Calzaghe would easy work out Pavlic! Anybody with knowledge on both fighters styles can see this!" - Originally Posted by Mrpedigree

It means you always have great foot placement to have exceptional balance, good leverage on your punches, and the ability to step to either side all at the same time; Cal doesn't come close. Guys with good foot work hardly ever walk in to punches or get cuaght squared up(with there feet next to each other). That's why it's so hard knock B-Hop down. The only guy that comes close to his footwork at light heavy would probably be Dawson.
As far as Pavlik, some of you make him sound like he would go out like Manfredo and get smothered by Cal's pitty pats. Pav v.s. Cal comes down to Pavlik's power. If he can hurt Cal he wins if not Cal will get a decision. Probably a little closer then the Kessler fight since Pavlik is more active than Kessler. B-hop, Miranda, and JT couldn't KO Pavlik so neither is Cal if you argue that then you probably agree with Cal's dad and say he'll beat Vladimir, lol. Bottom line is Cal has gotten hit flush by decent fighters so can he take Pav's power or will he out like JT. And don't compare Pav to Lacy. He is a midget Compared to Pac and doesn't have the reach.

How do the Mexican and Italian judges score exactly the same and then at the end the Italian completely changes pace and scoring style to Give Froch the last two rounds. Not to mention that they were probably two of the clearst for Dirrell specially the eleventh.
Tomasz Adamek vs. Vinny Maddalone, 12 rounds, heavyweights; Sadam Ali vs. Manuel Guzman, 8 rounds, welterweights; Patrick Majewski vs. Eddie Caminero, 8 rounds, middleweights; Angel Concepcion vs. Lekan Byfield, 4 rounds, light heavyweights; Wanzell Ellison vs. TBA, 4 rounds, junior lightweights; Tarvis Simms vs. Willis Locket, 6 rounds, middleweights; Gabriel Rosado vs. Jose Medina, 8 rounds, junior middleweights; Raymond Biggs Jr. vs. Phillip McCants, 6 rounds, welterweights; Bryant Jennings vs. Randy Smith, 4 rounds, heavyweights
Word was that he was going to King as part of a package with Odlanier Solis. Oner wants to go with King because of his history of promoting heavies so it's the best opportunity for Solis.
You should probably watch a replay of the fight. Might i suggest in slow motion so you can see what's really going on this time.
So I can see what exactly? Campbell looking like Calzaghe looked like againts B-Hop for the first 4 rounds. Campbell couldn't find Bradley for his life. Don't make me create an avatar. Bradley is too good and backing up for Nate and he'll never stop throwing punches ...........
Asked if he would be willing to give Campbell a rematch to settle the issue, Bradley sounded more than willing. “Why not? Why not? It’s gonna’ be the same outcome. That’s easy work. He’s too slow, too heavy footed. I’ll move all day on him. All day.”
i think u should read again cause keven did say it doesn't make sense to fight in cali cause tim only draws 2000 people, and if they fight in jersey like u said, i bet they will still sell more than 2000 tickets. the point that keven is making is that they are willing to fight outside of stl, but it don't make since to fight cali cause they won't make any money there.
If this fight took place with Bradley at home it wouldn't take place at the small casino. It would take place at the Ontario Citizens Business Bank Arena where Arreola and PWILL have fought. Sits about 10,000 and right between LA and Bradley's home town. Plenty of boxing fans in this are plus desert storm people and Los Angeles fans. About 30 minute drive from either place so I'm sure it would sell out. If all else fails do an all mexican undercard, plenty of mexicans here and you know how they'll support anyone who is mexican and it'll earn the winner of the main event a lot of new fans. Should be in Ontario or SAint Louis. These guys aren't superstars so the hometown fans deserve them at home.
The fight that should happen (but obviously won't) is Sergy v.s. Angulo. Sergy has the most to prove out of any anyone even if he has been a champ for years. He had a tougher time with J. Julio than Angulo and Kirkland; who walked right through him.
With that being said, if Sergy gets a top tier fighter it should be P.Will. Williams just had a very easy outing against Cintron and should want to come back quick against a decent challenger so he doesn't wind up with a long layoff before his re-match with Martinez. Even if he fought a really close fight with Sergy it wouldn't be very grueling, so it's a perfect fight before the big re-match.
Martinez deserves a break after two hard fights and three really good opponents. He is basically at the top of two divisions so he doesn't have to clean them up for everyone. After fighting Paul Williams and Kelly Pavlik he shouldn't take a challenge from a guy who's best wins are Daniel Santos and J. Julio when there is no great financial gain. Specially when there is a much bigger fight as far name and money readily available. Maybe even two if Mayweather is serious.
