This is a little off topic from the Pac vs. Mayweather posts, but just curious if anybody knows any story behind this... In the Rocky series, it's obvious that Apollo Creed is based on Muhammad Ali, and Ivan Drago is just a sterotype of what soviet fighters were at the time. But who or what was the Clubber Lang character based on? The obvious choice would be Tyson, but the movie came out in 1983, and Tyson didn't turn pro until 1984. Was there a fighter Stallone based Lang on, or did he just make him up? Just curious, this just popped into my head. It was just a charater they made up. They wanted a slugger for Rocky to fight.

Team Pacquiao no doubt about it. If you have nothing to hide, why not agree to the tests. Mayweather is well within his rights to ask for something like this since the Pacquiao fight is likely to be one of the closest he gets to losing that zero. Why run the risk of tarnishing his legacy by potentially losing to a potentially juiced up fighter wen you can try and make sure that's not the case. All Maywather does is talk about how great he is and how he will beat anyone any time yet he is backing down from this fight. Why all of a sudden does he want this random testing. Why didnt he want it when JMM moved up from what 130??? Why didnt he want it against DLH? Hatton?? They were all potential losses. I really think he or his daddy are scard of Pac. Its ashame that BS school girl rumors are going to ruin this fight. No wonder why some people are turning away from boxing.

How did Ali, who had previously been knocked down and almost out by the smaller Henry Cooper, manage to take those punches from Big George? There are PEDs that would have helped him to take Foreman's shots. He wasnt landing every power punch he threw. Did you watch the fight or did you watch the Ali movie where they made look like a worse beaten than it was? Ali was slipping alot of those punches. He was also blocking alot of those punches and countering. Foreman wasnt use to being hit like that much. He was spend from prolly round 4 on. You can see he was gased from throwing so many punches. Maybe Henry Cooper took something extra if he was so much smaller than Foreman ever think of that?

Letting the other guy use you as a punching bag for 8 rounds is brilliant? It worked didnt it? Plus Ali was getting off som great punches and combo's. First no Cotto didnt have to take the fight. Manny and Roach didnt go in a twist his arm to sign the fight. He could have pursued more fights. Dont give me this can he really turn down that money. on a straight pound for pound basis... Roy by a CITY mile I agree both fighters did win alot of titles at diff weights. I have to give Roy bc of his move to HW. In the ring an awsome fight. Roy could catch hearns on the chin with a leaping right or a check left hook. Going the distance would be even better but i give it to roy very narrowly.

Tracking Floyd down wont be a problem. If Cotto's not the best at cutting the ring off int he sport then he's 2nd or 3rd. Finding ways to land leather on Floyd wihtout being countered silly will be the issue. I think his jab is an important and valuable weapon in the fight. Because you have to be able to fight Floyd from a distance as well as up close. It's no good doing all the hard work inside when you're getting tagged on the way in. thank you thank you see thats what im looking for. alot of people have great posts on here just the one that thinks im hating on cotto. nice you answered the question lol.

cotto fights nothing like baldo or ricky who only come forward, did you forget the shane and margarito fight? everyone will fall into mayweathers gameplan because mayweather actually has a gameplan for every fight and every gameplan seems to be different unlike someone like paquiao who fights the same fight all the time Thats what Im saying. cotto may may come forward into maywheathers gameplan. I agree with the thread starter on this one. If you say the wrong thing about someones fighter on here you are a hater. Thats what this site is about putting your thoughts on the board and having people respond. Cotto is a very touchy subject being that he is Floyds #1 threat. So the Cotto lovers are very sensitive when he is referenced. Even when a question is out of genuine curiousity. You should've put "DISCLAIMER: This Is Not A Hate/Bait Thread" at the top. Same with Floyd. Come on now I been here like a month and I know this. Your not hating. Its just that your ideology of how the fight would fair, is incorrect. Your dismissing to many factors, that would make up a Cotto/Money fight. What makes Cotto such a big threat to Money, is the fact that he is a tactical puncher/boxer. He switches styles, to break your rhythm. If a defensive fighter, can not establish its rhythm or figure out its foe’s rhythm. It spells trouble. Cotto throws delayed punches. Meaning one is coming slow, with the following going in full blast. It serves to confuse the opponent, and land its heavy hand. Probably the biggest problem, and Cotto’s main attribute is the fact that he is ambidextrous. Meaning he can he can naturally switch from orthodox to southpaw. Let alone the other attributes that follow. He is a heavy Welter Weight, with good hand speed, and good foot work. Money will never fight Cotto. Im not saying thats how the fight will go im askin if that could be the case. Floyd has done that to fighters and cotto has done that to fighters. Im just asking would it be a boxing clinic by floyd? im not actually saying what floyd is going to do im just simply asking about it.

Also it wouldnt be out of the question at all that cotto could possibly catch floyd with a hook and put floyd flat on his back. But like someone said floyd would do enough moving to not make that happen. I think you would have to bet on if your cotto to just tire floyd out with body shots when you can and trap him and get very rough with floyd. But floyds speed makes it very hard for cotto to catch him with that punch. It prolly would be a really good fight though
