just that nobody realises it yet
Please post this up again. I've dreamt about watching this sparring session. Soliman is definitly a force to be reckoned with, and godamn the tszyu man is tough!
mayweather would still lose to KT :)
I predict a Kostya comeback, beating the heck out of the soon to be unified champion Mayweather at the age of 36...and doing it in style
lewis has quite an impressive resume wouldn't you say?
those 2 losses to McCall and Rahman really could have been avoided. But i guess they just made him stronger.
Meh. Tszyu got outworked by a younger, hungrier fighter. End of story.
yes but tszyu will come back emphatically in the rematch. fought anywhere in the world, at any time!
Did you read what I wrote. Have you ever even seen Sweet Pea because I cant believe you are asking these question. Look at his record. All he does is score points. I think you have it in your head like he runs or something. He doesnt run. He goes in circles but is always in close range so he can land. Also he has been hit by hard punchers before and Tszyu wont land that many clean shots on him. Tszyu never hurt Tackie and Urkal gave him problems. He wont come close to hurting Whitaker. He doesnt hit harder then JCC. Also, Sweet Pea would be landing a bunch of punches on Tszyu and they will effect him. He may not stop him but he will respect Whitaker's punches
jcc hits harder than tszyu? sorry but i cannot agree here. judah and mitchell both held their own until they felt the power of tszyu and then they retreated into a shell until they got finished. in my opinion it would happen to pernell too.
