Maybe we could have a stable organization like the NFL or NBA where everything is a tournament. We would probably see more good fight like that. But I could be wrong, way wrong. Without promoters, who would pay the fighters? Promoters are essential to the fight game. In my opinion, the only sure fire way to fix things is with a Boxing Commision that can oversee boxing. With health screenings, purse regulation, and fines for unscrupulous behavior, this would be a major weapon in the fight against promoters.

The problem today is that we have promoters mixed up with cable networks and managers. It's a huge mix. Imagine what would happen if Don King didn't exist (HW division would look completely diferrent today) or how many great fights we would have if HBO and Showtime weren't at each other's throat. Sorry, just dreaming.
