In both of Brian Sutherland's professional fights he faked getting KO'd because he knew that he might kill his opponent.
Yep, I could tell in that first fight he took a second to think about whether he wanted to go down or not...thankfully for his opponent Sutherland took a dive. I've never seen that type of humility in all my years of watching boxing...
Hopefully my vote can be put in the non-biased category and helps clear up some of the debate.
I've been a pretty big boxing fan for quite some time and I watch the sports in terms of going to see local events, FNF, watch all the undercards, etc.
My $.02 is that Mayweather clearly won no matter how you slice it. It's common to hear that he doesn't have a fan - friendly fighting style but hey boxing is hit and don't be hit. Too many "casual fans" or "bandwaggoners" want to see a Rocky - Drago type of fight EVERY time but real life boxing doesn't work that way.
My personal score card was 9-3 in favor of Mayweather. Pac is a heck of a fighter but he simply lost to a better fighter, no shame in that.
Victor is trying too hard to convince himself that he still has it. I've never been a fan of his but I respect any fighter that enters the ring. Can he beat some amateur fighters from FNF? Of course he can.
Will he beat B level plus competition I don't see it happening. The dedication and mentality just isn't there for him. He just unravels in the ring and hopefully he doesn't get seriously injured.
I give credit to anyone who steps in the ring no matter what. However, I didn't see much from Horn that you don't see from boxers on Friday night fights. Horn was using dirty tactics throughout the fight and kept doing so because the ref didn't do anything about it. Aside from that Horn was getting outclassed, not necessarily Pac's greatest body of work but still winning comfortably.
From an honest perspective, I guess the moral victory would be that Horn made it out of the 9th round and lasted until the bell rang in the 12th. Good job by Horn for hanging tough and showing the will to keep going but by no means in any way, shape, or form did he defeat Pac.
Horn would not be competitive against Floyd. I'm not necessarily a fan of Teddy Atlas but I'm glad at least someone vented live on TV about what took place. Any average joe that doesn't really even watch boxing can see that Pac clearly won the fight.
I find it embarrassing that Horn and anyone else for that matter would even consider comparing him to the likes of Mayweather, Thurman, Spence, etc.
I believe that it would be close in the first 6 rounds but Ward will adapt better in the second half of the fight and cruise to a UD decision.
Ward would neutralize him like he did to Froch. Not saying Joe isn't going to be competitive but Ward just rises to the occasion like he did during the super 6 tourney.
Maidana will look lost after 3-4 rounds and Garcia will say dumb things like "you hurt him, he doesn't want to fight, keep attacking him" when in reality Mayweather will already be boxing circles around him...
Kudos on the retirement comment
But how can you retire when you make a cool 9 million in what , three minutes or wtv the fugh it was
I tip my hat to these mofo’s for having the ability to do that , the same way me or you would
Tell you what , I had the opportunity to see May live and hévéas is something special
We were sitting close to ringside and we couldn’t count fast enough the amount of punches he would throw in combo
Imo , Pac is or was faster , would of love to have witnessed that live
Yep, you're spot on regarding the opportunity to make that kind of money in a short time. I just feel with them retired it has all the top fighters looking to fight each other versus having them hope to fight May or Pac.
Dang, lucky you having those seats! I'm sure Pac would be hard to keep up with in between blinking a few times and trying to keep track.
How can you give credit for foul clinching? IV drops to mask his PEDs? Paid USADA 6 times the norm amount since he is the fighter and promoter? Judges lopsided biased score card. Compublind stats that are padded. Does that sound like fair game?
Wakeup. Post rewind doesn't support Floyd's fake win.
The one who landed more and connected more was and is the one armed fighter with a busted right shoulder against a roided up fighter who decided to run and hug for 12 queer rounds.
So NO. No credit for that lame stunt.
The same PED argument can easily be debated against PAC over several years/fights but I don't go there. Judges biased scorecard?
Just read your post and it has bias all over it. Do you have a theory for all of Pac's losses or just the loss to Mayweather?
Regardless of any controversy surrounding Pac I have given him his due credit and so have others. Surely you don't have a personal vendetta against Mayweather for defeating Pac?
