GEORGE GROVES wants to knock Carl Froch out inside three rounds - even though his trainer is telling him to do it in five.
The 26-year-old Hammersmith fighter faces IBF and WBA super-middleweight champion Froch in their highly-anticipated rematch on Saturday week at Wembley in front of 80,000 fans.
Froch, 36, won the first fight with a ninth-round stoppage, but many believe referee Howard Foster called it off too early.

Because he knocked him down inside a round last time?
Looking forward to this. I reckon we're in for surprise, stylistically. Will Groves bring it to Froch or box on the back foot? Will Froch wait to counterpunch Groves or take the fight to him?
But knocking him down isn't the same as stopping him. I don't think Groves thinks he can stop him in 3 rounds just cos he dropped him early last time.
He is just saying it to annoy Froch.
An All-Access or 24/7 for a fight of this magnitude would have been fitting. Really impressed by Groves in his last outing, however, i can't see past a Froch win.
They have a behind the ropes show coming out which is more or less the same.
They had that for the first one as well.
they also have a face-off which is supposed to be super intense coming out saturday night UK time on Skysports 1
Groves playing mind games again is he? Ive no doubt Groves thinks he can beat Froch, but why does he think he can beat Froch in 3 when he couldn't beat Degale in 3 and probably hasn't knocked many fighters who aren't as good as froch in 3?
Mind games and trying to annoy Froch I guess. At least Groves isn't shy, that's a good thing.

It sure is selling the fight, everywhere. Groves knows how to sell a fight, and Froch never had trouble doing that. Never been more hyped.

Did you see Froch in any interviews before the first fight? He looked shook, he just couldn't understand that this kid did not respect him. It got under his skin and he was completely stressed out!
He thought he could beat him within 2-3 rounds because of that KD in sparring, he thought the headgear was what held Groves up.
This time around he'll be a lot more ready.
Not saying that he will win, but Robert McCracken is one of the best trainers in the business, he's seen a lot from the first fight and there will be adjustments to Froch game plan, he did not listen in the start last time just wanted to go out there and blow him out of his socks. Froch is getting old though and this could be the end of him as we know him, but it won't be easy. He's a proud warrior and he's not gonna be mocked. The sergeant always finds a way. But I must say as a BIG Froch fan, this fight is one scary fight.
The mental game is on once again, Froch cooping better. Groves doing what he did last time, to worse effect. Froch training in the hills somewhere away from people, family and friends. It will be a top focused Froch this time around and I think he's punches will have better effect on Groves this time around.
Froch just has to realize that he has to time the counterpunch of Groves, he needs to step back from his jab await the counter and then time it. Question is, is he fast enough. Is Groves too good perhaps. So many questions waiting to get answered and I for one just simply can't wait, these boys has made the best pre-fight stuff I've ever seen and I'm hyped as if I were a british man.
(GTFO with Groves wasn't ready last time, it was the biggest fight of his life, he was up for it and in theory it only takes one man in boxing.)
Groves wins this without a doubt. Either by stoppage or decision. Froch is garbage, that ref saved him from further beatings. I can't wait to see that idiot laid out flat. I guarantee you that you will never see Froch in the ring with GGG, Kovalev, Stevenson, Ward again or even JCC Jr. He loses 100% to all of them. If Froch happens to win against Groves, Ill bet you he retires before he has to face anyone else. He knows he is not beating anyone else at 168 or 175.
Haters gonna hate. Froch would never duck a fight, even the likes of GGG and Kovalev. I remember a while ago he was thinking about fighting Stevenson when was still a SMW. Froch said he wanted to teach him a lesson for pimping women. What a legend.
I don't see how the ref saved from from a further beating. It was pretty clear that Groves was gassing & Froch was starting to take over. The ref saved Groves from a brutal KO.
Never write off Carl Froch. That's all i'm going to say.
I don't think Froch will get legitimately KOd.
If he's stopped, I think McCracken pulls him out.
This makes complete sense! If the fight was to indeed go this route because of Froch's reputation for taking big bombs the ref. may well give him the benefit of the doubt, Mccracken knows boxing and Carl better than any ref. and will not allow him to take ANY unanswered blows and I can clearly see where you are with this , enjoy.

im a fan of both these fellahs and it has been my true belief all along that carl froch is a banger and always had a rock solid chin but, the resistance has waned and his ever present lack of speed will no longer be protected by his chin as both now work against him.
its a retirement job unless he catches george early but even then, where does he go after that?
he will go for an early finish because his legs wont carry him past the 7th.
the saint knows that.

When Kessler fought froch the first time he said the way to beat carl was to push froch on the back foot and groves did exactly that
i have gone back and forth on this fight it's very difficult just because it is a true 50/50
I believe groves holds the technical advantages but froch has a better chin better conditioning and more likely more will, also froch is not entirely unskilled so the attributes he brings can count for a lot
I have always said froch is far too easy to hit and can be hurt, in his fights over the last 3 yrs he has been buzzed and a fight a few times which is unlike him.
i think the wear and tear is starting to become apparent, i think groves is the fresher more ambitious fighter and i think that counts for plenty.
Before the first fight i told everyone i knew that groves was very heavy handed and has under rated speed, i believe groves becomes more accurate and more powerful in this fight.
everyone talks about froch being mentally unprepared, groves had a lot of sh1t going on outside the ring, spliting up with adam booth, new trainer, lawsuits etc etc if anything groves should be better 2nd time around.
most importantly is what adam booth said, he said groves is always better the 2nd time he fights someone. i believe him.
prediction
groves stoppage under 6 rounds.
It's a hard fight to call but I'm going with Froch to win again. I don't think Groves will get a head start this time, as Froch will be ready for him and is too experienced and wily to be caught napping like that again.
