As a fighter--I was a big Roy Jones fan. But he was super bias last night, I agree. He offers some great insight, but more often than not--he's off. I mean watch the PAC/Marquez fight; each time Marquez drops him Roy says something bias towards Pacquiao right before. His bias, and lack of perspective really bummed me out last night. He's better than that.
I think Bradley is a tough dude, and i dig Joel Diaz. I do feel that Tim's luck is going to run out if he fights Some of these top tier welterweights. Fun fight. But man Roy had it wrong
I picked Alvarado to win this fight, and I knew memo couldn't help Rios. If rios would have stopped Alvarado again we would of heard all about memo, and it would go back marquez dismantling manny. But Rios loses via craft (just like marquez beat manny via craft) and nothing. Nobody says a peep about memo not helping matters. So typical yet also disappointing
Again, I'm a PAC fan...but the only thing that truly makes me dislike him is his fans. manny was a gracious loser, and has been a great champion. The fact PAC fans can't let go if the fact that he knocked out is "irrational" (like Lampley said). The bodacious nerve to say that one fighter has "solved" another when his last fight ended with him being awoken by smelling salts is beyond "irrational"-it speaks of some sort of mental illness.
PAC fans, do manny a favor and just the **** up.
I actually don't think Martinez beats Money. And Manny's ship has sailed. I think some of the 154 pounders would give him trouble. Trout I'm not sold on yet, but he may give Money problems. Canelo hasn't beaten anyone, but his power, youth and strength (and intangibles) gives him the best shot. Guerrero gets out boxed, his power isn't as explosive and shocking enough to neutralize moneys ability to engage and set traps. I don't see money fearing him, plus-like him or not-money is tough. He doesn't fold after taking a big shot. Watch Mosley, or Judah fights--he goes for it. I think someone with explosive power or brushing combos can stop him. It'll take a balance of technique and power. Canelo may have it (with accrued experience).
Power and technique is everything. I never thought I'd see manny laid out like that a couple weeks ago. But Jmm had power and technique. I can't wait to see someone stop Money. It would be great for boxing.

"Pacquiao has been been so mesmerizing, that some of his fans have become irrational"-Jim Lampley
Bad idea. I mean if that was the case we would be having manny fans saying he won the fight. Haha.
But seriously, I don't think the fans can do any better. I mean this forum living proof that "fans" are unable to be objective. It's bizarre stuff. I mean I saw posting a couple days ago titled something like "how would you beat your favorite fighter" or something. Nah, most "fans" are fans of particular athletes, not the sport. I mean look these fanatical manny and money fans.

I was raised in a family of Martial Artists. One of my first memories is boxing my dad and hitting the mitts. My uncle was a pro and was always training fighters, so we (my cousins and I) would always be training, messing around with pros right beside us. I never did anything formal. It's always been something I learned and practiced for fun. I wish I would have taken it more seriously as a kid-and seen how good I am.
For the most part my family members and I have beat the crap out of one another all our lives-in a seasoned, tactical, and sporting manner.
This is another one of these polarizing threads that just gives Floyd worshippers and PAC fanatics a forum to pot shot one another. I personally think it's an untimely thread considering one of these fighters just lost two times in a row. But stating that-Floyd was an Olympic kid, pampered, and primed for the big time. It was calculative process (Floyd's career). That's not a slight, it's business. Manny didnt have that luxury, he had to fight his way up. But because of that fact-one could also say that he had to take fights with Barrera, morales, etc.
So it's a bit of an unfair question because there careers are very different. As champs I'd say manny fought more, so he took more risks. But now, dude just ko'd-so it's all for not.
If Floyd fights Guerrero (who I'm not a fan of) or Canelo this year-I'd say he risked more.
It's weird when people say jmm "would be stopped" or "will be stopped"...he's never been ko'd. Not saying it's impossible, but you guys who say that... Based on what? The dude always gets up, and always sets a trap.
Reason why Pacquiao was ahead on the scorecards is because Marquez had to fight Pacquiaos fight, he had to stand more and trade punches instead of his usual moving and counter punching style. Marquez can outbox Pac every time but he will never get the decision so he was forced to fight Pac's fight. You also gotta remember that Marquez is 39 and he is fighting at a weight where Pac had every advantage.
::appaluding::
It's not that pacquiao looked so good, it's that in Marquez's quest for the one shot-he was going to look bad. But that was the name of the game. Nazim Richardson said the same thing
How did you hear the commentator say something with the "sound off". And too bad boxing isn't based on "almost" and "winning". This is the saddest topic and exhibition of boxingnonothingness
I hope Alvarado stops Rios--not because I dislike Rios, but because it would be good for boxing. Also, I do like Alvarado, and I think if he boxes a little more he can beat Rios.
Good for Marquez. It was decisive. Also, Pacquiao made Marquez wait in 4 year increments to fight jmm again. All of those fights were debateable.
But only in a PAC fan world is a 6 rd ko is a close fight, an "almost win" and grounds for a rematch. It's staggering how delusional they are. I'm a PAC fan, but his fans are the worst.
I think jmm sticking it to arum, and not being pimped out is great for boxing. You PAC fans should think of that, consider that.
This fight will take place in the U.S. Arum is a big republican and he's trying to make waves by referencing the tax stuff, and all that. I personally hope this fight doesn't happen. I'm a marquez fan and a manny fan. I think they've done all the good do. Everything else is just kind of cheapening.
Marquez should wrap it up, and manny should stop Bradley.
Are we really giving marquez grief for not wanting to fight Floyd? Styles make fights; may sat back (heavier) and took pot shots. It was a blow out. marquez acknowledges it wasn't his fight. He even said he thinks money would beat PAC because of his style. Let's not say Marquez is ducking-he gets to choose who he fights now. All he is doing-is what money and PAC have been doing for the past 6 years. Give me a break. The dude fought anyone who would let him for the first part of his career. Prince Ahmed ducked him forever, he's been beating at the door forever. I think he's earned his right (at 40) to be selective.
Half of the dorks on this site are so gay for their favorite fighters that they can't see the big picture. It's not pretty-but it's a business. Btw May vs Alexander? Come on. "Pacquiao was winning..." Until he did a face plant. Please people-be objective, get off your boyfriends nuts. It's a sport and a business. These old lions want to go out on top. It's not always the best for boxing, but calling it cowardice is staggering. Get in the ring or get in the business-if you're such an expert. Dorks.
