Would you rather be the biggest icon of your country or the highest paid athlete in the world?
Icon: a person or thing regarded as a representative symbol or as worthy of respect.
Money: a current medium of exchange in the form of coins and banknotes; coins and banknotes collectively.
I don't get to keep the money when I die.
I can keep my name immortalized for a long time though.
Never cared about the greed or selfishness. Being the biggest icon in America usually means you're well taken care of anyway and you'd have cultural power at a Muhammad Ali level.
I rather be a poor Ali than a rich nobody, even though I don't think it's possible to be the biggest icon and poor at the same time. Not in this country anyway.
never were more true words spoken

Why u beating around the bush? Just simply ask would u rather be pacquiao or mayweather? Lmfao
Ha no kidding. But I'd rather be the richest in the USa than have a bunch of fans in the Phillipines to be honest

Lol this
This is a new way of mayweather/pacquiao threads,
And did they get you to trade
Your heros for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?
Considering 95% of big time boxers go broke.
I would rather be Chavez than Holyfield.
Of course If we're talking about baby Jake Matlala or Holyfield.
Holyfield all day.
Being beloved or having lots of money dont go with you when you die or get you into heaven. At least if you are rich, while you are here you can do things, see things, eat what you want...Look at all the poor icons in history Ghandi, Mother Teresa, MLK was not wealthy, etc... sure their name lives on but they dont hear it either way....show me the money!!!!
well, the names you mentioned don't go for money/wealth...
and their names will still ring true long after the coins stop swirling...
yes, they won't hear the praises.....
but they did what they did out of their principles and conviction.....
not to hear praises
External validation should be one of the least important things in a man's identity
One of the best quotes I've ever read on this site. Might have to sig that.
Icon, you don't keep money when you die but your name lives on.

I'd rather be hated and rich, than beloved and poor. Being an icon doesnt pay the bills. Also, how many icons have been murdered or emotionally destroyed by the same ones who made them an icon....screw that " Show me the money!"
Exactly this I'd rather be rich as **** lol
I'd rather be the wealthiest athlete in the United States than the beloved king of Namibia. I'd imagine most modern royalty would trade their titles instantaneously to cash checks like Pac and Floyd do :lol1:
Why not doing it both? You can be rich, respected by anyone and be remembered by history. So funny why some people want to be rich and disgusted by everyone.
