So I've been watching Floyd's latest interviews and the guy seems very humble. He isn't the bad guy he was a few years ago. Maybe the guy has changed? I mean I haven't heard the guy trash talk at all since the Maidana fight. He seems very humble and doesn't seem conceited any more.
Tim Bradley did more trash talking than Floyd has done.
Do you think Floyd has changed?
Weird digital voice in that vid! Mayweather has been ducking Pacquiao for years. Now why would he do that? Because he knew....Pacquiao could beat him. Why is he all humble and quiet now? Because he knows....Pacquiao will beat him!
To everyone saying that he only started trash talking to sell fights but stopped trash talking when because fights sell themselves...
The DLH fight sold itself and broke all PPV records at the time and boy did he do a lot of trash talking, even called DLH a chicken and gave him a chicken wearing a copper penny to mock DLH's Gold Medal win in the Olympics. Then he entered the ring wearing a sombrero as a shot to DLH's race.
After the Baldomir fight Floyd was saying "Larry Merchant is just a commentator he don't know nothing about boxing"
He was saying Gatti was a C class fighter.
The guy was always running his mouth even before the DLH fight. Hell he was running his mouth during and after the DLH fight.
That's funny that he called Gatti a "C class fughter" because he begged to fight his ass, and publicly requested the fight more than once. So why was he so adamant about fighting a "c class fighter."? :owned:

people are dumb as **** that persona is only used by floyd to sell fights this time he longer needs to act fly and flashy because this fight already sold to the ceiling level :bottle: :boxing:
then why didn't he trash talk Maidana? that fight didn't sell itself
There is no such thing as a humble or nice Mayweather. I haven't noticed him being any nicer or more humble than he ever was. He is not the least bit nice or humble. He never has been and he never will be. He is a great fighter but nice and humble he ain't.
Na, they'll say Pacquiao was old, past prime, gun shy, and Floyd ran. They'll never call their hero a bum. First they will refuse to log in to Boxingscene the first week or two after Floyd beats Pacquiao. Then Roach and Arum will come out and talk about how Pacquiao was past it and thinking about retirement and Floyd caught him at the right time. Then the Pac fans will come out like little c*ckroaches and repeat what Roach/Arum say and run along with that until Floyd retires after September 2015. Then we will get fantasy threads about who wins in their prime, Pacquiao winning by TKO on the polls.
:::slow clap:::

He's just taking the fight seriously, and most of that trash talk is for promoting purposes, this fight will sell itself so it isn't neccesary.
If you watched boxing before 2007, you'd know the Money Mayweather persona is just an act. He's just going back to his normal self now that he's made his money as a villian.
Don't bring truth in here. HE IS SHOOK!! ZOMG!!!
When was the last time he trash talked anyone? Mosley?
He's trash talked Manny hard over the years.
"Still asleep"
"Marquez's leftovers"
"Beggin dog"
"He's desperate and broke"
"Pac pellets"
"Take the test" T-shirts
"Poochioau"
"Not on my level"
He only shut up when they were in person cause he knows Manny wants to f him up.
Floyd knows he's gonna take a beating, and he doesn't know if his hands can hold up enough to stop Manny.
I think Floyd is just very focused right now, this isn't Guerrero or Vic Ortiz, this is freakin' Manny Pacquiao! A lot at stake here and I think Floyd is playing this one close to the chest.
manny looked away first in the stareoff #fact
MANNY SHOOK
Meh, he always looked away first in every stare off. It's pointless for him and doesn't prove anything. I remember him looking away first from the Hatton and Cotto stare off too.
Too bad Manny's not a trash talker. If they both got into some serious trash talking, this fight would generate even more views and raise the money stakes even higher.
Floyd is content on letting Freddie do all the trash talking.
Makes it easy for him to focus his energy on training.
Hard for Manny to talk trash when he can barely speak english
Floyd has always been like this. As much as I know some people hate Floyd, I don't think he's the bad guy people make him out to be. He hasn't really talked a ton of trash about a fighter in a while and if you watch his post-fight interviews he's usually a lot more humble and reserved than how brash he is leading up to the fight. This makes me think he does actually do that to sell tickets. Could he really be an an idiot in his personal life, probably, but he isn't any different than many of the other boxers active and from the past in terms of his personal life. I also think calling himself TBE doesn't make him arrogant. He's just confident in his ability. He always gives props to the guys before him, but always says he's fighting in his era. Nothing wrong with a fighter believing he's the best. And when you look at his skillset and how long he's been at the top/relevant, it's kind of understandable how he can think that.
It's just cool to hate on Mayweather. Any article about him gets instant hate. Which is great for the boxing websites. They probably make a ton off any article from Floyd. Even when he's genuinely being nice, people will have something negative to say about him. It's kind of sad now, but I think in the years to come history will be kind to Floyd. He's done a lot for the sport of boxing whether you like him or not.
I think his change has been most pronounced since the interview with Rachel Nicholls.
He did himself no favors in that interview and since then he has tried very hard to be as non polarizing and non confrontational as possible so no questions about DV come up.
I haven't seen that interview. But I think from a marketing perspective, it would not be a good idea to be, act, or appear confrontational with someone who is or appears to be non-confrontational.
Floyd would likely generate more hate than approval if he were to get in Manny's face and Manny 's team having to come to his rescue due to his reluctance to launch verbal assaults of his own in return.
I think Floyd chose to be less talkative now that fight is in the bag.

he's trying to look good for his legacy
it's pr
This is what I think too.
It is quite striking how different his approach has been lately, and people can have their own opinions obviously but I agree with this here. This is the biggest fight of his life and career, tons of pressure from tons of people...acting like his Pretty Boy/Money persona would make him look stupid. That act has already gotten old anyway, it would make him look stupid now. For him to look great this approach to this fight is what is necessary I believe.
Not because he is scared of Manny or not confident in winning for once, because once the bell goes/after the first shots land, and the nerves disappear, he can more than handle himself in the ring and we all know that.
Not because he is worried about backfire either like the saying 'keep your words sweet in case you end up eating them', maybe to a degree, but what it is all about in my opinion is an attempt to look like the great fighter he claims to be as the world watches.
Drop the old act, stop throwing money at cameras and bragging about cars etc...stop all that, act humble, beat your arch nemesis and then say with class "I told you". That is what I feel Floyd is trying to do.
Not saying he is in no way concerned about this fight or will 100% win it...just saying I think this is most likely what this recent change in attitude is about for the build up, the fight itself is a different matter of discussion.
