Should Golovkin carry his power to 168, I don't think he'll have much problem dispatching Kessler. However, i don't want to see him move up a division due to the lack of fights at middleweight. Martinez should be fighting him instead of fighting Cotto.
These Fl0mos need to be on suicide watch.
I think Khan speed and will offset Pac speed I think Khan is faster than Pac , Yes I have Pac beating Mayweather pretty easy and winning a close fight to Khan. I have watched every fight of Khan and Mayweather and judging it Khan is a tougher fight for Pac. I really want to see Pac vs Khan more than Pac vs Mayweather.
The punch-stats in this fight will be off the chain. An explosive fight between two quality operators. Stylistically, I think Pacquaio is the harder of the two. This fight has all the hallmarks to be a classic, it's natural sell due to their history with one another. For Manny, it'll be great as it will do great PPV numbers so we can finally put this idiotic nonsense about being the 'B-side' to rest. The most pleasing aspect of this fight will be seeing Haymon become a non-factor when it comes to Khan's future fights.
If Khan was with TR, he would have already got this fight.
Arum, can shove Macau down his throat. No Khan fan is travelling that far, make it in Dubai or Las Vegas, plenty will travel. Dubai makes perfect sense and has a great number of British, Pakistani, American and Filipino expats. Pac and Khan are former stablemates and neither party will try and low-ball the other side so it should be an easy fight to make too. Khan vs Pac is a great fight.
A better business decision can not be viewed as a duck..This is not a play thing or a hobby..This is these guy's career, their profession..If there is a better deal somewhere else then it's Bradley's responsibility to take it tbh..
Khan was KO'd at LW,his whole move to 140lb was a rebuilding stage dude..Now he had started to get steam when he beat Maidana..By this time tho,Bradley relationship with Shaw was really bad and Arum was dangling Pac and a butt load of money in Bradley's face..Again Bradley has responsibility's to his family and to himself to take the best deal out there..This is not a hobby, this is his livelihood..
Khan even publicly called out Bradley to his face and then Bradley in a couple of interview stated that Khan was a dangerous fight. It was a duck, and no different to when Khan ducked Alexander in the hope of landing a Mayweather fight. He was going to get $2 million to fight Khan, so stop using money as an excuse.
But, Stevenson doing the same with Kovalev by switching channels was a duck.
It was, but I'm saying that with Bradley it is kinda cute how his fan defend that. "Which deal would you take doe?". Yes, Khan did duck Devon.
It's just the usual crap people out with to take a dig at Khan. Just a while ago someone posted that Khan's not a 'big name'. It's odd and stupid, the nonsensical stuff that people come out with is mind boggling.
It's Khan's obsession with Floyd that has given him a lot of problems. It was the reason why he passed up on Alexander, and a massive reason as to why he overlooks his opponents. As soon as Bradley moved up to 147, Khan should have done the same. That was the only good fight for him. Even now he has a chance to get that big fight, the only obstacle is that he's now with Al Haymon. As i've said on countless occasion, if he can get rid of Al and forget about Mayweather, he can get fights that his name should command. Sit down with Oscar and make fights against the likes of Pacquaio, Rios and Bradley.
Rome it's pointless carrying this conversation on, we aren't going anywhere. To me it will always be a duck and to you it won't. By your logic, everyone should chase the money, I can't blame the boxers for doing that but i'm a boxing fan, when i see a duck i'll call it as it is. Your logic is ruining boxing and it's the reason why some boxers like Rigondeaux are avoided. The best should fight the best and there's no reason why Khan shouldnt have fought Alexander when he was the IBF champ. Likewise, there was no reason for Bradley not fighting Khan when he was also a unified champ at 140.
The problem TS is having is that he believe's Bradley and Khan are even close to the same position..News flash is that their not..
Khan even at the time him and Bradley was suppose to mix it up was not really on level with Bradley..His fans and the media tried to spin it this way but it just was not true..Bradley had called out Pac after beating Peterson(come break down this wall Manny,remember)..This same yr Khan was laid out flat on his back by a never was/and never will be in Prescott..
Khan loss back to back losses and since has still yet to get a creditable win..Now while his win over Collazo was a step in the right direction,it's not enough to bring him back in the Mayweather fold..He still has not had a win of note in going on 3 yrs..
Bradley was a underfeated two time unified Champion at 140lb,and let's not forget was changing promoters..Bradley and Khan was in different situations..
Khan was also a unified champion in the 140lb division. Bradley even came out and admitted he was plainly ducking khan. I can't paraphrase exactly what he said but it was along the lines of 'its a risky fight and if i lose where do i go from there'. Khan was also a bigger draw than Bradley, bringing better viewing figures on HBO and receiving a larger purse, despite that Khan was willing to go 50-50 to make that fight happen. Bradley didn't want any part of Khan.
Bradley himself has been fortunate to not have losses against Pacquaio and Provodnikov.
I won't mind either fight.
Floyd vs Khan or Khan vs Pacquaio.
I wouldn't mind a fight with Bradley or Rios. It doesn't have to be Pacquaio. I just want to see Khan on HBO and providing he wins, he gets his big fight. TR was always the best place for Khan, it's a shame that he hasn't realised that.
That's the double standard against Floyd. People love to crap on the dude whenever possible.
