I take Abril, he’s not as fun to watch as Broner but its probably because he’s fighting the real competition in the division. If he fights smart and uses that jab of his, I can’ t see him losing
I've been watching his fights and I feel as if Toney had some health issue. I mean if he really does just spar and go to the gym.. he just can't lose weight? Does he have an eating problem?
He gained lotta weight you can tell on his face from just the Jones to Griffin fight, I know he fought at 175, but he just looks chubby and awkward. Pre-fight interview Toney states "I'm goin back to my old ways." Real arrogant. ha
I believe he had a thyroid problem
HOFer? yes. ATG? no not to me. Does he have ATG skills? yes of course. He would be a match up against any ATG middleweight to cruiser
He has done just as much in boxing then Bernard has. Who on Hopkins resume is a better win then MCcallum, Nunn, Jirov? Most of James big wins he was the underdog.
Please tell me what Bernard has done that puts him so ahead of James?
How is this is a question? This site shows me you guys really just follow hype and don’t know boxing. James Toney’s resume is on par with Roy Jones and B-Hop. Mccallum twice, Nunn, Holyfield, Jirov, Barkley, 3 division champ and a 4 division champ at one point in his life.
Also might have p4p the best chin of all time, I don’t know many other fighters that went from middle to heavy without being stopped.
He was robbed in the Griffin fights twice
Never ducked anyone
Who has bernard Hopkins beat that makes his resume better then Toneys? Bernard has the longevity achievement but thats about it.
If you don’t believe he’s all time great then I think you guys need to go back and watch the guy
Fought McCallum three times.
And I strongly agree with the second statement. :boxing:
I know they fought 3 times but he won twice, U was just showing his wins, JT is really underrated with these casuals
i think its a joke if that fight gets made any time soon.
if khan can get some decent wins under his belt first then fair play, but the thing is, khan is an accident waiting to happen every time he gets in the ring!
but then again, it goes to show that the options mayweather has to choose from are running thin. he has to move up a weight if he wants better names on his resume other than fighting pacman.
While his options are running thin, there are at least 10 other fighters currently that deserve a fight with Floyd over Amir, if this fight gets made its pushing Baldomir territory of cherry picking
Yeah, it's funny to see people talking about splits. Unless there is a dramatic improvement in his defense v Guerrero, Mayweather isn't taking this fight and maybe not even then.
Yup i find his legacy to be a bit tarnished, I don’t know anyone now he can fight that is actually a big and worth seeing, besides Martinez but that fight won’t get made. A Pac win, no matter what anyone thinks would have at least given him a prime all time great on his last, and now he lost that.
Yesterday I basically saw a much more entertaining version of Hopkins Calzaghe, I scored the fight for the guy who landed the much clean solid shots and that was Canelo, Trout is a terrible fighter, I saw it in the Cotto fight and I saw it again last night. Trout does nothing but throw a non meaningful jab for about 2 or 3 rounds and an occasional right, he has no snap on his punches, and for a boxer is a terrible counter puncher, did he even attempt 1 counter last night?
Canelo is still hype in my book, and if he fights a fighter actually capable of throwing sharp punches he will be stopped.
I hope to never see Trout on the big stage again because not only is he boring, he pretty much has no skill at all.
If Canelo fights Mayweather, Lara, hell even Angulo I think he loses.
With Mayweather its what you bring to the table, first things first, he needs to know he can beat you for sure, for a fight to be made, 2nd, Canelo bring a name and huge fan base, and lots of money, Mayweather can care less about what you have done in the sport to fight him, otherwise, Pac, Margarito, Williams, and Martinez all would have fought him by now
Not at all, I thought they were great. HBO commentary is filled with each of the fighters history and the drama that surrounds it whether it be in the ring or out, they talk about whats happening in the fight here and there and spend the rest of the fight talking about things which don't really matter since both of them are in the ring and people want to hear what is going on NOW.
I felt they honestly called what was happening in the fight, Paulie rightfully criticized the judging for that one judges card. I remember at one point they were talking about something else and a quick left landed and the fight continued, if that was HBO they would continue their story and not really mention it but Paulie mentioned what happened and cut off his story.
They called what was happening and saw it as a close fight which it was. Rounds could have gone to either many times.
Thats fine and all if you prefer how Showtime commentates but my issue i said was how bias Showtime was last night, they were horrible, I thought last week HBO did a much better job, and people on here were posting that HBO was riding Nonito the whole fight, what fight were they watching?
