My point is this: When Tszyu was to fight Mitchell, the boxing world was relatively split between who they thought would win. In many polls, Mitchell came out on top by small margins.
After Tszyu destroyed a sloppy Sharmba, many people were quick to dismiss Mitchell as average, saying he hadnt fought anyone etc etc, which took away from the win.
I'm just wondering if this will happen after the Hatton fight should Tszyu win? Will people's suspicions that Hatton has not left his backyard and is a pretender take the shine off what would be a great win in hostile territory? Or will Tszyu get the props he derserves?
Just curious :)
In my opinion Tszyu will have a relatively easy time getting to Ricky hatton. Here is my reasonsing. At first the fight might be neck and neck as Hatton does throw punches in bunches and he does try to at least come to fight. However here is the problem While this might work for a round or two against Tszyu it wont work for long. Hatton, like Mizelchelski, Valuev, and Calzaghe have had precisely guided careers. They only fight in their little small niche of the world and are sheltered from the "Real" boxing world. Their opponents are hand picked to perfectly match up against thier style making them look as though they are unstoppable and are the complete boxing package. Tzsyu has fought everyone and not ducked anybody. he has been able to fight people of varying styles and ability level and has been in the "Deep water". Much Like Jermain Taylor, and Kermit Cintron, I think that Hatton is being prematurly fed to the lions. Hatton will get caught in the deep water and not know what to do. Hatton is not adaptable in the ring and has not fought anyone nearly on the level of a Kotsya Tzsyu. Notice Tzsyu's fights earlier in 04' when asked about Hatton he commented Hatton who? This kid was not even on his radar. Hatton hadn't made a name for himself then and still has not made a name for himself. He has not beat any of the trial horses necessary to get to the title, and he has been unwilling to try out any of the other budding talent in the division. You dont get to the champion by beating B class and over the hill fighters. Now if Hatton had beat Lovemore N Dou (one of the divisions gatekeepers) or Demarcus Corley or Hurtado or someone like that then maybe he would be prepped for a title shot. In my opinion he is not ready and when he gets caught in the deep water Tzsyu is going to take him out at that point.
Thats quite a post for only your second....welcome to the site! :)
Hatton looses his head

Tracy why did you hijack this thread. Next time you plan on hijacking a thread from original purpose be sure to put this sign up to let everybody know your intentions..
I completely expect KT to win this one by ko, or tko (on cuts or otherwise) but I have to give Hatton a little credit by not saying it will be 'easy' for KT. Hatton does have an impressive body attack and can be quite brutal with it, and having thousands of fans backing him up does wonders for the morale...I do stand by my opinion of KT getting the win, but not necessairly an easy one.

this sign.................. :hijacked:
Youre not alone there, alot of people thought Mitchell was gonna be a problem for him (thankfully I, for ONCE, wasnt one though :D ) so thats not so shameful. Like I said, I fully expect this to be Tszyu's fight, but he's not going to just walk into the ring and pop Hatton once or twice and then go home. He will have to work for it a little atleast. Hatton may fight in his own back yard all the time, and his record may be a little 'soft' in places, but he is still a solid fighter with an amazing body attack, which Tszyu will feel. Moving the head is easy, but the body doesnt exactly go anywhere. I'm sure KT can take it, but he will be feeling it the next day for sure. Otherwise this fight wouldnt be worth watching...not if there wasnt some competition.

I dont know much about Hatton, but I doubt that KT is just gonna come out and brutalize him like most think is gonna happen. Then again, I thought that Sharmba was gonna give him trouble.

Ive already given props to tszyu. he's the best. but he took this easy hatton fight for the money. he's been smiling at his bankbook ever since he was vacationing in russia and got the offer. the chances of him getting hurt are almost nil. and it could be a typical zoo fight and be a short one. second tier hatton is like the son and tszyu is the dad.
this is a good tuneup for tszyu. hopefully he gets in a rematch with zab . and a fight with pussyboyfloyd.
i'd really like to see a corrales/tszyu at 140 before he retires.

I don't see Hatton giving Kostya too many troubles. If Hatton was a tad more experienced (like had he fought vivian harris or emmanuel burton) then I'd say this fight would probably be close.
I expect Zoo to hammer Hatton. Hatton's defense is POOR. Kostya will not be able to miss Hatton.
your opinion doesn't count
so shut your arrogant ass up
For real...I hate when people make a two or three word comment and give nothing to back up that 'opinion'. How the hell do you debate with something like that anyway?
