Here’s a little John Ruiz story for you guys…. John Ruiz was born in Methuen, Massachusetts and grew up in suburb of Boston called Chelsea (he now lives in Las Vegas). When he was amateur and early on in his professional career he lived there and become somewhat of a local hometown hero… So, about 8-9 years ago, I was in my early 20’s, still in college, and was dating this girl who happened to live in Chelsea. I had spent the night over her house; so I left her house and walked over to the bus stop on Washington Street. As I’m waiting for the bus, I see this news van with a camera set up on a platform followed by the one and only John “The Quiet Man” Ruiz running behind! It so happened that he was preparing for his upcoming fight with Evander Holyfield and doing his morning roadwork and the local news station was obviously doing a quick sports story on him... It was memorable to say the least and maybe I'll run into him again sometime!... Cool story, i take it you are rooting for Ruiz saturday?

I have never seen this Olusegun, or whatever fight before, i have heard of him, any good? only seen clips of him, and he looked very impressive (although i've no idea who the hell he was fighting so dunno how much to read into that). fast hands, good power. African, so probably tough as nails (stereotypical i know, but there arent many african boxers who cant take a punch) Was gonna put a bet on him, and then i saw the odds. He's a heavy favourite.

He took the Valuev fight knowing that he would have to fight Ruiz (shot), Valuev (again) and then Chagaev (who just got a whooping from Wladimir), before facing either one of the Klitschko's. Yet, he calls himself the savior of the heavyweight division. He literally did nothing, as a heavyweight, to grant him a title shot against the Klitschko's. Fair do's but can't you see the reasoning as to why he took the Valuev fight? He took it to win a belt and then when he does step up against the Klits there will be no more, shit 3 fight contracts or payment only by British TV revenue. Once he gets rid of his Manda hopefully Valuev won't activate his rematch clause, and the Klit fights can happen but Haye will have more bargaining power, hell if the Klits offered me those contracts i'd walk too, and so would you.
