Future Hall Of Famer Kostya Tszyu has revealed that if he returns to the ring it will have to be a rematch with IBF 140 pound champion Ricky Hatton, who he lost the championship to on June 4th in Manchester, England via 11th round TKO.
Tszyu said. "If I decide that I want to fight again it will be a rematch with Hatton."
Johnny Lewis, who trains Kostya, is against a comeback for the the former unified champion. Boris Tszyu, the father of Kostya, is in favour of his son returning to ring action.
Boris Tszyu said. "For Kostya to achieve all he has in his career and then walk away after this - it would be wrong."
If my memory serves me correctly, he sued his "then" manager for not including a rematch clause in the contract.. However he lost the court case and it cost him $4,000,000.
Anorak... I'm 98% sure I'm right on this one...
nah your wrong .it was becouse kostya wanted to change managers
but was still contracted to his existing manager.they settled it out in court .ended up costing kostya 7 million.
hatton fights a high octane, endurance and explosive-power fight. tszyu is a european style boxer with heavy punches, who likes to score and fights predominately at slower paces.
this kind of stylistic matchup would be favourable to hatton
if kostya would fight hatton again he'd have to change his style somewhat to beat him. but i reckon he definitely could
i hope floyd fights hatton, he will destroy him and all his fans will have to eat their words
Nobodys good enough to destroy Hatton, if Mayweather does win its gonna be a late TKO or points win, i think Hatton will win it though.
hatton will beat tzyu every time they fought, the only fighter in with a chance of beating ricky is floyd mayweather jr, everyone was saying a 35yr old tzyu is a better fighter than a 25yr old tzyu, so know one can say he was past his best, and people who say ricky got help from the ref shouldnt be watching boxing, its like listening to man utd fans when they lose, it was because of this or it was because of that, tzyu got beat by a better fighter, end of...
id like to see hatton mayweather, but that would mean that when hatton fights tszyu, there will be no belts involved. i also think cotto takes tszyu to school, but maybe im just buying into the hype. i agree that if tszyu loses again, it takes away from hattons original defeat of him. I think its better for both of thier careers to have a reamtch first,(in the U.S) then get beat by mayweather and cotto later. haha
LMAO
Thats not how i see the fights happening, you must like the relaxed approach, i like an aggressive puncher.
I honestly think if the two fights happen, Hatton and Tsyzu will be holding the belts.
I'd like to see anyone against Carlos Maussa, i've been watching a few of his fights and he's just pure entertainment.
Tszyu vs Cotto & Hatton vs Mayweather
I'd expect Tszyu to beat Cotto inside the distance, but if he doesnt at least we know Cotto's the real deal, beating Tszyu pretty much proves your genuine P4P elite.
Hatton vs Mayweather is a real toss up, i'd favour Hatton on styles but i wouldnt be suprised if Mayweather won. You just cant tell how these would match up, its even more interesting than Hatton vs Tszyu. This fight has got to happen, both fighter have the balls for it so its all about location and money.

The last thing a Hatton fan would want right now is for Tszyu to get embarrassed by anyone else, for it would cheapen Hatton's win.
Yeah, kinda like when Williams beat Tyson, everyone thought it was a good win until McBride beat him too.
I doubt anyone could do that to Tszyu though, regardless of the "quit" situation he's a tough fighter.
Hatton can maybe take Cotto, he will not beat Mayweather, and I'd be favoring Tszyu if they fought again.
I obviously dont agree but thats what makes the divison so interesting, its hard to tell who's the very best. Only by fighting each other can we really find out.
who do you think they should fight?

I respect Tszyu, i just dont think a rematch is the right thing now, him and Hatton need to face other people before another showdown.

No one will hold Tszyu quitting against him he's already in his late 30's and been a dominate champion for ages. He's at the at the end and he wasn't the first great to quit on his stool at the end of there careers and he wont be the last.

Tszyu already committed career Tszyuicide by quitting on his stool. Even if he comes back to beat Hatton, it's probably too late to salvage that wreck.
