He was widely regard as the best amateur of all time in Cuba, had he still been fighting in Cuba, he would quite possibly have 4 gold medals right now.
Enkhbatyn Badar-Uugan was quite weak, and Luke Campbell wouldn't have stood a chance against Rigo.
So many problems with that. Where do you even start?
This pussy has no intentions in fighting Gamboa :lol1:. Look at his demeanor, his facial expressions depict that of pure horror:
"I think I can drop him more than once" depicts horror??
I imagine you couldnt sleep through Vampiros en la Habana then.
Talk to me when the fight gets signed. We might not be talking. :lol1:
I'll invite you to read Gamboa's body language when he is working at the used tires place.
You can't be this dense? Read my post again. Garcia can suggest he's Rambo for all I care. His body language concerns me. Is that of a guy not interested and possibly coached into spewing wrong information to the media.
His side-kick next to him (weeporting) is blowing false information about Gamboa's last fight stating it was vs Farenes when in fact Yuri fought and beat Jimenez last.
Open your eyes, its clear they don't want to fight Gamboa.
Yeah , except it isnt clear.
His body language .....
GTFO man...
Funny I did not get that at all. He seemed relaxed and confident as f*ck to me. Especially when he was breaking down the fight.
It is what it is. You see what you want to see I guess.
Cool interview. He said nothing but the true.
"Un lio de negocios y no de talento" Sad reality..
I think Santa Cruz is tailor made for Rigo though. I don't see his style prevailing. Rigo will be in command the whole fight.
Too slick, too Cuban.
Lara is a very good and skilled fighter. I agree with a lot of people that say he gives anyone at 154 problems.
And I'd hate to call him overrated because he really isnt. But the way some people refer to him is crazy.
He aint no Rigo or Floyd. And he gets tagged and trapped way too much for me to call him TOO slick.
Seriously, I don't know what Angulo is doing hes not hitting canelo at all!
The fact that bombs are landing on his face has nothing to do with it...
You want him to pull a titanic and spin like wonder woman???
lol Chacha! Wouldn't have guessed a little lesson would get your panties in such a twist! Just trying to teach you a little something you don't learn in the caserios. No seas tan apestosa, carbronsita. :)
There you go!!
I knew you had it in you. Trying to act all proper and sh*t.
I said I wasn't gonna get into the whole eye thing. I gave Garcia his props and didn't make no excuses. It was simply a "sh*t happens" moment. If you wanna argue about the eye then find Weebler I. He will happily go on for days about it.
I'd pick Matthysse to win a rematch but there is no way of me knowing if that eye is healthy or not. So I'd be more hesitant. Too bad Garcia doesn't want it.

Funny how it looks like you just did.
A "sh*t happens moment"...
I guess the holy spirit came from behind and pushed Danny's fist into Lucas' face huh?
And there you go, sticking your nose in other people's business...mariposa.... :)
Yo pense que era un foro abierto y publico lol.
No te agites , solo empieza a ser real.
And mariposa? Really? Search for some words my dude. Do you live in a basement?
Hell f*ck NOOOOOO!!!
Whoever said yes better check himself.
In this era Tito would have accomplished the same feat. Just think about it. Tito would probably be considered the favorite against Martinez and nobody would be questioning if he was going to campaing at 160 if he did win.
Tito's resume is stacked. He wasnt just a draw. He was one of the best of his time.
How could Cotto do In Tito's time and against Tito's opponents??
How would Tito do today and gainst Cotto's opponents?
Margarito doesnt make it past the 7th against tito. Pac would have stayed at 140. Maywesther would have retired. And Trout wouldn't have made it past the 4th.
Umm kill Garcia? No. Did I pick Lucas by KO? Yes. Did I expect the eye to swell up like that? No. Then again who did?

Sh*t , I picked Juanma to beat Salido , but did I expect him to get punched in the face that hard? No.
What a fkn tool this guy is.
I'm rewatching the Nonito - Vazquez jr fight and nonito really struggled down the stretch, was a very tough on him in the last 3 rounds. He wasn't very impressive in this fight at all, esp against a basic fighter with no am experience.
Esp against a basic fighter with no am experience??????
How is that even relevant to anything?
Anyways , he should be good then. Because since am experience is all that counts and Rigo has only fought 11 times out of 500+ in the pros , meaning he has not been past the 3rd round a lot I'm guessing Donaire caught a break? The 2 things contradict each other. Am experience and stamina. Am fighters only fight 3 rounds.
Right , that's what you are trying to say?
