i just watched the fight (thanks kid achilles) and this is wat i saw.
1.moore lands a clean jab, marciano seems unfased.
2.marciano lands a nice uppercut, that snaps back moores head.
3.moore throws and off balance left straight, marciano looses balance and falls.
4.marciano gets up at the two count, but the ref makes a mistake and counts two extra seconds (to four) even though there was no standing eight count.
5.marciano if fine, and it seems clear that the 2 seconds had nothing to do with his ability to fight, as he never looked truly hurt.
if he did not recieve those extra
2 seconds he would have been ko
it only takes a copule of second to clear your

Everyone just stop talking bad of Marciano and Tyson. Both are legends and great fighters. Maby not the greatest, but you have to agree they are both up there with Ali,Louis,Foreman and such.

Clearly you fools have never seen the fight. Just minutes ago I popped in my VHS version of the fight and watched the knockdown again, which occurs in the second round, and the events leading up to and after it. Here they are.
1. Marciano lunges in off balance and is countered by Moore with a decent shot.
2. Marciano gets right up at the count of two, more shaken up by the fall and shock of the knockdown than the punch itself, which isn't a very good right hand to begin with
4. The ref counts to four, realizes there is no mandatory eight count, and lets Marciano continue.
So Marciano, who is not very hurt to begin with, is given two extra seconds to recover at BEST and finishes the round, of which there is a good two minutes left.
These are the facts. I don't give a shit what you have to say in response because I just personally reviewed the footage of the fight, which speaks for itself.
Next time watch the goddamned fight for yourself instead of going on heresay and mythology. Archie Moore was known to spin some yarns in his time and this was one of them. This is nothing more than a myth, inflated by revisionists who attempt to tarnish Marciano's legacy with bullshit journalism built on a foundation of Archie Moore's word instead of the existing footage of the fight.

Roy kind of had a plan. After he beat Tarver he wanted to take on Tyson and retire. THEN he would've been up there with the greatest. But he gave Tarver a rematch and was winning till he was caught.
