WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is currently in Australia, where the eight division beltholder is taking part in a multi-city promotional tour to promote his summer fight with Jeff Horn.

Pacquiao will defend his title against Horn at the Suncorp Stadium on July 2 [July 1 in the United States], with over 50,000 fans expected to attend.

During some of his media commitments, the Filipino superstar was unable to escape the subject of Floyd Mayweather Jr.

In the most financially successful fight in boxing history, Mayweather won a twelve round decision over Pacquiao in May 2015.

There was no controversy over the outcome, but Pacquiao has always insisted that he was robbed of a victory on the scorecards.

After the fight, Pacquiao said his performance was affected because of a shoulder injury which he insists occurred in the fourth round of the fight.

Mayweather retired from the sport in September  2015. Pacquiao himself retired in April 2016, but then came back in November 2016 to win the WBO world title with a twelve round decision over Jessie Vargas.

"I'd love to [do a rematch with Mayweather], especially because my shoulder is fixed already, but it depends on him. If he wants to fight again. If I stay in boxing, there is always a chance that its possible to have a rematch. I never think that I lost that fight," Pacquiao told the AFL Footy Show.

Many insiders are surprised that a rematch never took place, because of the money involved in a second fight. Their 2015 contest generated over $600 million in revenue and over 4.6 million buys on pay-per-view. No boxing pay-per-view since has been able to crack a million buys. A rematch, even if it did 40% of the original business, would still be one of the most lucrative events of all-time.

Mayweather, now 40 years old, is willing to fight again - but only in a cross-sports boxing match with UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
