Does "mugs" mean beer drinker? Like beer mug? Or does it mean mofo's? Or am I just lost all together?
The fight does suck though. Khan should go after Peterson again.
When we call someone a "mug" or refer to people as "mugs" I guess the friendliest politest translation would be idiot or idiots.
Calling someone a mug though could also mean many derogatory terms, for example:
"Floyd Mayweather is a total mug" could be translated as "Floyd Mayweather is a complete dick".
I`m not saying FMJ is a dick but for some reason when I thought of someones name to use his name popped into my head first lol.
What you just wrote show you have no sense of history, lmmfao! Goddamn, hilarious!
In that case please enlighten me and give me a history lesson relevant to why Ali originally had a slavers name and not the name of his parents (Clay) as I`m obviously missing the point and haven`t got a clue about what you and the other bloke are trying to say...
I already said that had they changed their names before Ali was born then he wouldn`t have had Clay as a surname but one of their choosing but as they didn`t change their names he got his surname from them (whether or not they originally got the surname from some slavers is beside the point as Ali got the surname Clay from his parents and wasn`t given it by slavers).
Please give me a history lesson though as there must be something I don`t know and am arguing a point that doesn`t matter.
Oh and why we are on the subject of history, wasn`t it the British who got slavery and slave trading abolished so get off your high horses with your black militant crap and stop thinking every non black fcuker (i.e white) is against you and black folk have been so persecuted throughout history because you aren`t the only ones who have had a hard time of it.
Before you try and play the racist card my grandmother was Jewish, I am married to an Asian, I have a 10 year old daughter from a previous relationship in Sierra Leone (Freetown funnily enough where I believe the black folk returned to Africa when slavery was abolished and hence the name Freetown) so I couldn`t care less about race, creed, religion, culture etc as my own background is a right old hodge podge.
Please though, give me a History lesson as I`m obviously a thick fcuker and as dense as a Brazillian rain forrest and you are such an intellectual whizz.
Bradley spanked that poochiao ass!
Aye he did like!!!:wtf:.....I`ll have to find that fight out and watch it again as that wasn`t they way it went down as far as I can recall.
Yeah, but who is Cassius Clay?
The GOAT mutherfcuker.....however, if Vitali was around in those days he would be revered as the GOAT instead....
I`m no big fan of Vitali but I recognise him as a modern day great heavyweight (who would already have been an all time great had he been around in Alis` era but he will one day be remembered as an all time great heavyweight anyway) and will speak the truth and what I think as i am no biased fanboy....or someone elses` alt for that matter.
Let us not detract though as this thread was your official top 10 pfp list and debate.....which is utter bollocks by the way!!!
You dont know **** about muhammad ali!
Elijah Muhammad gave him his proper african name, he didnt name himself, god you are stupid.
and his parents didnt give him the name "clay" either, that was his slave name from white slave owners. You are so stupid and ignorant.
Yes his surname Clay probably originated from slave owners but he got that name from his parents.... Cassius Marcellus Clay, Sr & Odessa O'Grady Clay...if they had changed their surnames to a non white slave owner name before he was born he would have been given a different surname but they didn`t so he got his surname from his parents...
Muhammad Ali is not a proper African name either....it is Muslim and specifically originates in Arabic countries....you could say it`s a North African or any largely Muslim populated African country name but then again it still originated in Arabic countries.
Africa is quite a large continent and consists of many countries (not all Muslim) you know so by saying he has a proper African name you are way off the mark.
Stupid is as stupid does so eff off you c0k sucker..
Man, just stfu. It's obvious you have mental health issues that you have not solved yet.
This kind of reply reply fcuks me off....get out of jail free card or what....typical thick kunt post when they have started an arguement and then can`t back themselves up when questioned for more insightful answers...
Don`t worry fella I`m out of this thread you dumb as schit fcuker.
P.S Since you are such a dumb a$$ and obviously need things explained to you slowly....before you start commenting that my spelling of certain words is wrong, please realise I am trying to mix letters up so that the words can be made out.
You are a fan boy of Vitali. Vitali is a fine fighter, but he quit against Byrd and lost to Lewis-two elite fighters that he faced and lost to. Vitali will never be seen as great as Ali-ever!
Being British I am not a fan boy of Vitali.....I respect him as a great modern day heavy weight boxer who has been around during most of my adult years.
This is being a fan boy...
Backing boxers from my home country and hoping beyond hope that they will win even when I know they are **** or complete knob ends (such as David H, Amir K)..
Or is that being patriotic?.....or on this forum with regards boxing is being a fan boy and patriotic the same thing lol.
I live in the Philippines and even though I had a gut feeling JMM was going to finally get the win I still backed MP (JMM is an elite fighter too who KTFO of MP so does that mean MP is just a fine fighter if I use the same comparison as yours above or would you say it was elite v elite so win or lose etc they are still considered great?).
So, now we have established that I am not a fan boy of Vitali but I can be considered a fan boy where I have roots or interests....I have no ties with the Ukraine therefore it doesn`t bother me if Vitali wins, loses, quits, but regardless of his results in my opinion he is still a modern time great who would have been an all time great had he been around in Alis` era.
