that fight was NEVER going the distance. 1st big shot was likely to win it, and it did. Good thing it finished quick, now i can focus on the Pac/Marquez undercard.
i score on basis on effective pressure, ring generalship, defence and offence. who i prefer doesnt effect the scoring ( for me ).
I had dirrel winning and kessler winning by the end of both fights. Froch has heart and a will to win but lacks the pure boxing skills that the elite fighters of the division have.
yup all the people in this thread hate froch. I can find numerous posts from all the posters above that have said horrible things about froch. My point is well ansd truely proven....
bullshit. i actually enjoy watching Froch fight, he pretty much always puts on a good show. You're clearly bias towards the man and it affected ure viewing of the fight. Froch put up a good effort but he lost by at LEAST 2 rounds.
You are only as good as the people you face but I dont think Floyd has faced enough tests in his career to be considered the greatest. I think any modern day fighter will struggle considering the old timers fought much more.
i dont see why that is the case. take ANY other sport for example. These days athletes ( as a whole ) are bigger, stronger, faster ... just generally better.
I dont see why boxing would be much different.
so funny how people keep saying this, floyd would clinch and lock pac up the way he did shane.
mosley wasnt quick enough to get the combos off to finish it before floyd was able to clinch. that might not be the case with manny, who knows.
Mayweather was badly rocked by the first shot and fought a conservative fight afterwards. Pacquiao hits harder than Mosley and throws much more than Mosley, add that to a fragile chin and it spells KO.
mosley has a higher KO % so and thats against bigger guys, so I doubt very much Manny hits harder. And it wasnt the 1st shot that landed, mosley landed a few punches in the 1st ...it was the 1st BIG shot and i think it caught Mayweather cold, and how many did Mosley land in the fight ? two BIG shots? three maybe. Mayweathers defence = not many shots will land clean, and that will be the case with the Pacquiao fight.
ure fragile chin comment is bs btw.
All he did was prove his chin is weak. Pacquiao will smash it into a million pieces.
proved his chin is weak ? he took 2 huge shots and didnt go down. I think that proves the opposite. Plus on raw power mosley > manny.
I dont think pacquiao will have an answer to break down floyd. JMM in a lot of people eyes beat Manny when they fought and he was probably the best technical boxer pacquiao has fought. and mayweather school JMM.
but i think if manny rocked floyd like mosley did in the 2nd round he would have done a better job of finishing..
he was also completely useless during the fight
i disagree, when we got to hear he was givin shane the best advise he could but shane wasn't following it up
have any of you guys even watched couture in his last performances?
-brock excluded ( where for the record he tried to box against )
-he tried to box big nog and was rocked ,
-he was a bit more wrestly against vera, tho more just pushing him up to the cage and dirty boxing.
-and again he stood with coleman and boxed.
I dont think he will outright stand with Toney for the fight, but i doubt itll start and he'll just shoot in for a double leg takedown. He'll most likely stand and try land a jab or two, then try get toney up to the cage and try dirty box.
In summary, I think Randy's punch resistence has deminished in the last few years and if he gets caught at all, Toney is gonna finish him. But if he can nuetralise Toney's hands then he'll win.I'll be tuning in regardless.
my only grievance with the problem is that Froch goes on about being a warrior and says hes going over to knock the guy out. well if thats the case where does it matter where the fight is? go over and dont leave it for the judges. That, or stop talking shite.

sounds like he was taking the piss, but pretending he meant it. Either way id rather have the story : " David Haye asked me to do 20 push ups and i told him to **** off" than "David Haye gave me an autograph" ( with or without the push ups )
i wouldnt be surprised if Freddy calls it a day when pac retires and or/ parting ways with khan if it happens.
he's had a great career as a trainer and he should take time taking care of himself. Though whatever he decides to do , i wont bash it.
theres a few " cheats " in the game,
some people are able to spam punches all round without seeming to lose any stamina,
some people exploit the parry/ stepping mechanics so literally every punch u throw is countered with a straight right.
that being said, id say 70% of the players do try box. most arent very good but u get the odd awesome fight that goes down to the last round.
( im commenting for both xbox and ps3 )
its not like he took a brutal beat down or was in a war. he lay on his back for 2mins, ate some light shots and then tapped out.
October is plenty of time for the recovery.
double edged sword for the UFC
on one hand many mma fans will feel their sport is superior, on the other side the card was pretty aweful bar one fight and thats only because of comparison to the others.
Ive enjoyed the last few UFC events and was really lookin forward to this one, but it was just..bad
kimbo has shown very limited ground game and thus will seek to stand with James Toney..... JAMES ****ING TONEY.
Kimbo throws looping haymakers that someone of toney's pedigree will easily overcome.
Toney via 1st round KO.
mma attracts young people ( im young too ,21) i think because it requires a lot less paying attention and usually offers more of a visual spectacle in the form of very frequent KOs. A lot of people i dont think want to invest their time in a 12 round fight of boxers they dont know.
but boxing has to be promoted far more than it is in the UK anyway, in recent years the only boxing advertising has been "buy this Khan ppv for £15". Thats too steep for any casual fan not interested in any of the undercards and probably not that fussed with Khan too.
