I watched in on international broadcast with nearly inaudible commentary but I thought it was really close. Lucas won 7 rounds but the best rounds belonged to Ruslan
Stylistically, which past fights are similar to Mayweather vs Pacquiao?
I'm trying to find a fight which involves a speedy, agressive, unorthodox southpaw vs a defensive, highly skilled, boxing master
No order:
Manny Pacquiao
Miguel Cotto
Roberto Duran
Muhammad Ali
Juan Manuel Marquez
Erik Morales
Marco Antonio Barrera
Bernard Hopkins
Marvin Hagler
Ricky Hatton
Julio Cesar Chavez
Mike Tyson
James Toney
Carl Froch
Nonito Donaire
Oscar De La Hoya
Word is Lamotta used to get laid during training and show up drunk to fights.
Doing it in the sauna was also one of Jake's method for making weight, so I've heard. What a Spartan
Not really a fan for any PR fighters except for Cotto but where did all this hate came from? PR has given us so many great fighters and fights over the years.
Plus Danny is definitely Puerto Rican, officially American, but still Rican blood
Barrera was not a brawler! He's a boxer just like JMM. IMO at their worst, Barrera could be more boring and passive.
JMM's career is the opposite of Barrera, he was defensive and technical in his early years, then he became more aggressive and would get involve in FOTY type fights. Whereas Barrera was just the opposite, he got more careful as he got older
I genuinely think Hatton still has it in him, he supposed to take on tune up but he didn't. Very sad.
I don't really have anyone else in mind but what about Barrera? I thought he did good against Khan despite the huge cut. Has he officially retired? He just sort of faded away, pretty rare way to go for a popular ATG
I love all styles but inside fighters/pressure fighters and defensive wizards/counterpunchers I like the most. Especially a mixture of the two like Toney
Well based on my character in the Fight Night games...
Strengths: accurate counter puncher, good defense, granite chin, solid body punching, excellent in-fighting
Weaknesses: slow on foot, has trouble dealing with tall fast fighters (Ex: Hearns) lousy stamina
He's 5'7'' with 67' reach. 154 lbs. Short and stocky.
And he has my name :boxing: Ring name is The Dragon
Just curious what real fighter do you think resemble my fighter ?:boxing:
Oh f*ck I'm getting so sick of stupid double standard callouts. If he did this then why couldn't he did that and he did this and that blablabla
I'm not going to give my opinion on Canelo or Mayweather but come on are you seriously saying that you haven't seen anyone critizing Mayweather for coming in overweight against JMM? ugh
Yesterday's El Perro was not far from the one who almost beat Lara. Both Canelo and Lara have similar attitude towards fighting and that is to counter, except Canelo is more of an "aggressive counterpuncher" who is not afraid to stand his ground. Canelo takes more advantages of even the smallest openings, which a slow pressure fighter like Perro is prone to give. If Lara did that last year he could've won much easier.
First I scored 9-3 for Pac, yesterday it was 7-5 for Pac.
Pac won but it was the kind of fight that I would've thought Bradley won if I didn't score it because Bradley's rounds were clearer. Still, it's pretty impressive that IMO the worst version of Pac ever managed to beat a young top 3 P4P.