Thats not his real name you stupid ****, thats his slave name given by the white devil. He was reborn and took his proper african name, muhammed ali.
No, his parents gave him that name and then he converted to Islam and gave himself a Muslim name.
if you ever find another poster who says Vitali beats prime Ali, I will wire you $10,000.00 in cash-real cash!QUOTE]
Apologies if I am jumping on a bandwagon but...
"Vitali beats prime Ali" because...
"Vitali destroys Ali. Period. What the contest is going to come down to is chin. Vitali has Ali in height and reach .... and dare I say it CHIN. Ali's chin is going to go before Vitali's". - TheBoxingBanger
P.S My office computer is running slow and won`t let me multi quote so another apology if this post is messed up in any way.
P.P.S Best get down to Western Union lol :crackhead
Only Floyd getting Ko'd would make people happy
I don`t think I would like to see FMJ get knocked out or actually get beat for that matter. I`m not a fan of his and think he is as arrogant as they come but I appreciate what he has achieved in his career and I would like to be able to say in years to come FMJ was one to see and remember and he was never beaten.
I would have really liked to see him fight MP a few years ago but not now as they have both diminished recently (although FMJ seems to be hanging in there longer than MP) and I don`t reckon it would be either of their best performances now....still would be intrigued to watch them fight though I guess just for the what if factor.
For some reason I would like to see FMJ fight JMM again but that is more out of curiosity just to see how JMM has really improved and who better to test his new found energy and longevity in the game against than FMJ....FMJ completely shut him out last time around I am am wondering if the new improved dedicated version of JMM could make it closer and more competitive or whether styles do make fights and his brilliance is only against MP as he knows him like the back of his hand.
At the end of the day FMJ isn`t in his prime any longer and any fight could take his zero and if that were to happen then I don`t think any of the current crop are worthy enough to have FMJs zero on their resume (i.e Canelo et al).
I wouldn`t blame FMJ for taking easy (but challenging enough for a show) fights just to get some more large pay checks before he does finally call it a day. Martinez is low reward but high risk for him, Martinez is too big and if FMJ were to fight and beat him it would go down in history and seal his legacy as an ATG for sure (actually high reward in a way but the risk to accomplish this reward is way too high with the odds against)....FMJ v Martinez....who would be the favourite at which agreed upon weight do you think? The higher the weight it would have to be Martinez and the lower the weight it would have to be FMJ I guess (in which case high reward and lower risk lol).
Haye will knock him out before 10 anyway. Gonna be 24KO in 26.
Should have been a scheduled 12 but totally agree, this fight will not go the distance...Haye by early KO...gonna come out swinging!!!
Apologies first as I am more of a casual fan (although I do a lot of reading of threads on here this is my first post) and will be honest as I don`t know the ins and outs of what goes on. Having said that though, I have been a casual fan since the early 90s so I do know the more popular boxers.
As a previous poster has stated Bob Arum is just a promoter which to me means that is all he should do....yes he gets boxers to sign a contract allowing him to promote a certain amount of fights for them but surely that doesn`t mean he gets to tell them who to fight as if he were their manager? Shouldn`t it just be a case of a boxer (who "allows" Arum to be his promoter by signing on the dotted line) going up to Arum and saying I`m fighting such and such next so do your thing and promote it?
How many times a week does this thread need to be made?
I was going to read the replies then I got to yours a little further down from the article and you hit the nail on the head.....going around in circles springs to mind.
As the saying goes...you can`t educate pork and both Mayweather and Pacman fans need to find something new to talk about lol
How about keeping one professional judge but have current professional boxers from a different weight division (never likely to meet in the ring which would remove proffessional bias etc) as the other judges. Plus maybe the boxers called in to judge should also be from a different trainer, manager, promoter etc that would also remove more bias and the possibility of corruption. Also, they could alternate sides of the ring every other round to see a different perspective of the fight as oppose to remaining static and only seeing from one angle for the duration if a fight were to go the distance.
I honestly don`t know though what an effective solution would be and maybe we are all just grasping at straws to try and rationalise what we have seen happen recently with all of the bad decisions that have happened.
In my opinion it is all about pride....MP isn`t scared of FMJ and FMJ isn`t scared of MP...MP won`t accept less than a fair split for the simple reason it will mean he accepts that FMJ is the more popular of the two.
People who say MP won`t fight FMJ because it will end his career....MP knows he is at the end of his career so even if he lost to FMJ it wouldn`t affect him being able to continue boxing as he is going to stop soon anyway (would it affect his legacy? I think not...he already has an outstanding resume).
FMJ isn`t scared of losing his zero loss record either....he could have retired years ago but came back and is still fighting...each time he laces his gloves up there is a chance of him getting beat (we all know that anything in the ring can happen including if the fight goes the distance no matter who the opponent or odds of winning).
At the end of the day they won`t fight each other on principle because they don`t want to give in to each others demands therefore admitting that they are less than the other. It is a matter of pride.
