He's too big for Shane...
I don't see him doing anything that great again.
Actually, I would love to see Quartey climb back up and fight beat Vargas in a rematch.
He has my respect for sure, and I don't think he ever consciously ducked anyone.
He's the most solid player in the game right now, and easily top 3 pfp.
I am also looking forward to his comeback.
It seems the things he was lacking in his last fight against vargas were motivation and confidence... If he can get those back, he'll be a force again at welterweight.
I like his chances the second time around against vargas.
Gatti is probably my favorite fighter for alot of reasons.
That being said, I don't think he could beat Mayweather, Tszyu, or Sharba Mitchell. He is too basic. If he were to fight Cotto, it would be an awesome war, but Gatti would probably end up getting pounded on badly and lose.
Gatti should stick to guys at his level if he wants to win consistently.
Mayweather would probably not be able to stop him, but would win a convincing dec. Styles make matches, and Mayweather/Gatti doesn't sound like that great of a fight to me.
The 1st Robinson fight was actually very close, but the second one, Gatti lost pretty much every round. Robinson outboxed and outpunched him.
Right now, the best big-namers for him to fight would be Tszyu or Cotto.
Even though he'd lose both, they would be great fan-pleasers.
Well, I agree with most of you and i would rather see Sturm x Trinidad than watching Trinidad any fight a southpaw with winky's style.
I like sturm alot, but I don't see his style presenting Felix with any real problems other than maybe stealing a round or 2....
My prediction would be Tito by stoppage in under 10...
I don't agree with pinkpanther.
Benn did not have 'a bigger heart, and tougher chin' than Gatti. Although he may have had more power, that's more of an issue the weight difference in that comparison.
Salvador was awesome. It's hard to say how he would do against the guys mentioned, especially Arguello cause of the size difference.. that's more of a pfp question... IMO he was better than the guys listed above
Hopkins v Trinidad is not overly exciting till late in the fight, but it is an awesome display of boxing, patience, ring generalship and experience on Hopkin's part. You can learn alot about boxing by watching it, but it helps if you've seen alot of trinidad's other fights, so you can truly appreciate how good hopkins is for beating him the way he did.
Pryor v Arguello 1 is great. If you can get a good quality copy, I'd be surprised. It is a high paced war throughout much of the fight.
Chavez/Whittaker is a great example of contrasting styles.. It's probably one of sweet peas best performances.
I never saw the other fight you mentioned.
If he gets beat by Pacquiao, then he will no longer be a big draw because he also lost to MAB decisively. MAB will no longer give him part 4.
If Morales moves up in weight, then top fighters in that division may not want to fight him because they'll be degraded if they lose to Morales who has been exposed in the lower division.
Morales may end up just another expensive version of JMM.
Unless he gets KOed in the 1st or something crazy like that, he will never be "exposed."
He is a great fighter who has proven his skills big time.
It would take some serious falling off to not recieve respect in a different division.
(I personally would love to see him fight Corrales)

:(
Wow, I must have been sleeping or something... I Didn't know he officially retired... I just couldn't see him going out like that...
how the hell can some of you have cotto so high if he hasnt done much or beat anyone worth of mentioning...i mean if he has no trouble beating hist next opponent, corley (before 5rounds) then you can say he deserves to be top 5..until then he's to high on some of these list
I feel the same way to a large extent, but the guy has undeniable skills
THE MAIN THING IS, HE HASN'T FOUGHT ANYBODY WITH THE ATHLETICS AND SPEED OF fLOYD, OR WITH THE ACCURACY AND POWER OF tSZYU (sorry caps) Until he does, he will stay at 5 in my book...
There are way too many Cotto nuthuggers out there
People don't seem to remember or realize that mayweather is hot and cold.
His best performance by far IMO was against Corrales. And we all know that it was probably Corrales' worst performance in his career at the same time.
Before that fight and even since then, he has looked lackluster winning decisions against opponents who he should have beat in 2 or 3 rounds.
Pretty boy might have all the speed and talent in the world, and he'll probably beat Gatti by unanimous dec., but Gatti has more than a puncher's chance. He and McGirt can put together a gameplan that nobody will expect and Gatti can pull Mayweather into a close fight in the championship rounds. I'm serious. Gatti is more of a thinker now, and the punches that stopped guys in the lower weights for Floyd will not hurt Gatti.
Like I said, in all honesty, the deck is stacked against Arturo, but those of you who think he only has a 'puncher's chance' are being lulled into the PBF hero-worship syndrome. The man is not some sort of a god, neither was Roy Jones, but many of you thought he was, now you're all haters.
Mark my words, if Mayweather doesn't put it on Gatti hard and fast the whole fight just like he did against Corrales, Gatti can definitly pull out a win.
