As a boxing fan what do you prefer and what gets you more amped up...fighter who seek and destroy or go down trying or guys who play it safe and seldom take chances? This is not about any one division or any particular fighter, just your personal preference.
They did not look fresh to me. They looked out of it and it was a snoozefest. Again that's my opinion sir. The fan man was the highlight of the night apart from some little moments here and there.
You're kidding, right? Evander was up on his toes and Bowe ripped of a 6 punch, 4, punch, 4 punch combinations consecutively.
I don't remember the full details of the Vitali/Lewis fight because I haven't seen it again in a while.
Dude, you've commented on this fight literally thousands of times. Lol, you're killing me bro!
Once I check it out I will tell you my opinion. What I do remember is that I think Vitali won in my opinion and was the fresher guy.
Cant win a fight you were stopped in and Vits was holding on exhausted in the final round while Lewis was also exhausted but throwing punches.
Plus is was more exciting than a lot of HW fights. You expect me to comment on just the final rounds. Gotta watch the full fight.
Im only expecting you to comment on the condition of the fighters in the final rounds because you brought it up by saying fighters of the 90's were exhausted by the 5th round. I do agree LL and Vits was an exciting fight though. Both guys showed great heart even though they were clearly dead on their feet by the halfway mark.
Anyways I'm going to go run for a bit. I'll comment later or tomorrow. Hopefully I get the chance to see the full fight again.
Have fun, we'll talk later. :fing02:
I did comment. They were tired by midfight. Both Holyfield and Bowe.
Lol, lets put this nonsense to bed right now. In round 7 they were throwing plenty of punches and looked fresh until the "fan man" incident. After that they needed to warm back up and build momentum again. Anyone who has fought will tell you a break in the action like that takes away from the momentum you've built up.. What are your comments on why Vitaly and Lewis were so exhausted? You haven't made a peep about that and the COMPARISON of the final rounds of those two fights.
give me at least one of these rounds in every fight and I'll be happy...

Give me these two for heavyweight fights and Im not even gonna touch Ali-Frazier!
LOL I already told you I hate clinching in general. No matter what boxer. Even some of my all time favorite boxers did it and it pissed me off...DLH, Chavez, Foreman, Klits, etc.
I told you things were boring most of the time and it was true to ME. Apart form the first fight the other two had some moments but nothing like the first.
My man, you're going in all different directions. Why not just comment on the vids I posted and your claims fighters back then were exhausted by the 5th? I'll let you off the hook for the Hearns/Norris comments, but stay on track!
give me Gatti-Ward over PBF-Baldomir any day
although Floyd might have been technically brilliant, it doesn't give me that 'damn i love this sport' feeling as i do after watching Gatti-Ward

Please my friend, not in my thread. I'd rather prove my/our points through logic and facts.
To the person who said Lewis and Vitali are clinching so much in their 6th round. That's not really being fair to Lewis or Vitali
1- Lewis was old as **** and semi retired. He was clearly out of shape and had horrible conditioning.
Agreed on 1.
2- They are both 2 super heavyweights, they have to clinch a lot more compare to a former CW like Holyfield fighting Bowe.
Disagree. They don't have to, they choose to, don't know how to fight on the inside or are out of shape.
and
3- Vitali was dying in there. Not the 'Oh I'm tired,' dying. But 'Oh ****, if the fight go on, I might have my life ended in the ring' dying. The two upper cuts Lennox landed had Vitali clinging on Lewis like a mega slut cling to free dicks.
So not a good example because different circumstances. I don't see 2 gaping vaginas on Riddick Bowe's face, so of course he could throw a lot more punches. He wasn't going blind.
He wasn't dying and wanted to continue. Come on now, thats just a silly excuse. And Im not even saying I found the second Bowe-Holy fight more exciting overall, just proving a point that they were throwing more punches in the 12th round than Lennox and Vitaly were in the 6th, whits Vits and Lennox looked to clinch more. I don't even see how that can be argued as I've provided the evidence.

Its like a hollywood summer blockbuster and an art house movie simultaneously.
One is for the audience who just don't want to study and appreciate the artform, the other one (Gatti Ward ) is for those who just want entertainment.
I'd like a balance of both
I prefer to see guys play to win to the best of their ability, as long as a guy is playing to win I don't really care.
This is a better way of expressing what I'm trying to convey.
Playing it safe, just for the boxers sake.
It annoys me when people get tagged when they get over-confident. I remember watching Mayweather vs Baldy and feeling quite annoyed when Merchant questioned Floyd about not finishing him off.
His job is a boxer, he won all the rounds, he did the job. It's his career and a loss could derail it, what is the point in being stupid to please people watching?
Seek and destroy is more fun to watch though.
You haven't countered anything. It's your opinion against mine. You told me about Bowe/Holyfield, I watched them and 2 of them weren't all that. Simple.
I bet most of the people on here go watch a highlight movie after hearing about a name without completely watching the fights. I'm not one of those.
No, its the opinions of 90% who have voted in this poll against yours. And I have most certainly countered...see the final rounds of the two video's I've posted as proof. And EVERYTHING I comment on I've seen and or read about. I will back up any claim I make or admit Im wrong. You my friend refuse to back up your claims. Tsk, tsk, tsk. :nono:
I love both.
I love watching a blood and guts war but I also love watching a fighter be selective with his punches and completely dominate his opponent by using his craft and brains instead of brawn.
Terry Norris would run a lot of times. He wasn't always exciting. So did Hearns but Hearns was much more exciting than Norris.
If there are so many examples you should have no problem showing them.
Saw the 3rd fight Holyfield/Bowe.......ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ again dudes were tired as fuck again around the 5th round. One good exchange and the punches after the bell was all that was worth watching before the knockdowns in this clinchfest. 2/3 put together were NOTHING compared to the first one.
No offense, but I don't think you know hat you're talking about. Here is the second Bowe-Holyfield fight, 12th round, and the Lewis-Klitschko fight 6th round. It clear Bowe-Holyfield are throwing more punches in their final round (a whole half a fight more) and Lewis and Klit are doing much more clinching (a whole half fight less) in their final round. The proof is in the pudding, bro.
Cue the video's up to 27 second for Bowe-Holy and 13 seconds for Lewis-Klit and watch them at the same time with the sound off and than tell me Im wrong.....ANYONE.
My memories outside of Tyson in the HW division were clinchfests most of the time in the 90s and other eras.
Like I said, feel free to post video's and I will counter them easily. Im not trying to be nasty, I just know what Im talking about. :dunno:

You pitting one fight against an entire boring career. LOL.
What gets people irked about Wlad is he's fighting either some fat out of shape bum who has no business fighting or someone 20 or 30 lbs smaller than him. He should be going in and blowing these guys away instead of being a jab, jab, jab robot.
And if Tyson was the only exciting heavyweight you've seen in the 90's then you weren't much of a boxing fan now were you?
You can greatly appreciate the technique/science behind the sport and still see Mayweather-Baldomir for the disgusting snoozefest that it was.
And the only truly dull Terry Norris fight that I recall was against Paul Vaden, and that's because Vaden made no attempt at winning the fight and only came to survive.
Depends. Because guys like Maidana and DeLeon can be boring as hell when they're putting a beatdown on the air.
But there's nothing better than a guy with actual skill going for a KOl.
