Is Money May vs Cotto really a good idea

I'm pretty sure that floyd can beat cotto but c'mon man, just give cotto a little credit. Im not trying to discredit cotto at all. Im just simply saying would maywheaters speed after a while be to much for cotto. and could he bait cotto into coming straight at him like we have seen floyd do to many of fighters. I would actually give cotto a good chance on beating floyd. do i think it would happen? i would have to say no. But the best thing about it is that it can happen and just might happen. I hope this fight gets signed bc it would be really great for the sport to put all these top fighters in the ring together. I just think floyd would win UD bc of his speed. Not dissing cotto or anything like that but just simply thinking that floyd's speed always comes into play somehow.

cotto fights nothing like baldo or ricky who only come forward, did you forget the shane and margarito fight? everyone will fall into mayweathers gameplan because mayweather actually has a gameplan for every fight and every gameplan seems to be different unlike someone like paquiao who fights the same fight all the time Thats what Im saying. cotto may may come forward into maywheathers gameplan. Your not hating. Its just that your ideology of how the fight would fair, is incorrect. Your dismissing to many factors, that would make up a Cotto/Money fight. What makes Cotto such a big threat to Money, is the fact that he is a tactical puncher/boxer. He switches styles, to break your rhythm. If a defensive fighter, can not establish its rhythm or figure out its foe’s rhythm. It spells trouble. Cotto throws delayed punches. Meaning one is coming slow, with the following going in full blast. It serves to confuse the opponent, and land its heavy hand. Probably the biggest problem, and Cotto’s main attribute is the fact that he is ambidextrous. Meaning he can he can naturally switch from orthodox to southpaw. Let alone the other attributes that follow. He is a heavy Welter Weight, with good hand speed, and good foot work. Money will never fight Cotto. Im not saying thats how the fight will go im askin if that could be the case. Floyd has done that to fighters and cotto has done that to fighters. Im just asking would it be a boxing clinic by floyd? im not actually saying what floyd is going to do im just simply asking about it.

If Cotto continues to win and Floyd wins a fight or two more, I have no doubt Cotto vs Floyd would blow through the roof. Make no mistake, Cotto is not on the level of superstar status like Oscar De La Hoya, but 99.9% of Boxers aren't either. But Cotto without a doubt is a bonafied star in the sport. He's more than deserving at a shot at fighting Floyd. You can bet people will be camping out waiting for tickets for this fight. If Floyd grows a pair enough to set a match between him and Cotto by the end of this year. Win or Lose I tip my hate for him. I will certainly order the PPV, and most likely my friends/co workers will as well. But I can bet you, the PPV sales wont match Hatton/Floyd.

Mayweather has have his share of trouble against other fighters, De La Hoya, Jose Luis castillo. Why should he do better against Cotto? Its not like Mayweather destroyed Oscar like Manny did. Oscar didn't present a real challenge to Mayweather. A prime De La hoya would've beaten Floyd easily. how did mayweather struggle with oscar? i only see oscar winning 3 rounds in that fight.what does manny the fighter beating the shit out of oscar have to do with mayweather beating oscar at his own counterpunching game? can manny counter punch his way to a victory over oscar? can manny beat ricky on the inside like floyd? manny can't do what floyd does manny may have beat oscar worst than floyd did but floyd can beat you at your own game

Yes your entirely right, everyone runs the risk of losing when you step into the ring. I suppose the purpose of my post, was to point out that this fight was to big of a risk for Money. Looking back at Money’s significant fights. Its strikingly odd, that those fights favor Money style or condition. Then you have the fact, that Cotto does not pull as much crowd as DLH or Hatton. Cotto fought a HUGE right hand puncher in Randal Bailey- Completely nullified Bailey's right hand and broke him down. Cotto fought a tough pressure fighter in Abdullaev- Cotto moved and cirlcled the whole fight and gave Abdullaev a boxing lesson on his way to TKO. Against Judah a slick powerful southpaw Cotto walked him down, cutting the ring off not just marching forward, broke him down and knocked him out. Against Carlos Maussa who was known as an undefeated knockout puncher when he fought Cotto, Cotto stayed on the outside and used his boxing skills to break Maussa down. Against Mosley we seen Cotto do a little bit of everything, going toe to toe and boxing. Against Margarito, a come forward brawler we seen Cotto put together some beautiful movement and land some sick shots but go tkod in the end (we will never know if there was plaster or not but I personally think there was) Against Jennings we seen a kid who was a decent boxer but couldn't handle pressure. Cotto walked him down and knocked him out. Fact is, Cotto adapts in the ring. If he is walking into counters non-stop, he will adapt and try something else. this is very true i just think floyd may be to fast for cotto. He does cut the ring off very well but i just think floyd will be to fast after awhile. The point of this fight is he is one of the two best welterweights in the world. I think Floyd wins this fight too, but why should he get a pass not to fight deserving fighters because we think he can beat them? The best need to fight the best to prove themselves.

Tracking Floyd down wont be a problem. If Cotto's not the best at cutting the ring off int he sport then he's 2nd or 3rd. Finding ways to land leather on Floyd wihtout being countered silly will be the issue. I think his jab is an important and valuable weapon in the fight. Because you have to be able to fight Floyd from a distance as well as up close. It's no good doing all the hard work inside when you're getting tagged on the way in. thank you thank you see thats what im looking for. alot of people have great posts on here just the one that thinks im hating on cotto. nice you answered the question lol.
