Is Amir Khan One Of The Fighters Of The Decade? (Or The Outright #1?) *Official Poll*
Wins against:
Malignaggi, Maidana, McCloskey, Zab Judah, Carlos Molina, Julio Diaz, Collazo, Devon Alexander, Algieri, Phil Lo Greco, Samuel Vargas, Billy Dib
I think we can all agree that Khan could have avenged most of his losses in the same way AJ avenged the Ruiz loss, had his opponents been willing to face him again - with the exception of Alvarez, which was always a 60-40 fight because of the size advantage. And indeed Crawford is always a 50-50 fight so a Khan win wouldn't be guaranteed in the rematch but quite plausible all the same.
Most people thought he beat Peterson but that fight was full of corruption, with Peterson on PEDs, the ref taking 2 points off Khan for "pushing" and the scorecards being tampered with by an unauthorized person, live on camera! Possibly one of the most corrupt fights in recorded history, considering the multi-layered levels of corruption involved.
And as we know, Khan tried to chase fights with Mayweather, Pacquiao, Marquez and Bradley, collectively for 10 years but he was avoided at every turn and hoodwinked at every hurdle. His relentless pursuit of Pacquiao still continues to this day, and it goes without saying if Floyd announced his return, Khan would jump at the chance to challenge him to a fight, even knowing full-well he'd be avoided yet again.
So there we have it, where should we rightfully place Khan in the Fighter of the Decade list.. Top 10, Top 5, Top 3 or the Number 1?
