to please you right now as a fight fan?
Floyd has been getting a lot of attention since Pac was knocked out.
Who should he fight in your opinion?
Who should he fight right this minute.
Will Floyd win?
Floyd is at the age where he can turn old at any time.
Who can take him right now?
floyd really doesnt have much more to do if anything. I from what im reading every "floyd" fan wants it at 160 or bust. I dont get why people are saying we dont want it. IMO i just think 160 because at 154 it'll be excuse after excuse we've heard it for years this will be no different. I would like to see this man finally get some credit. Also, to answer the TS question thats the one thing he can do, retire after beating the 160 lineal mw #3 pfp fighter in the world would be nice. However, i dont think it should be looked on as a duck if he doesnt.
And that's good for you bro. But any realistic boxing fan knows that just because ginger can boss up on jr welterweights & shot greats doesn't mean he can beat on has-beens or chumps & still miraculously get a shot at the biggest draw in boxing. And actually stand a chance. Trout called him out in his native tongue & he fled the arena. If ginger is scared of Trout, he has no business in the ring with Floyd, period.
Which leaves Floyd/Martinez. 2 very real top 5 pfp fighters that can both compete at 154, (as said by both men). That's the biggest fight in boxing. The ginger fight is just a Floyd fan & a fools fight.
I agree with everything in this post.
I've never really defended a Mayweather vs Canelo fight & the only reason I mentioned it in my post is because I've seen so many posts about what Canelo would do to Floyd. How he would ko him & so on so forth. I like Canelo. He's a young talented fighter that can box & is dangerous, but just like a whole lot of other people I would like to see him step up & prove that he is on that level.

TS asked a question, some mentioned Martinez. Then the Floyd supporters started making up all kinds of excuses as to why a Floyd/Martinez showdown makes no sense.
Even defending a ginger/Floyd showdown. Which quite frankly is laughable. I mean how can anyone give Floyd any credit for beating ginger?? He hasn't done a thing in 40+ fights to prove he can compete with the #2 pfp fighter in the world, not a thing.

Bush we discussed this before. My only point about sergio relative to floyd was sergio is only calling floyd out for the money. to spin this into a "floyd needs sergio for legacy" or "its the only competitive fight" is pure BS IMO.
Listen you quoted me. I didn't start speaking about legacy. But feel free to call the Martinez fight nonsense however you feel. I know the ginger fight is in fact far more nonsensical than the Martinez fight. I twisted nothing. I posted my post live & direct. TS asked what can Floyd do to satisfy the masses. The answer to that is fight Martinez, period. No excuses.
Ok.
Leading on the scorecards doesn't neccessarily mean you are winning the fight though.
It doesn't.
But in this case, Robinson was winning the fight.
It hasnt been amazing, but its been solid and has been done in a shorter period of time, still, if you think fighting 4 times in 5 years is a solid effort then good for you. I think its crap.
It hasn't been amazing? Yet, you implied it was amazing. "After the run he's been on, he deserves an easy fight!" :lol1:
I think beating ranked fighters matters. Not fighters who have 1 fight above domestic level like Darren Barker.
I don't recall claiming Robinson won the fight. I said he was winning before he succumbed to heat and yes, he lost. Maybe you can show me where anybody credible said otherwise.
Too bad you're not this vigorous in regards to Kessler losing to Ward. Because the fat lady did some singing at the end of that fight too.
You claimed Robinson was winning through the heat didn't you? Otherwise excuse me for misinterpreting your post.
That really oversimplifies my view on it. I really have no problem with a fighter talking crap if they back it up, but what Floyd does really sucks. He has been doing it for years and its now not only tiresome but cringeworthy to witness. Him contemplating fighting RG and trying to sell it as some kind of worthwhile fight is pretty damn shameless.
what is that exactly? In truth, floyd hasn't tried to sell the fight so why are you so critical of something that hasn't happened yet?
as for contemplating-could you just be more honest. Floyd may fight Ghost becuse ghost won the eliminator for floyd's ww title. Going into the ghost-berto fight, it was assumed the winner (which many thought would be berto) had a leg up on getting a floyd fight (same as Berto ortiz).
Joe Louis was winning easily against Max Schmeling after 5 rounds. Meldrick Taylor was winning against Chavez for 11 rounds. Jermain Taylor was winning against Carl Froch for 11 rounds.
They all lost. Point being that the fight aint over untill the fat lady sings.

From everything I have read Robinson was winning. if Maxim was winning that's certainly new to me.

Mayweather/Martinez @160 (maybe with a clause in place that says Sergio can't rehydrate past a certain amount), and then both guys retire regardless of the outcome.
Ok.

Fighting 2x a year would be nice. As for competition, we can't ever have a rational discussion because as REED so aptly put it whoever he fights people will complain.
would you have a different opinion if he didn't proclaim his greatness so much?

Maxim was way behind on the scorecards. That was my point. Not who was better at adapting to heat.

Wasn't it a 15 rounder? Maxim was better in adapting to the conditions.

OK, but who will actually take a (Floyd is ducking ginger) remark seriously?? I mean who the hell can say with a straight face that Floyd ducked ginger to fight Martinez. That literally makes no sense.
Yes, they will. They're doing it right now.

The only disagreement I have with a Floyd-Sergio fight is that it's a duck if it doesn't happen, it's not a duck to give up more weight to a guy 2 weight classes above you in size.
