If U.S. had no NFL, we would have great Heavyweight division. Look at all those superfreak athletes in NFL. My question is, who would make a great fighter/boxer in NFL?
Interesting question. Mex Kellerman noted recently there are plenty of great heavyweights today, but they are playing other sports and never got into boxing. Guys like Simeon Rice and Jason Taylor.
What you want is someone with size and speed. Handspeed is hard to judge by football though. I might say Roy Williams of Dallas could be a good heavyweight boxer had he been brought up in the sport. He's 6'1'' 235 lbs right now. As a boxer he'd have ended up a lean and muscular 220 lbs or so. His instincts and ball hawking skills for a man his size are unreal. Perhaps that's something that could translate to boxing.
Actually basketball players make better boxers, they have superior hand eye coordination and reflexes. Plus most are very tall and would have great reach.
Artest would have been a great heavyweight prospect
Yea I am. I get a lotta shit for it, but I've made my choice.
YEAAA!!!! Im a bills fan as well. 2nd favorite team is the giants. But i live in NY about a half an hour away from jets stadium, so everytime they play the bills i go to the games.
I got sooooo much shit wearing my eric moulds jersey (NOW I GOTTA GET ANOTHE BILLS JERSER!!!) near all these jets fans. lol. they have these chants break out in the stadium. Everyone is screaming and yelling at me. its hilarious
A lot of linebackers would, Im talking the big inside linebackers like Ray Lewis, Takeo Spikes, Derrick Brooks, Brian Urlacher, Joey Porter...These guys are around 6'3 230-250 of pure muscle, with more athleticism than any of the heavies right now, so they could have the potential.
Ray Lewis, Takeo Spikes.
YEA takeo spikes!!! U a bills fan???
What about Brian Urlacher?
And there was a nobody linebacker that JUST retired... I cant remember his name... but he was apparently a really good boxer but the didnt want to take on the sport professionally.
