tszyu vs hatton bench press

To a certain extent, physical strength will inevitably affect punching power, but the right movement and form can tremendously affect any fighter's punch, regardless of size. Take Foreman, who was extremely strong but compromised his power through the improper execution of many of his punches. However Joe Louis and Rocky Marciano, who were both significantly smaller than George, had excellent power due to strength to some extent, but also due to their short, compact punches. IMO, building upper body strength should probably not be at the top of a fighter's priority list, as it will limit flexibility at some point. Proper execution however, kicks ass lol

I know that tszyu lifts 120kgs.

Shoulders, back, neck muscles, triceps, legs are used when punching. But strong shots wont come from lifting weights it comes from hitting heavy bags, some people just dont hit hard and its not like they can be made to hit hard, looks at Hitman, Tito, Arguello, Sanchez those guys didnt have huge muscles like Mosely, Hopkins, Winky, but they hit hard as hell

what lifts are important for boxing? Curls? :confused: legs and full body movements biceps are useless only do pullups n chin ups

i curl only on my jab arm,it affects my jab more than anything

I was told Tszyu can lift upto 140kg, that would be a hell of a lot for his size. Tszyu can bench more than Hatton but Tszyu throws a lot more straight shots so i'd expect him to lift straight too. Hattons a hooker so your'll probably find him being very strong at bench flys and because he throws a lot of body shots with angles he lifts a lot on his legs, you can tell because they are bigger than Tszyu's.

Yes, the bench press would not necessarily prove who can hit harder. Now, obviously, if one guy bench presses 200 lbs and the other can do 500 lbs, probably the guy lifting 500 could hit harder. Tszyu is the more accurate puncher, and definitely seems like the harder hitter. I just have a feeling Hatton might have a better chin, at least at this point. However, I don't think it will matter as Tszyu should knock him out within 8.

does anyone know whos stronger? I know tszyu can bench around twice his weight. Does nebody know what hatton can bench so i can gauge his strength against tszyus. Who cares bench doesnt meen nothin man
