I've no desire to watch Wlad fight Toney, Wlad should fight as worthy opponent to gauge just where he is at in the game.
Toney had had a great career, he has nothing more to prove...but make money i guess.
I would hardly call Gatti's loss to Robinson as being outboxed, his first fight with Robinson was a close SD loss and fight of the year.
Been waiting for Gatti to burn out a few fights ago, though he still seems to entertain and defeat some good fighters.
I lost a few quid on this fight, being in Minto's hometown and all, but my initial impuslive reaction was to put the spread on Tubbs, he is/was a excellent boxer. :(
Enjoy Gatti's fights, all the way from Robinson to Ward, though now way does he punch harder than Tszyu. It's all hype to build interest in the fight. Tsyu KO 5 Gatti.
Relax, it was meant as a joke "cruiserweight ?". It is doubtful that Rocky would have defeated some of today's best heavyweights. Can't see him defeating Lewis, Holmes, Ali, Foreman
(would destroy him), and would have a hard time against any 210 pound slugger of today.
Why is "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather Jr fighting BruselEs ? who is he, his record is less than deserving of a title fight. With so much talent in the division Floyd chooses the easy fight.
I for one have no interest in watching this fight, it's a rip-off.
Juan Diaz (26-0-0) v Billy Irwin (42-5-0) 12....Juan Diaz UD
Diaz has fought the better opposition.
Chris Smith (19-0-1) vs. David Estrada (17-1) 12...Chris Smith UD
It's a even matchup, going with Smith.
Calvin Brock (23-0-0) v Clifford Etienne (29-2-2) 10....Clifford Etienne UD. Still not impressed with Brock.
Yanqui Diaz (13-1-0) v Samuel Peter (21-0-0) 10.....Samuel Peter UD
The Gomez fight, though a good win for Diaz seems a bit of a fluke. Diaz is still a unknown quantity.
Scott Harrison (23-2-1) v Víctor Polo (34-4-2) 12....
Scott Harrison UD
Even matchup, Harrison in for a fight.
Arturo Gatti (38-6-0) v James Leija (47-6-2) 12.....Arturo Gatti KO 8
Gatti overwhealms Leija in the later rounds
Kassim Ouma (20-1-1) v Kofi Jantuah (28-1-0) 12.....Kassim Ouma ko 5
Two top fighters, i believe this is going to be a shoot-out for dominance.
For some reason i have no interest in the Mayweather fight, he could pick a more worthy opponent.
There are two versions to the fight being a rip-off, Lou DiBella who has interests in Navarro stated it was, Joe Koizumi said it was a close fight and some who saw it say it could have been a draw. The only controversy should be with the scoring, one of the judges having it 120- 109 for Navarro.
Hatton is a tough little bugger as long as he is matched accordingly, Tzyu has too much of a arsenal for Hatton to deal with. Hatton will put on the brave face and battle Tzyu, though it's doubtful he get's out of the fourth round. This fight reminds me of Andy Holigan vs Julio Cezar Chavez, strictly for the one sided beating he will endure.
Eastman seems confident that he is going to knock Hopkins out by the fifth round. The fight should go the distance if they box, if Eastman is persistEnt on taking Hopkins head off it would be Hopkins who wins by KO.
