old wasted and injured tsyzu cannot top quartey and wright at championship form and level
Quartey wasn't in his prime, either. And the Wright fight was a questionable decision.
he was at his best, he never reallylost to nobody in that fight and vargas was a underdog and vargas did what de la hoya couldnt doto ike, destroy ike, he fought ike before oscar did and in the wright fight, it was close but wright was never able to beat this young champion even though he was experienced, wright woulda shoulda coulda done more, he didnt
Actually, Quartey fought Vargas more than a year after he fought DLH. And keep in mind that it was only his 3rd fight in about 3 years and at a higher division.
Wright did do enough to win, in a lot of people's opinion. Wright landed more punches than Vargas. He also threw more.
As of right now, I consider Jones to be the greater fighter.
He has the better wins, which includes beating Hopkins himself. In his prime, he was nearly unbeatable. He also won titles in more divisions.
Pacquiao didn't want anything to do with Mosley. The only reason they even fought Cotto is because he was ruined by Margarito's plaster. They still weren't brave enough, even with a ruined fighter, and required a catch-weight in order to sign the contract.
Fear is in Pacquiao's blood.
Best post in this thread, so far.
because the guy who beat him would fight at the catch weight, and mosley wouldn't. i dont think mayweather is fighting mosley at a catch weight is he?
You clearly haven't been following boxing for long. Mosley frequently said he would go down to a catch-weight. Even as far as 140-142. But "PAC-MAN" ran.
Why the tie-breaking mechanism was never announced?
I heard there is a tie-breaking mechanism.
Even if Dirrell gets eliminated, though, he still earned himself a name, because he gave Abraham a boxing lesson.
thats ridiculous
If he fought Mosley and beat him people wud just say that he ducked Cotto who freakin beat Mosley
You just cant win
Cotto was coming off a questionable decision over Clottey and Mosley was coming off a dominating knockout over Margarito.
It's clear who was the better fighter, at the time.
Shane is not a threat to the skilled guys in the division. Come fight night Shane will look very old. People base Shanes ability on the Margo fight and they're getting tricked he doesnt stand a chance.
Mosley won't do good against Mayweather, because Mayweather is too much of a good pure boxer. He would've stood a much better chance against Pacquiao, because they're both brawlers.
spin it any way you want. if he had beat mosley, you'd have made a thread already 'dont forget: pacquiao ducked cotto' :lol1:
You have an avatar of Pacquiao. How am I supposed to take your opinion, on this matter, seriously?
If Pacquiao fought Mosley instead of Cotto, he would have earned more of my respect.
so i have an avatar of a boxer in a boxing forum.. as to yours?
he might earn your respect but would all be in hindsight now wont it? and then about 90% of posters here would say he chose grandpa mosley and ducked cotto.
see how you fail?
How exactly do I fail? Are you telling me that Pacquiao didn't avoid Mosley (#1), in order to fight Cotto (#3)?
McClellan should be ranked above Lacy. He knocked out arguably the hardest P4P puncher of all-time in Julian Jackson twice and another great knockout puncher in Mugabi. All in a total of 7 rounds.