Personally I think it's a good enough fight for either guy but I'm not sure it will live up to Floyd's standard of revenue since that bar is set pretty damn high.
I'll be happy to see Khan stick it to Mayweather, in fact i hope a fight between them two never happens.
The same can be said for Khan. Marquez, Ortiz, Guerrero and Maidana, all deserve a shot but Khan doesn't. It just doesn't make any sense.
No. This fight is way more lucrative for Khan than a Mayweather fight will ever be. Khan has never chased the money, that's been his biggest mistake, he's wanted the glory even though it's been detrimental to his career. In an interview with a British interviewer he's stated that he was going to be paid 'peanuts' for a fight with Mayweather. That won't be the case with Pacquaio.
Again,Bradley two time unified Champion..
Khan was playing catch up,and on his first rebuilding stage..What is this now his 3rd??
Had nothing to do with Bradley not wanting to fight Khan..Had everything to do with who is offering the better deal..Which TR was,2mill to fight Khan for one fight..Or sign with TR get Casa for 1.2mill and then Pac for 5mill..He was signed to a three fight deal tho,so let's not forget about the 1.7 mill..Which deal do you take, just curious..
Khan wasn't rebuilding at all, he was a two time world champion with victories over Maidana, Paulie, Kotelnik and Judah.
When Khan beat Maidana and then won the IBF against Judah it was one of the most requested fights. Yes, Bradley made the best decision for him financially but that doesn't alter the fact that he ducked Khan.
It's not just Bradley, though. There's so many more that you could pose the question of whether they 'deserve' it or not. However, I commend Bradley for making a move that Khan should have done. Khan's a retard, he's been so fixated about beating Floyd, that he had officially lost the plot. Hopefully, now that Arum has dangled a carrot he can somehow force Al Haymon's hand and get over on HBO. Khan vs Pacquaio has always been the biggest fight for him.
@ thread maker, do you still remember Khan avoiding Devon Alexander last year because he thought the Mayweather fight was in the bag just like Bradley did to him before Pacquiao? Against a guy who Bradley bullied in the ring in Alexander! Pot calling the kettle black! LOL.
Yes, that was a duck. He should have taken that fight and it would have been good to see Khan vs Devon regardless of the belt being on the line. Khan could have then made a fight with Pacquaio even more meaningful with that belt.
It's hilarious to see people defend a drug cheat like Peterson. He was even stripped of his wba title, and still somehow holds the IBF even though Matthysse blitzed him.
Alexander himself should have already taken a loss prior to his fight against Bradley.
Bizzare for Ward to come out with those comments when the majority of Ward's fights have taken place in America. The winner of Froch vs Groves should make him travel for a fight or just ignore him.
Khan is a shit fight for any top opponent at this point. The only positive thing this fight would bring would be a sign that the Cold War is coming to an end.
Coming from a guy with Marquez as an avatar. Marquez beloved trainer, Nacho, advised against Marquez fighting Khan.
It's a shit fight because Khan has done nothing as of late to deserve this type of fight. However, given that Pacquiao has lost his killer instinct and is on the decline, I can see Khan making the final bell and putting up a decent fight, outboxing Manny in spots.
That didn't stop Marquez getting a shot at Mayweather even though he was going life and death with Katsidis. Marquez was a **** fight, and it showed on the night with Marquez getting outclassed and being put on his arse in the process. Khan's much more deserving than him and doesn't cherrypick or duck live opponents.
I don't think he wants Maidana again, whom he already beat.
Have you read Maidanas' comments this week? That guy doesn't want a Khan rematch. Lastly, there's no need for one as Khan has already beaten Maidana convincingly.
9 f*cking pages of khantards explaining why they're hero got booed in his own hometown. LOL classic.
Never knew Khan was born in London. You'll always learn something new on NSB.
It all boils down to the fact that he's Pakistani. The hatred that I've seen him get is unparalleled. Also, this 'asian' tag that I keep reading needs to be dropped and has become such a loose term as of late.
I'm glad Khan boxes in America. Was at the Khan vs Collazo fight, to my surprise, I met many Americans who genuinely liked him. Even in the arena was sat next to a couple from Oregon, they were cheering more loudly for Khan than I, or my mates.
He gets more cheers in the US thats for sure
Although it tends to be large pack crowds that boo Khan here in the UK, however when they see him one to one, they are nice to him
Pack mentality cowards
Yeah, it's nice to see.
I think people's true intentions are displayed in a 'pack mentality', though. Having followed Khan's career and seen the hate directed towards him it's evident that racism has a big part to play when it comes to his detractors.
Says every guy whos ever been ko'd in pro boxing
There was no need to waste your time typing a reply to him. You need to be deluded to make it as a world-class athlete. Groves spoke well, going back to Booth would be an astute move.
An All-Access or 24/7 for a fight of this magnitude would have been fitting. Really impressed by Groves in his last outing, however, i can't see past a Froch win.
Guerrero is an alright fight, but him being Southpaw it isn't a good prep for Floyd if he wins.
Porter or Maidana. Porter more so because of the belt.
Yeah, a fight with Porter makes the most sense. If Porter gets a fight with Floyd in September, Guerrero should be the other option.
If he fights Maidana and wins, people will say he was a cherrypick. Khan should move forward and not go over old ground.
