But the problem is both guys have taken some serious punishment and if JMM retires, some of the Pac fans will claim JMM was afraid to lose a rematch which is not true. JMM cannot go on forever and yes Pac has taken a toll on him as well as other wars he has been in and may not want to go through hell again. That is his choice. Sounds like he wants 2 more fights and is battling his wife over it. It is tough to chose between all of a sudden turning the Boxing world upside down and commanding HUGE money or retiring on top and sparing more wear and tear. Either way, JMM has got to be a top 5 PFP ATG Mexican fighter. They dont come along that often. He is up there with JCC, Sanchez, Zarate.

If the Boxing public wants a rematch, let them fuking rematch. No matter who the fans think will win doesn't take away the drama. As long as both fighters can be competative and yes, Pac was competative in all the fights, let them have a final fight. If it brings attention to boxing, good for Boxing. Lucky punches, perfect punches, walking in to punches, PEDS, drinking piss, lack of focus, whatever the arguments....the fight still sells. I think Pac earned that KO punch by walking in without regards to defence which was disrespectful to JMM and he got paid for the bull rush big time. Science beat aggression.

WTF? This is the worst case of denial I have ever seen on this message board. You are actually trying to convince us that Pacquaio would have won the fight if he had not gotten KTFO before he had a chance to completely solve JMM? There was nothing lucky about that punch. Marquez had landed it numerous times in the fight, including on the first knockdown and would have continued to land it until throughout the fight if Pac hadn't been knocked silly. Pac was getting his shots in, but the result would have been inevitable whether it occurred in the 5th or the 10th round. Just to add my 2 cents: The first knock down was NOT the same as the KO. Different scenario. Secondly, how can you tell someone that he is completely wrong in saying that Manny was headed for victory yet say it was inevitable that Marquez was going to KO Manny even if it didn't happen in that 6th round? Remember that except for the KO punch, Manny was able to avoid or move away from the punch just enough so that it didn't affect Manny. The difference with the 6th was a combination of things. First off, when Manny tries to punch Marquez he stumbled, missed his punch and that contributed in having Manny not able to move away nor react properly to what was coming back from Marquez. Plus the stumble contributed in Manny completely missing his punch thus Marquez was able to come back with a punch that was much harder. For this type of scenario to happen once is hard enough but to expect it to happen twice is nearly impossible. Again, like we all saw in round 5 for example, it was the exact same scenario except for the fact that Manny wasn't caught stumbling and reacted just enough so his body would take the punch well. Not even going to say that it couldn't happen later in the fight but to say that a KO was inevitable and Manny winning was not is just not an accurate statement. Manny had Marquez in trouble too but Marquez was just able to finish off Manny before Manny could have finished off Marquez. Anything could have happened but the momentum was moving in Manny's favor up until the KO.

I don't like Manny's chances. A tentative approach against JMM and he gets outboxed badly and now JMM knows he can take him out. It would be a good money fight but I think risky for his legacy. The best deal for Manny is for JMM to retire and this loss can be regarded as a fluke where he got caught, Manny still beats most other guys. IMO great post..........

Marquez doesn't want to get in there with him again its obvious Theres no other fight out there for Marquez in terms of Legacy and $$$$$ He would make more in Pac-JMM V than his entire career COMBINED If he doesn't want to fight thats fine but its cuz hes scared and he knows it What your trying to say is JMM a guy who had no trouble fighting manny 4 times b4 is scared to fight him again right?? Thats bull I mean come on. He gave rematches... he could have easily avoided and 20 years from now the average boxing fan wouldn't know the history behind these 2 and looked good on paper. i think so but the same thing was said in the 3rd and 4th fight. the 5th encounter, i think pacquiao would still be favored to win but by just a slight margin, not a land slide favorite

Not everyone, lots of people know Márquez wasn´t at his weight class and got cheated, Márquez made sure everyone in México knew that. Floyd beating Márquez gets even less credit than Canelo beating Josesito, just because of the cheating alone. And lets be honest, not a chance in the universe Floyd would ever get in the ring if Márquez was a genuine welter, aka a guy that cuts weight to make that weight.

Pacquiao never beat Márquez clearly, but Márquez definitely beat Pacquiao. That is what everybody will remember, despite the different opinions and record books. To the hardcore boxing fans true but I promise you at the end of the day it won't matter man. None of the fights have been super clear and many people can argue this for days and days. The thing that makes this fight different is it ended in a KO and it really don't get any clearer. If you look at every fight(prior to the 4th) and really do it with out bias you can make a case for both fighters... It comes down to opinions at the end of the day which is fine, Now whats very clear is JMM has made PAC look like **** and that's what really stands out!!! more so in the 3rd fight. Like I said I am a fan of both but my whole point is you can put these guys against each other a million times and its never gonna be super clear like a lot are trying to make it.