Kermit cintron is #1 rated in the USBA.
Zab Judah is still a decent fighter and still dangerous.
Dusty Harrison won a bull**** unanimous decision, total robbery on fox sports in PA, so realistically your sarcastic comments really mean absolutely nothing. And yes he is a warrior, try watching a few of his fights before you make stupid comments.
Umm....:wtf:
I'm surprised Pac is still pursuing this as there are other routes he could take for some easy paydays. However, he should hang up the gloves already in my opinion and retire as one of the greats.
Mayweather did beat Pac convincingly though and it seems odd that people still debate it to this day. The arguments using these weird angle photos, slow motion videos, over analytical stuff of how Pac allegedly "won" is pretty embarrassing though when he clearly lost.
Those arguments are just never ending cycles of desperation to just deny, deny, deny. Hopefully nobody on this forum still does this all these years later as it just makes you lose creditability and just makes people not take you seriously.
I agree that he wants to keep away from Crawford. Mikey knows that if he doesn't provide notice in advance that the "Do you want Crawford next" questions will immediately come his way and vice versa.
Mikey doesn't want to answer that question in the ring after the fight if he wins, which imo he does so he has prepared his exit strategy in advance.
Dude stick to the fight.
May vs Pac fight.
It's a FAKE WIN doesn't deserve a win.
Who got caught sticking needles in his house? Was it Pac?
Who got caught needing a TUE after 2 weeks of the fight which mean technically floyd went in illegaly and got absolved.
This cannot be disputed.
That said, did pac ever failed a drug test in all his career? Canelo did. Floyd did and covered it up. To the extent Pac won a defamation suit against his name coz the mayweathers were accusing him of cheating without proof, but when Pac's lawyer wanted those failed test of Floyd to come out. They had no choice but to pay Pac and clear his name since Floyd's taint was about to come out. That alone tells you who really is cheating. Anyway. I don't expect you to get it.
Ok, I was happy to continue debating and even respecting you until the last sentence.
Again, it's the petty comments you make that expose the bias you have against anyone that believes Mayweather won. I at least respected your opinion and gave Pac his credit. You creditability for debate just goes out the window with most users on the forum.
I do think you're knowledgeable about the sport but the bias just compromises your judgement. I'll continue on with the others who even though don't agree with me can still carry on a decent conversation.
Thanks anyways for the brief sports talk and no hard feelings, it's just a forum.
Why wouldn't Floyd want a rematch? If you watch the fight again Pacquiao clearly won.
Sure you have to watch the fight in super slow motion with the sound off, a Jesus candle lit, and hotel California playing in the background. But if you do, you can see Pac won.
:haha: Good stuff...
Wow, I suspected necroposting when I saw this thread but it seems this debate is somehow still going after so much time has passed.
Mayweather won the fight and it seemed pretty clear cut. From what I've gathered thru public opinion is that people are so hung up on him losing in general, to anyone, so long as he loses. Pac just couldn't pull off the upset, no shame in that.
Putting the personal stuff aside and just exclusively focusing on Mayweather, the boxer, he is the best of this generation, period...just my $.02
lol
Intentional clinching is not allowed in boxing. Floyd used it coz he had no answers for Pac. Those are lame foul tactics that he got away in Vegas.
Thus Vegas saves Floyd again..
Here's an education video about the Queensberry Rules of boxing.
What not to do in boxing:
Number 2 rule : NO wrestling or HUGGING allowed @ 0:39
The Right way. Dodge, bob weave and throw a 3 punch combo then clinch.
https://s2.gifyu.com/images/furyd4.gif
The wrong way.
No need to dodge or bob and weave just HUG IT OUT

LEARN THE DIFFERENCE. FLOYD GOT A WAY WITH TOO MUCH FOULING AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE THAT.
#ONLYINVEGAS
I've been civil with you unlike others but the fact that you can't give Mayweather credit where it's due is why your arguments fall flat in the forums.
Taking the approach of videos, learn boxing, blah blah is lame as most of us here, you and I included, know boxing quite well. There is no perfect fighter or a textbook fight that any of us have watched where we can't point out a flaw, even less, when we have an obvious bias against a fighter.
