Hamed was one the biggest punchers in featherweight history, he lands on Pac and its probably over. People always talk of the Barrera fight like it was a complete whitewash but in actual fact it was close and in the balance for a long time. Barrera fought extremely defensively, he just sat back all night and in fact lost many rounds because of the fact that he just wasn't punching. That was the worst Hamed youll ever see. They showed a documentary over here that followed Hamed in his preparation for the Barrera fight. It was a farce, his incompetant brothers where running the show and they didn't have a clue. Everything went wrong when he got rid of Brendan Ingle, mainly due to him falling out with Hameds brothers.
Fact is Hamed has the exact style to beat Manny, he was an unorthodox counterpuncher with huge power. Mannys gonna come foward and odds are he's going to get caught and when he does its over. JMM isn't in Hameds league as a puncher. Nothing wrong with Hamed chin as was said before, all about balance. I never once seen him hurt in a fight. Hameds the clear favourite here. Mannys not disiplined enough to box the way Barrera did.
Yes none of us know anything about boxing. We make replys like "MANNY KOs THE CLOWN EASIIIILY!!!!!!!!!!!. MANNYS DA MAN!!!!!" But then don't give a single logical reason why. Who's the clowns here?
Everyone always talk about what Cotto will do but no one ever thinks about the things Chico can do. He is probally #for# the best puncher in boxing. Why didnt Cotto break N'Dou up with those big lefts? Even Merchant said after the fight that maybe Cotto isnt the puncher that people think he is. The better the opponent the harder it will be to KO him
N'Dou was tough as hell. You only have to look at the guy to see that. N'Dou after the fight was found out to have a broken rib. He did touch down also but it was not counted. McCullough stood up to Hameds and Morales best, but those guys can punch. Laporte stood up to Gomez best. These are just tough guys. Cotto's not a totally huge puncher but still pretty damn good. He picks his shots very well.
of course he did vitali is the far the best boxer/figher i have seen in many years and after watching vitalis fight with johnson i hafe to say his fighting style resembles larry holmes
Sarcasm? At least I hope it is.
It would be pretty stupid for a 5'10 heavy to start dancing round the ring and try to out jab far taller boxers. He fought a style which suited his physical makeup. Just as Lennox fights one that suits his.
Fast feet are like fast hands. Some guys have them and some don't. Some guys plod foward while others are on their toe's. Some guys move foward like that deliberatly, digging their toe's into the canvas for punching power.
A powerful jab landing is better than landing nothing at all. Or landing ineffective punches. Oscars punches where bouncing off Sturm while Sturms jab was really bothering Oscar.
Maybe Danny will now fight Herbie Hide. They where going to fight in June but Herbie got a terrible cut in a warmup fight. What an incredible break for Danny Williams. Couple of weeks later Tysons camp phones up and the rest is history. Hide might have knocked him out too.
Look what happened to Sosa when he moved up and fought Cotto. These lightweights will seriously struggle to take his power. Corrales thin body especially.
Gatti hasn`t beaten a top ten light welterweight ( in fact he has only won one fight where the opponent was world class above 130lbs, this was Dorin ). Gatti should be Jesse James but what kind of big win is it? Mayweather would beat Gatti, Tsysu would be the better fight for Gatti as Tsysu`s chin isn`t that great. But Gatti is a good light welter, he just isn`t world class!
Please watch Tszyu vs Phillips and then tell me that Tszyu has a bad chin. He took some total bombs that night was finally stopped on his feet. Seriously, watch the fight. Tszyu has a wide stance and is always prepared for anything coming his way.
I said BEAT a top 10 lightwelter. Not that he isn't one. Tszyu, Floyd, and Harris are above him. I also think Hatton, Cotto and possibly Mitchell would beat him.
I saw Sanders comeback fight the other day. He was pretty fat but the thing was his hands where still really fast. You could really see the exact same thing happening again.
ahh....damn good point (and i dont say that much)
wlad getting owned and ko'ed is still on a lot of ppl mind..its not like vitali losing to lewis and byrd (lewis and byrd won the fight but dint beat vitali get me) but still was ahead on scorecards..or like wlad dominating lamon then losing..but in that fight wlad was owned and that still on a lots of ppl's minds.
i still say wlad fights toney...winning this fight can say a lot and will get his reputation back...toney cant hit hard so its a plus
Wlad would give Toney the beating of his life. This is a one or two round beatdown. He beats him worse than his brother would because of his greater punching power.
Thats hardly trash talking, to the king of trashtalking himself anyway. Bernard needs some of his own medicine. Howard should start interupting Hopkins like he does everyone else, just to piss Bernard off.
Its just so easy to say Mike, everyone does and when you question something about him his legions of fanatics comeout and berate you. Im tellin it as it is, only a blind man says Tyson hit harder than Foreman. Watch Marciano over Walcott and tell me Tyson had better one punch KO power, Marciano broke a guys arm with a punch. P4P Bob Foster had better power than Mike, its not even debateable, at lightheavy he was a beast.
Tyson doesn't get in the top 10. Mikes KO's came from his speed and aggression with very good power. Marciano, Shavers and especially Foreman hit harder than Mike. One punch KO's? Bob Foster, thread over.