**** what Rigo's haters have to say really, at the end of the day he will stay fighting, keep on winning and that's that. Rigo doesn't have to change his style or his personality so other people can like him, just keep on doing what your doing rigo and win or lose, you have done tremendous things for the sport of boxing.
Nobody hates Rigo. What's this crazy idea that people hate him.
It's all business. That's the most ****ed up part. That this is how it is.
Few fighters under 135 were ever a big seller. And at 135, I can only think of Oscar De La Hoya off the top of my head, who sold 200-350k PPV's against Ruelas and Hernandez, and Pacquiao vs Diaz. So Rigondeaux not being a big ticket seller/popular guy at 122, means absolutely nothing. Donaire is as popular as you can get for the small divisions, and you can find plenty of casuals who have never even heard of him.
You have very few exceptions like Pacquiao vs Morales trilogy , Pacquiao-Barrera II , Marquez vs Pacquiao II at 130
Marquez-Barrera at 130
Naseem Hamed was a huge ticket seller.
But that is where it stops.
Yes but what I'm referring to the most is his style. Not very fan friendly. You have "hardcore boxing fans" in here calling it a boring fight. And I witnessed a few Cubans falling asleep on the fight too. You won't see that with Mexican , Pinoy , Rican or American fighters.
I don't care how much the casual fan or the uneducated brawl lovers don't like Rigo winning, that performance was some of the best I've ever seen and I loved all 12 rounds of it. And I'm going to watch it like 5 more times this week, maybe more.
I agree but that's not the point. I recorded it and already watched it again and saw more impressive things the second time around.
But my concern is Rigo not being a big enough draw so we can get more of this type of fights.
In his previous fights he was fighting not so good opponents and they were calling those fight boring. And yesterday he had his whole arsenal on display , which consist of slick and master boxing and you have a lot of dissapointed fans.
Don't Matter!
Man came from NOTHING so if he can make $500k-1 Million a fight for the rest of his Pro Career I am sure Rigo would be more then happy with that
None of you are getting any of that money, why are fans so focused on Ticket Sales, PPV Buy and all that other stuff as if your getting a check from how well your favorite fighter sales
Rigondeaux will be fine!
You totally missed or chose to ignore the point. I couldn't care less about what a fighter makes. Just remember its a business and there are marketability issues. Just like everything.
I get it that the "purists" like to pat themselves on the back and think they are somehow more "evolved" than the rest of us. I wasn't completely bored by the fight, but to be honest it would take a meaningful opponent to get me even remotely interested in a Rigo fight. Yes, he is talented. Sick talent. But that in and of itself isnt compelling enough. After the 5th round, the only drama in the fight was wondering if Donaire was ever gonna land anything meaningful. Sorry, but that does not drive the average viewer, and make no mistake, the average viewer is what dictates what fights will sell. The promoters and networks know full well that the hardcore fan will watch regardless.
Why on earth would Mares fight him? Even taking the GB-TR thing out of the equation, its a tough fight, for no money, and Mares would be the one selling the tickets, so why do it?
Reality is reality. Sure, Rigo is 100 times more skilled than Rios or Alvarado. But that doesnt put butts in the seats, and never will.
You see what I'm seeing.
Its the sad reality. Calderon had the advantage of being able to fight in P.R. Rigo doesn't even have that opportunity.
My Reply wasn't really direct at you personally, that was directed at "Today's Boxing Fans" IN GENERAL who seems to focus more on how much fighters make outside of then ring and they choose to be fans based on that more so then their skills IN THE RING
I see , that's absurd.
The thing I'm taking into consideration are.
1st and most important his style. Toy have slick boxers and then you have guys like Rigo. I don't think he can be compared to Mayweather. Its two different things. Maywesther woes his opponent in while kind of standing his ground and pot shots and picks him apart. Rigo outboxes toy without much fireworks.
2nd Casual fans ,which we say we don't care but sometimes they are that factor needed to make huge fights. They will buy fights based on names. And its a sad reality but a reality nonetheless.
3rd . Small weight classes aren't that attractive to casual fans. Who are the biggest names down there?
4rd. Fan base , Cubans don't go all out for their fighters like other nationalities. And I'm talking about the ones in the state's. I know their situation. Still I feel like the ones in the state's don't really follow their fighters as other countries do.
I get what you're saying but I'm not hearing BHop, Ward, or Mayweather complaining about their earnings.
Those fighter you mentioned actually engage and mix it up. Not saying Rigo can't , he just doesn't do it. B-Hop doesn't just box people out of his socks. Neither does Mayhweather or Ward.
I believe there's a difference there. And there's the weight issue. The lower weight classes always have that problem.