I live in the Philippines so I have a natural bias towards MP but I still respect FMJ as one of the modern all time greats just like MP and if I am being honest I don`t know who would win....they have both had their moments of glory and they have both had their moments of under performance...what I do know is they will both need their "A" game if they ever do fight each other and at this moment in time MP is no longer fighting his "A" game and FMJ is in prison being drained so no doubt his "A" game will be gone.
The fight should have happened years ago whilst they were both still in their prime because now if they were to fight it would probably be the let down of the millenia.
Now both sets of fans stop sounding like a broken record and grow up.
I haven`t watched the fight yet as I am still at work offshore so maybe I shouldn`t be making a comment but I will anyway....
What bleeping difference does it make whether you watch the fight with or without commentary?
Yes seeing and hearing are two of our senses but surely if you are watching something you see it whether you hear different from the commentary or not.
Are all of these people who say they watched it the first time around with commentary and said it was totally different the second time around without commentary totally brain dead and so susceptible to audible influence over what their eyes are seeing in front of them?
I mean come on...if I see something happen I see it happen no matter what someone is shouting in my ears...
This sounds like a good thing for Mythbusters to test out.....I would like to bet if they did it would be busted.
Actually why we are at it why don`t we ban commentators from TV so that what our eyes are seeing can`t be influenced.....I would say sight is more relevant than audio too...you could watch a fight blindfolded and have commentary saying the exact opposite of what is happening but you would be none the wiser and imagine that is what is happening.....alternatively you could wear ear defenders so you cannot hear a thing and see for yourself exactly what is happening......to hear or not to hear should not affect your thoughts with what you see so please stop this I watched it without commentary and it was a totally different fight you weak minded bleepers.
You could not have made this ****e up:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
Saying the marquez got lucky and that it was the best Pacman he had ever seen, but, he wants to prove he is the best so is challenging to a fight in may or June
Seriously? I`m gonna have to turn the TV on....I need to hear this lol
Floyd needs to end his career by fighting Martinez and Pacquiao, if he did that and beat them both I would consider him #1 of this generation.

I know the TS said not to include Martinez but the above says it all....no other fights really matter....his legacy as a true legend lies on the shoulders of Pacquiao and Martinez....he can fight any of the other top guys between 140 and 154 and win convincingly but until he has Pacquiao and/or Martinez (preferably both) on his resume then there will always be question marks on his legacy....win or lose against those two and he still gets maximum respect for finally fighting them.
Saying that though I don`t really think Martinez should be in the equation as I feel he is too big, even at a catchweight weigh in he would rehydrate enough to have a serious size advantage in the fight.....if FMJ pulled off a win though now that would cement his legacy as the greatest of his generation.
Lets be honest, no excuses, he had REALLY bad intentions in JMM 4. He was killing him and I still say if he wasn't so aggressive and going for the kill then the he would have had a TKO in rounds 7 or 8 easy but he walked on to the most perfect punch which JMM had been readying for him since their 1st fight. MP is a legend but he is getting old now, his style of fighting (aggresive instead of defensive) dictates that. He always has bad intentions but father time has caught up...accept it.
I`m not sure I want to see the MP and Bradley fight now....the screens above make Bradley look like he was just dodging all the time and MP was the only one throwing punches....Bradley might have won but seeing the above makes it look like it was a boring fight if that is how he was in all rounds...I know dodging is a part of boxing before anyone jumps down my neck but there is dodging and then there is being scared to fight....the above makes Bradley look scared to engage.
:wow:Here we go again......
Constant inane bickering between MP and FMJ fans....:lame:
We have seen and heard it all before so is there really a reason to say the same things over and over again.....it has all been said thousands of times over the past three years.....don`t you all get tired of repeating yourselves.....:repost:
Broken record springs to mind.....:gives:
I think this knockout prediction of Freddies is finally one that will happen....In fact I am willing to put 50mill down that AK gets the stoppage victory?
you think amir was paid to wear it? just like he gets paid to wear reebok gloves?
Are you being sarcastic lol...I should imagine that of course he gets paid to wear it and has to as part of his Reebok sponsorship deal...will get the tracky for free too lol
Exactly, no wonder everyone thought Pac won, he looked like he bossed Bradley as he pleased.
IMO Bradley needs to beat KHan to prove hes worthy of facing Pac. Khan has belittled bradley enough, so thats another reason for Bradley to want to fight Khan
He does have a good enough reason to fight Kahn now but I would like to think Kahn will win even though he gasses out and Bradleys stamina is a lot better....could be a boring fight too though if they both run away and dodge each other....boxers who are afraid to take a punch comes to mind when their names are mentioned lol
I`m still picking Kahn though.
April makes no sense. If Floyd fights in November-December of this year, and Pacquiao too. How are they going to sign the fight, rest from their November/December fights and promote their fight 3-4 months, when the past few fights they've done against lesser opponents were promoted for 5-6 months?
Maybe lesser opponents require a longer build up and promotion to sell tickets....MP and FMJ will not need a huge promotion and all they have to do is basically decide on a date and sign the contract and the fight sells itself.....it is Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr FFS.....do you really think this fight would need months of promotion? They are both superstars and celebrities away from boxing so non-boxing fans, casual boxing fans, celebrities, just about anybody with a pulse will want to see this fight automatically.