At the end of it all Sergy deserves a fight againts Angulo (which won't happen), Cintron, P. Will(since the result of P.Will's last fight). Long shots are Cotto if he looks good tonight, since Cotto could carry the fight financial and Sergy offers a legit contender at his weight who isn't a bruiser. Or the winner of the undercard. The winner of Joe and Vanes is a legit contender and isn't accustomed to making stacks of bundles anyways. Outside of that there is Corey Spinks; a name with a belt who doesn't want to fight but might get in the gym for a bigger fight than Bundrage and a unification.
I can't wait for Kirkland to get back Sergy would be a perfect fight for him.
i feel u on that......but the scottrade seats 22000 and devon did 10,000 already with kotelnik don't you think it would be a whole lot more if it was him and bradley fighting there?
You got a point there. I gues it comes down to risk. Ontario will be cheaper gauranteed so even if it sits less they might be able to even out. There is noway that they can sell tickets at the same price it the LOU that they can here. They would probably give a lot of tickets away. Either would be good. Probably more of a show in St. Louis but they probably both develop more fans in Cali.
Your right I think it's time to cancel my HBO subscription.
I only have it for Boxing but it seems like lately there not in into making any good fights no more. I can just download a clean copy of the fight a few hours after the broadcast and save 15 bucks a month.
I just order HBO 30 minutes before a fight and then call and cancel it as soon as it's over. They just pro rate you the amount for the day. Kind of anal but beats giving Verizon 16.99/mth.
i think nate has a good case and it will be no contest. i was not impress by bradlys performance and in the rematch i really do think that nate is gonna take it.
I understand you not being impressed by Bradley, maybe you just don't like him. What I don't understand is how you think that a guy who can't come close to hitting his opponent will win a rematch. Campbell hit nothing but air for three rounds(the only time Nate landed flush Bradley just hit him right back) and then just tried to tire bradley out. Even though the cause for stopage was legitimate it was clear that Campbell was frustrated and needed a restart. It looked like he was going out there like Witter; frustrated and in there just becuase he had to be. At least Bradley showed good skill in boxing while moving back but hitting often so he isn't just running.
I don't see where Froch's power is: He never hurt pascal, never made Kessler back up, something even Calzaghe did(not downing Cal but his punching style wasn't suited for power punching) never hurt Jermaine with one single shot and I have yet to see a one punch kd from him. Bottom line he can't hit as good as a fast handed puncher who finds perfect openings and sits on his shots like Dirrell. But if Jermaine can hurt Froch and put him down it's likely that AA may as well.
Froch has decent boxing ability and smarts (under rated if you ask me) and physically gifted but speed and power isn't one of them. Size, stamina and his chin are his gifts. He is probably the biggest smw in overall size and AA the smallest. Adding his size to the fact that AA will probably need more than one shot to really daze him and the fact tat Froch shouldn't get tired; his best strategy is to stay outside with his size and decent boxing. He wont hurt AA, he might not even be able to hit him; definitely not flush enough. He is also not as good Dirrell to set him up and catch him off balance for the kd. In the he'll need a solid decision on activity if he stands toe toe with AA he is going to realize that he should of fought Kessler like that and AA more like he fought Kessler. A big disadvantage for Froch is hat AA is basically already in the next round. So that buys him the comfort of him being that much more patient. So Froch will need to be active active active to smother and stay on the outside.
Ward by brutal KO
Ward, has not and, will never brutally knock someone out in his career. He plays it way too safe and his puches are made for flash(speed and look good) not power.
What do you guys think about Manny having better defense than Mosley? Mosley has great D he just likes to fight too much, but his D is good. The only D I see in Manny is his great offense; anyone agree?
clocked at 138mph on a motorcycle on the san berdoo freeway between pomona and fontana is my record. lost license for 6mo and $330 fine in early '90s.
What a small world; I used to do the same thing on my 05 gsxr 1k in the exact same area. I remember when the 210 was first opened through to fontana that was great but too many cops. My favorite is the stretch on the 71 between chino hills and the 91; hit 170 plus there so with adjusting for speed variations I know I was doing at 160. Haven't done that in so long.(had a kid)
This fight is obviously not happending for quiet some time. Nothing backfired on Haymon, they just simply have no interest in the fight. Haymon is not letting any of his fighters fight live opponents for peanuts. Even if the original deal was put in place it wouldn't happen. Him letting it go to purse bid wasn't a move to get money it was a move to show disinterrest. Arum knew this, that's why he acted like he would put it on the cotto fight; to get publicity of a strong card. Just like Golden boy did with Morales vs Mathysse. Any one who thought that someone with a hard core Mexican following like Morales was gonna fight one of his biggest fights in a 3rd slot of someone else's pay per view is crazy. Both promoters know that this would be a boring fight anyways and it would never be worth anything for either fighter to take an L for no money and no recognition either. The only thing in play here is who is going to want to pay the belt organization more to keep the title.