Ortiz doesn’t have the best chin but you guys are making it seem like he can’t take punches at all, he walked through a lot of Lopez’ punches from what I remember, and Maindana didn’t KO him, he made him quit, theres a difference.
Anyway I like Thurman but he gets stopped by Ortiz
That's not you, bro. That's something you found via google image search.
If it's really you post up a pic of you holding a timestamped piece of paper with your SN on it.
That or you take the ban - Your choice.
That is me, I don’t want to get banned from here so I’m posting some pg 13 nakedness of myself.
Pic has been posted on first page. Just wanted to bring some excitement to the forum. We should have more risky predictions before big fights, it raises the stakes.
Well enjoy fellas. I’m not the set looking guy in the world so don’t go too hard on me.
OK but Angulo is not as Fast as Trout and Canelo was able to make Trout Miss him, if he fights like that against Angulo, it will work even better against Angulo style
Bottom Line what I am suggesting is that Canelo plan should be to OUTBOX Angulo tonight which I am 100% Positive He CAN!
Did you see Lara vs Angulo? Lara has fast hands and feet than Canelo, and Angulo almost finished him. I can’t see Canelo pulling this win off unless Angulo becomes washed up over night.
5 million of my points for your 57,000?
I honestly think Angulo is a live dog in this fight, but not to the extent that you do.
You got a bet my friend.
You are full of it. Canelo is a 6 to 1 betting favorite because the pro odds makers know he is the better fighter. If you really believe Angulo can't lose why are you wasting time on here instead of placing a large bet on Angulo to win. If Angulo wins you make five dollars for every dollar you bet. Why the hell do you think Canelo is the #1 ranked 154 pounder while Angulo is unranked. Here is a hint for you. Canelo is a much better fighter with a much better record.
Are you stalking me? How do you know if I did or did not bet?
Horribly hype my friend. The best he’s ever looked against somebody with a pulse was Trout, and that fight was close.
If he wins tonight, I’ll give him the respect he deserves, but I call things like I see it, if Angulo looks any type of way, sluggish, washed up, tentative because the eye, then I will say it.
All Canelo have to do is fight like he did against Trout...and he gets a EASY UD or maybe even a late stoppage
I know the event is called Toe to Toe but to go Toe to Toe with Angulo would be STUPID unless you can get him to run out of gas like Kirkland was able to do and then go after him
I think Canelo out-boxes Angulo tonight which is the smartest thing to do
You kidding me? Canelo was getting hit like crazy, Trout just doesn’t have any power. Angulo is putting Canelo to sleep.
Anyone want to make bets with me pm me, i can use the points.
That was a good stoppage, but Angulo wasn’t the same fighter. Also I suspect Canelo weighed more than he was supposed to. Either way I’ll be a man of my word and take some good shots of physique. Or you guys can give me another chance, one more prediction to redeem myself.
Who are you? You are nobody. You'll just go back to your other ALT to troll. lol
I have been here longer than you idiot. I don’t think I have to explain what happened to my previous account.

No way, Dick pics now!!!!!!!!!!
Hahaha well, I’ll wait for a few more votes. One more chance fellas?
What? WTF did Canelo do in the Trout fight that suggests so?

Exactly, Canelo has horrible footwork, he won***8217;t have no choice but go Toe to Toe, and his power is extremely overrated. I can***8217;t see him him winning this fight. Angulo also looks hungrier then ever.
Canelo has stamina problems, subpar footwork, overrated power, how the hell is he going to keep Angulo off him?
Oh come on fellas, I was just having some fun here, get some laughs and bring some light to the non stop arguing on here. I have no where else to go to, my woman just left me, I lost my job, my kids hate me, this place is all I got.
Alright, I’ll put them up first thing in the morning. I’m a man of my word. I just want to do some push ups and sit-ups if I’m going to become this sites greatest meme.
You serious? Angulo has cried for no reason at all in both of the All Access episodes and he looked like a POW candidate at the weighin yesterday. Canelo is faster, throws better combinations, has better movement, and has a better defense than Angulo does. All Angulo has is power and pressure going for him.
I wouldn't be surprised if Canelo stopped Angulo late due to the accumulation of punishment.
There is so much wrong with this post I don’t even know why I’m going to respond to it. Angulo crying, and the way he looks has to do with fight how?
This is a classic case of boxer/puncher vs Pressure fighter, you telling me in the history of boxing only the more skilled guy wins? Canelo is okay at a few things, Angulo is really good in less things, but those factors will win him the fight. Heart, stamina, confidence, all this plays into a fight just as much as being fast.
Did you just start watching boxing?
